Καί And ταῦτα these things εἰπών having said, θείς having bowed τά the γόνατα knee αὐτοῦ of him, σύν with πᾶσιν all αὐτοῖς them προσηύξατο. he prayed. ἱκανός Much δέ then κλαυθμός weeping ἐγένετο there was πάντων among all; καί and ἐπιπεσόντες having fallen ἐπί upon τόν the τράχηλον neck τοῦ - Παύλου of Paul, κατεφίλουν they were kissing αὐτόν, him, ὀδυνώμενοι sorrowing μάλιστα especially ἐπί over τῷ the λόγῳ word ᾧ that εἰρήκει, he had spoken, ὅτι that οὐκέτι no more μέλλουσιν they are about τό the πρόσωπον face αὐτοῦ of him θεωρεῖν. to see. προέπεμπον They accompanied δέ then αὐτόν him εἰς to τό the πλοῖον. ship.
ὡς After δέ then ἐγένετο it happened ἀναχθῆναι sailing ἡμᾶς our, ἀποσπασθέντας having drawn away ἀπ ̓ from αὐτῶν, them, εὐθυδρομήσαντες having run directly ἤλθομεν we came εἰς to τήν - Κῶ, Cos, τῇ - δέ and ἑξῆς the next [day] εἰς to τήν - Ῥόδον Rhodes, κἀκεῖθεν and from there εἰς to Πάταρα, Patara. καί And εὑρόντες having found πλοῖον a boat διαπερῶν passing over εἰς into Φοινίκην Phoenicia, ἐπιβάντες having gone on board, ἀνήχθημεν. we set sail. ἀναφάναντες Having sighted δέ then τήν - Κύπρον Cyprus καί and καταλιπόντες having left αὐτήν it εὐώνυμον on the left, ἐπλέομεν we kept sailing εἰς to Συρίαν Syria καί and κατήλθομεν landed εἰς at Τύρον· Tyre. ἐκεῖσε There γάρ for τό the πλοῖον ship ἦν was ἀποφορτιζόμενον unloading τόν the γόμον. cargo. Ἀνευρόντες Having sought out δέ then τούς the μαθητάς disciples, ἐπεμείναμεν we remained αὐτοῦ there ἡμέρας days ἑπτά, seven, οἵτινες who τῷ - Παύλῳ to Paul ἔλεγον kept telling διά through τοῦ the Πνεύματος Spirit μή not ἐπιβαίνειν to go up εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα. Jerusalem. ὅτε When δέ then ἐγένετο it happened that ἡμᾶς we ἐξαρτίσαι had completed τάς the ἡμέρας, days, ἐξελθόντες having set out, ἐπορευόμεθα we journeyed, προπεμπόντων accompanying ἡμᾶς us πάντων all σύν with γυναιξί wives καί and τέκνοις children, ἕως as far as ἔξω outside τῆς the πόλεως, city. καί And θέντες having bowed τά the γόνατα knees ἐπί on τόν the αἰγιαλόν shore, προσευξάμενοι having prayed, ἀπησπασάμεθα having said farewell ἀλλήλους to one another, καί then ἀνέβημεν we went up εἰς into τό the πλοῖον, boat; ἐκεῖνοι they δέ then ὑπέστρεψαν returned εἰς to τά the ἴδια. own.
Ἡμεῖς We δέ then, τόν the πλοῦν voyage διανύσαντες having completed ἀπό from Τύρου Tyre, κατηντήσαμεν came down εἰς to Πτολεμαΐδα Ptolemais, καί and ἀσπασάμενοι having greeted τούς the ἀδελφούς brothers, ἐμείναμεν we stayed ἡμέραν day μίαν one παρ ̓ with αὐτοῖς. them. Τῇ On the δέ now ἐπαύριον next day, ἐξελθόντες having gone forth, ἤλθομεν we came εἰς to Καισάρειαν Caesarea; καί and εἰσελθόντες having entered εἰς into τόν the οἶκον house Φιλίππου of Philip τοῦ the εὐαγγελιστοῦ, evangelist, ὄντος being ἐκ of τῶν the ἑπτά, seven, ἐμείναμεν we stayed παρ ̓ with αὐτῷ. him. τούτῳ With this [man] δέ now ἦσαν there were θυγατέρες daughters τέσσαρες four, παρθένοι virgins, προφητεύουσαι. prophesying. Ἐπιμενόντων Remaining δέ now ἡμέρας days πλείους many, κατῆλθεν came down τὶς a certain one ἀπό from τῆς - Ἰουδαίας Judea, προφήτης a prophet ὀνόματι named Ἅγαβος, Agabus; καί and ἐλθών having come πρός to ἡμᾶς us, καί and ἄρας having taken τήν the ζώνην belt τοῦ - Παύλου, of Paul, δήσας having bound ἑαυτοῦ of himself τούς the πόδας feet καί and τάς the χεῖρας hands, εἶπεν· he said, Τάδε Thus λέγει says τό the Πνεῦμα Spirit τό - Ἅγιον· Holy, Τόν The ἄνδρα man οὗ of whom ἐστίν is ἡ the ζώνη belt αὕτη, this, οὕτως in this way δήσουσιν will bind ἐν in Ἰερουσαλήμ Jerusalem οἱ the Ἰουδαῖοι Jews καί and παραδώσουσιν will deliver [him] εἰς into χεῖρας [the] hands ἐθνῶν. of [the] Gentiles. ὡς When δέ then ἠκούσαμεν we had heard ταῦτα, these things, παρεκαλοῦμεν began begging ἡμεῖς we τέ both καί and οἱ those ἐντόπιοι of that place, τοῦ - μή not ἀναβαίνειν to go up αὐτόν him εἰς to Ἰερουσαλήμ. Jerusalem. Τότε Then ἀπεκρίθη answered ὁ - Παῦλος· Paul, Τί What ποιεῖτε are you doing, κλαίοντες weeping καί and συνθρύπτοντες breaking μου my τήν - καρδίαν; heart? ἐγώ I γάρ for οὐ not μόνον only δεθῆναι to be bound, ἀλλά but καί also ἀποθανεῖν to die εἰς at Ἰερουσαλήμ Jerusalem, ἑτοίμως readiness ἔχω have, ὑπέρ for τοῦ the ὀνόματος name τοῦ of the Κυρίου Lord Ἰησοῦ. Μετά After δέ now τάς the ἡμέρας days ταύτας these, ἐπισκευασάμενοι having packed the baggage, ἀνεβαίνομεν we started on our way up εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα· Jerusalem. συνῆλθον Went δέ then καί also [some] τῶν of the μαθητῶν disciples ἀπό from Καισαρείας Caesarea σύν with ἡμῖν, us, ἄγοντες bringing [one] παρ ̓ with ᾧ whom ξενισθῶμεν we would lodge, Μνάσωνι Mnason, τινί a certain Κυπρίῳ, Cypriot, ἀρχαίῳ an early μαθητῇ. disciple.
