Κἀγώ And I εἶπον· said, Κύριε, Lord, αὐτοί they themselves ἐπίστανται know ὅτι that ἐγώ I ἤμην was φυλακίζων imprisoning καί and δέρων beating κατά in each τάς of those συναγωγάς synagogues τούς those πιστεύοντας believing ἐπί on σέ, You. καί And ὅτε when ἐξεχύννετο was poured out τό the αἷμα blood Στεφάνου of Stephen, τοῦ the μάρτυρος witness σου, of You, καί also αὐτός I myself ἤμην was ἐφεστώς standing by, καί and συνευδοκῶν consenting, καί and φυλάσσων watching over τά the ἱμάτια garments τῶν of those ἀναιρούντων killing αὐτόν. him. Paul. νῦν Now οὖν therefore ὑμεῖς you, ἐμφανίσατε make a report τῷ to the χιλιάρχῳ commander σύν along with τῷ the συνεδρίῳ Council, ὅπως so that καταγάγῃ he might bring down αὐτόν him εἰς to ὑμᾶς you, ὡς as μέλλοντας being about διαγινώσκειν to examine ἀκριβέστερον more earnestly τά the things περί about αὐτοῦ· him; ἡμεῖς we δέ then, πρό before τοῦ - ἐγγίσαι drawing near αὐτόν his, ἕτοιμοι ready ἐσμέν are τοῦ - ἀνελεῖν to kill αὐτόν. him. Ἐπιλαβόμενος Having taken hold δέ then τῆς the χειρός hand αὐτοῦ of him ὁ the χιλίαρχος commander, καί and ἀναχωρήσας having withdrawn κατ ̓ in ἰδίαν private, ἐπυνθάνετο, he began to inquire, Τί What ἐστίν is it ὅ that ἔχεις you have ἀπαγγεῖλαι to report μοι; to me? Εἶπεν He said δέ then ὅτι -, οἱ The Ἰουδαῖοι Jews συνέθεντο have agreed τοῦ - ἐρωτῆσαι to ask σε you ὅπως that αὔριον tomorrow τόν - Παῦλον Paul καταγάγῃς you might bring down εἰς into τό the συνέδριον Council, ὡς as μέλλον being about τὶ something ἀκριβέστερον more earnestly πυνθάνεσθαι to inquire περί about αὐτοῦ. him. σύ You οὖν therefore μή not πεισθῇς should be persuaded αὐτοῖς· by them. ἐνεδρεύουσιν Lie in wait γάρ indeed αὐτόν for him ἐκ of αὐτῶν them ἄνδρες men πλείους more than τεσσεράκοντα, forty, οἵτινες who ἀνεθεμάτισαν have put under an oath ἑαυτούς themselves μήτε neither φαγεῖν to eat μήτε nor πιεῖν to drink ἕως until οὗ that ἀνέλωσιν they have killed αὐτόν, him; καί and νῦν now εἰσίν they are ἕτοιμοι ready, προσδεχόμενοι awaiting τήν the ἀπό from σοῦ you ἐπαγγελίαν. promise. ὁ - μέν Indeed οὖν therefore χιλίαρχος the commander ἀπέλυσε dismissed τόν the νεανίσκον young man, παραγγείλας having instructed [him], Μηδενί No one ἐκλαλῆσαι tell ὅτι that ταῦτα these things ἐνεφάνισας you have reported πρός to ἐμέ. me.
