Καί And εἰσελθών having entered εἰς into τό the ἱερόν temple, ἤρξατο He began ἐκβάλλειν to cast out τούς those πωλοῦντας selling καί and τούς those ἀγοράζοντας buying ἐν in τῷ the ἱερῷ, temple; καί and τάς the τραπέζας tables τῶν of the κολλυβιστῶν money changers καί and τάς the καθέδρας seats τῶν of those πωλούντων selling τάς the περιστεράς doves κατέστρεψεν, He overturned. καί And οὐ not ἤφιεν He would permit ἵνα that τὶς anyone διενέγκῃ should carry σκεῦος a vessel διά through τοῦ the ἱεροῦ. temple. καί And ἐδίδασκεν He began teaching, καί and ἔλεγεν was saying αὐτοῖς· to them, οὐ Not γέγραπται has it been written ὅτι -: ὁ The οἶκος house μου of Me οἶκος a house προσευχῆς of prayer κληθήσεται will be called πᾶσιν for all τοῖς the ἔθνεσιν; nations’ ὑμεῖς You δέ however πεποιήκατε have made αὐτόν it Σπήλαιον a den λῃστῶν. of robbers.’

Καί And ἤκουσαν heard [it] οἱ the ἀρχιερεῖς chief priests καί and οἱ the γραμματεῖς scribes, καί and ἐζήτουν they were seeking πῶς how αὐτόν Him ἀπολέσωσιν· they might destroy; ἐφοβοῦντο they were afraid of γάρ for αὐτόν, Him; πᾶς all γάρ for ὁ the ὄχλος crowd ἐξεπλήσσετο was astonished ἐπί at τῇ the διδαχῇ teaching αὐτοῦ. of Him.

Καί And ὅταν when ὀψέ evening ἐγένετο, came, ἐξεπορεύοντο they were going forth ἔξω out of τῆς the πόλεως. city.

Καί And παραπορευόμενοι passing by πρωΐ in the morning, εἶδον they saw τήν the συκῆν fig tree ἐξηραμμένην having been dried up ἐκ from [the] ῥιζῶν. roots. καί And ἀναμνησθείς having remembered, ὁ - Πέτρος Peter λέγει says αὐτῷ· to Him, Ῥαββί, Rabbi, ἴδε look, ἡ the συκῆ fig tree ἥν that κατηράσω You cursed ἐξήρανται. is dried up. Καί And πάλιν again ἀπέστειλεν he sent πρός to αὐτούς them ἄλλον another δοῦλον· servant, κἀκεῖνον and him ἐκεφαλίωσαν they struck on the head καί and ἠτίμασαν. treated shamefully. καί And ἄλλον another ἀπέστειλεν· He sent, κἀκεῖνον and him ἀπέκτειναν, they killed; καί also πολλούς many ἄλλους, others, οὕς some μέν indeed δέροντες, beating, οὕς some δέ then ἀποκτέννοντες. killing. Καί And ἐζήτουν they were seeking αὐτόν Him κρατῆσαι, to lay hold of, καί and ἐφοβήθησαν they feared τόν the ὄχλον, crowd; ἔγνωσαν they knew γάρ for ὅτι that πρός against αὐτούς them τήν the παραβολήν parable εἶπεν. He had spoken. καί And ἀφέντες having left αὐτόν Him, ἀπῆλθον. they went away.

Καί And ἀποστέλλουσιν they send πρός to αὐτόν Him τινάς some τῶν of the Φαρισαίων Pharisees, καί and τῶν of the Ἡρῳδιανῶν Herodians, ἵνα that αὐτόν Him ἀγρεύσωσιν they might catch λόγῳ. in discourse. καί And ἐλθόντες having come, λέγουσιν they say αὐτῷ· to Him, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, οἴδαμεν we know ὅτι that ἀληθής true εἶ You are, καί and οὐ not μέλει there is care σοι to You περί about οὐδενός· no one; οὐ not γάρ for βλέπεις You look εἰς on [the] πρόσωπον appearance ἀνθρώπων, of men, ἀλλ ̓ but ἐπ ̓ on the basis of ἀληθείας [the] truth τήν the ὁδόν way τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God διδάσκεις· teach. ἔξεστιν Is it lawful δοῦναι to give κῆνσον tribute Καίσαρι to Caesar ἤ or οὔ; not? δῶμεν Should we pay ἤ or μή not δῶμεν; pay? ὁ - δέ And εἰδώς knowing αὐτῶν of them τήν the ὑπόκρισιν hypocrisy, εἶπεν He said αὐτοῖς· to them, Τί Why με Me πειράζετε; do you test? φέρετε Bring μοι Me δηνάριον a denarius, ἵνα that ἴδω. Caesar’s. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Τά The things Καίσαρος of Caesar, ἀπόδοτε give back Καίσαρι to Caesar, καί and τά the things τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God, τῷ - Θεῷ. to God. Καί And ἐξεθαύμαζον they were amazed ἐπ ̓ at αὐτῷ. Him.

Καί And ἔρχονται come Σαδδουκαῖοι Sadducees πρός to αὐτόν, Him, οἵτινες who λέγουσιν say ἀνάστασιν a resurrection μή not εἶναι, there is, καί and ἐπηρώτων they began questioning αὐτόν Him, λέγοντες· saying, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, Μωϋσῆς Moses ἔγραψεν wrote ἡμῖν for us ὅτι that ἐάν if τινός of anyone ἀδελφός a brother ἀποθάνῃ should die, καί and καταλίπῃ leave behind γυναῖκα a wife, καί and μή not ἀφῇ leave τέκνον, children, ἵνα that λάβῃ should take ὁ the ἀδελφός brother αὐτοῦ of him τήν the γυναῖκα wife, καί and ἐξαναστήσῃ raise up σπέρμα seed τῷ for the ἀδελφῷ brother αὐτοῦ. of him. ἑπτά Seven ἀδελφοί brothers ἦσαν· there were; καί and ὁ the πρῶτος first ἔλαβεν took γυναῖκα a wife, καί and, ἀποθνῄσκων dying, οὐ not ἀφῆκεν left σπέρμα· seed. καί And ὁ the δεύτερος second ἔλαβεν took αὐτήν her, καί and ἀπέθανεν died, μή not καταλιπών having left σπέρμα· seed; καί and ὁ the τρίτος third ὡσαύτως· likewise. καί And οἱ the ἑπτά seven οὐ not ἀφῆκαν left σπέρμα. seed. ἔσχατον Last πάντων of all καί also, ἡ the γυνή woman ἀπέθανεν. died. ἐν In τῇ the ἀναστάσει resurrection, ὅταν when ἀναστῶσιν they rise, τίνος of which αὐτῶν of them ἔσται will she be γυνή; wife? οἱ - γάρ For ἑπτά the seven ἔσχον had αὐτήν her γυναῖκα. as wife. Καί And προσελθών having come up εἷς one τῶν of the γραμματέων scribes, ἀκούσας having heard αὐτῶν them συζητούντων, reasoning together, ἰδών having seen ὅτι that καλῶς well ἀπεκρίθη He answered αὐτοῖς them, ἐπηρώτησεν he questioned αὐτόν· Him, Ποία Which ἐστίν is ἐντολή commandment πρώτη [the] first πάντων; of all? Ἀπεκρίθη Answered ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus, Ὅτι The Πρώτη foremost ἐστίν· is, Ἄκουε, Hear this Ἰσραήλ, O Israel: Κύριος [The] Lord ὁ - Θεός God ἡμῶν of us, Κύριος [the] Lord εἷς One ἐστίν, is, καί and ἀγαπήσεις you shall love Κύριον [the] Lord τόν - Θεόν God σου of you ἐκ with ὅλης all τῆς the καρδίας heart σου of you, καί and ἐκ with ὅλης all τῆς the ψυχῆς soul σου of you, καί and ἐκ with ὅλης all τῆς the διανοίας mind σου of you, καί and ἐκ with ὅλης all τῆς the ἰσχύος strength σου. of you.’ δευτέρα [The] second αὕτη· this: Ἀγαπήσεις You shall love τόν the πλησίον neighbor σου of you ὡς as σεαυτόν. yourself.’ μείζων Greater τούτων than these ἄλλη another ἐντολή commandment οὐ not ἔστιν. there is. Καί And εἶπεν said αὐτῷ to Him ὁ the γραμματεύς· scribe, Καλῶς, Right, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, ἐπ ̓ according to ἀληθείας truth εἶπες You have spoken ὅτι that εἷς One ἐστίν He is, καί and οὐ not ἔστιν there is ἄλλος another πλήν besides αὐτοῦ· Him, καί and τό - ἀγαπᾶν to love αὐτόν Him ἐκ with ὅλης all τῆς the καρδίας heart καί and ἐκ with ὅλης all τῆς the συνέσεως understanding καί and ἐκ with ὅλης all τῆς the ἰσχύος strength, καί and τό - ἀγαπᾶν to love τόν the πλησίον neighbor ὡς as ἑαυτόν oneself περισσότερον more important ἐστίν is πάντων than all τῶν the ὁλοκαυτωμάτων burnt offerings καί and θυσιῶν. sacrifices. Καί And ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus, ἰδών having seen αὐτόν him ὅτι that νουνεχῶς wisely ἀπεκρίθη he answered, εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to him, οὐ Not μακράν far εἶ are you ἀπό from τῆς the βασιλείας kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ. of God. καί And οὐδείς no one οὐκέτι no longer ἐτόλμα dared αὐτόν Him ἐπερωτῆσαι. to question.

Καί And ἀποκριθείς answering, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἔλεγεν was saying, διδάσκων teaching ἐν in τῷ the ἱερῷ· temple, Πῶς How λέγουσιν say οἱ the γραμματεῖς scribes ὅτι that ὁ the Χριστός Christ, υἱός [the] son Δαυίδ of David ἐστίν; is? αὐτός Himself Δαυίδ David εἶπεν said ἐν by τῷ the Πνεύματι Spirit τῷ - Ἁγίῳ· Holy: Εἶπεν Said Κύριος [the] Lord τῷ to the Κυρίῳ Lord μου· of me, Κάθου Sit ἐκ at δεξιῶν [the] right hand μου, of Me, Ἕως until ἄν - θῶ I place τούς of the ἐχθρούς enemies σου of You Ὑποκάτω [as] a footstool τῶν of the ποδῶν feet σου. of You.”’

Αὐτός Himself Δαυίδ David λέγει calls αὐτόν Him Κύριον, Lord, καί then πόθεν how αὐτοῦ of him ἐστίν is He υἱός; son?

Καί And ὁ the πολύς great ὄχλος crowd ἤκουεν was listening αὐτοῦ to Him ἡδέως. gladly.

Καί And ἐν in τῇ the διδαχῇ teaching αὐτοῦ of Him, ἔλεγεν· He was saying, Βλέπετε Beware ἀπό of τῶν the γραμματέων scribes, τῶν - θελόντων desiring ἐν in στολαῖς robes περιπατεῖν to walk about, καί and ἀσπασμούς greetings ἐν in ταῖς the ἀγοραῖς marketplaces, καί and πρωτοκαθεδρίας first seats ἐν in ταῖς the συναγωγαῖς synagogues, καί and πρωτοκλισίας first places ἐν at τοῖς the δείπνοις, feasts; οἱ those κατεσθίοντες devouring τάς the οἰκίας houses τῶν of the χηρῶν widows, καί and προφάσει as a pretext, μακρά at great length προσευχόμενοι· praying. οὗτοι These λήμψονται will receive περισσότερον greater κρίμα. judgment.
