Jerusalem. ἐν In δέ now τῷ - πορεύεσθαι proceeding, ἐγένετο it came to pass αὐτόν [as] he ἐγγίζειν draws near τῇ - Δαμασκῷ, to Damascus, ἐξαίφνης suddenly τέ also αὐτόν him περιήστραψεν flashed around φῶς a light ἐκ from τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ heaven. καί And πεσών having fallen ἐπί on τήν the γῆν ground, ἤκουσεν he heard φωνήν a voice λέγουσαν saying αὐτῷ· to him, Σαούλ Saul, Σαούλ, Saul, τί why με Me διώκεις; do you persecute? Damascus. καί And ἦν he was ἡμέρας days τρεῖς three μή without βλέπων seeing, καί and οὐ neither ἔφαγεν did he eat οὐδέ nor ἔπιεν. drink.
Ἦν There was δέ now τὶς a certain μαθητής disciple ἐν in Δαμασκῷ Damascus ὀνόματι named Ἁνανίας, Ananias. καί And εἶπεν said πρός to αὐτόν him ἐν in ὁράματι a vision ὁ the Κύριος· Lord, Ἁνανία. Ananias. ὁ - δέ And εἶπεν· he said, Ἰδού Behold ἐγώ, me, Κύριε. Lord. ὁ - δέ And Κύριος the Lord πρός to αὐτόν· him [said], Ἀναστάς Having risen up, πορεύθητι go ἐπί into τήν the ῥύμην street τήν - καλουμένην called Εὐθεῖαν Straight, καί and ζήτησον seek ἐν in οἰκίᾳ [the] house Ἰούδα of Judas Σαῦλον Saul ὀνόματι named, Ταρσέα· of Tarsus. ἰδού Behold γάρ for προσεύχεται he is praying, καί and εἶδεν he saw ἄνδρα a man ἐν in ὁράματι a vision Ἁνανίαν Ananias ὀνόματι named, εἰσελθόντα having come καί and ἐπιθέντα having put αὐτῷ on him τάς the χεῖρας hands, ὅπως so that ἀναβλέψῃ. he might see again. Ἀπεκρίθη Answered δέ but Ἁνανίας· Ananias, Κύριε, Lord, ἤκουσα I have heard ἀπό from πολλῶν many περί concerning τοῦ the ἀνδρός man τούτου this, ὅσα how many κακά evils τοῖς to ἁγίοις saints σου of You ἐποίησεν he did ἐν in Ἰερουσαλήμ· Jerusalem; καί and ὧδε here ἔχει he has ἐξουσίαν authority παρά from τῶν the ἀρχιερέων chief priests δῆσαι to bind πάντας all τούς those ἐπικαλουμένους calling on τό the ὄνομα name σου. of You. Εἶπεν Said δέ however πρός to αὐτόν him ὁ the Κύριος· Lord, Πορεύου, Go, ὅτι for σκεῦος a vessel ἐκλογῆς of choice ἐστίν is μοι to Me οὗτος this [man], τοῦ - βαστάσαι to carry τό the ὄνομα name μου of Me ἐνώπιον before ἐθνῶν [the] Gentiles, τέ and καί also βασιλέων kings, υἱῶν [the] sons τέ then Ἰσραήλ· of Israel; ἐγώ I γάρ for ὑποδείξω will show αὐτῷ to him ὅσα how much δεῖ it behooves αὐτόν him ὑπέρ for τοῦ the ὀνόματος name μου of Me παθεῖν. to suffer. Ἀπῆλθεν Went away δέ then Ἁνανίας Ananias καί and εἰσῆλθεν entered εἰς into τήν the οἰκίαν house; καί and ἐπιθείς having laid ἐπ ̓ upon αὐτόν him τάς the χεῖρας hands, εἶπεν· he said, Σαούλ Saul ἀδελφέ, Brother, ὁ the Κύριος Lord ἀπέσταλκεν has sent με, me, Ἰησοῦς Jesus, ὁ the [One] ὀφθείς having appeared σοι to you ἐν on τῇ the ὁδῷ road ᾗ by which ἤρχου, you were coming, ὅπως that ἀναβλέψῃς you may see again καί and πλησθῇς be filled Πνεύματος [of the] Spirit Ἁγίου. Holy. Καί And εὐθέως immediately ἀπέπεσαν fell αὐτοῦ of him ἀπό from τῶν the ὀφθαλμῶν eyes ὡς [something] like λεπίδες, scales, ἀνέβλεψεν he regained his sight τέ also. καί And ἀναστάς having risen up, ἐβαπτίσθη he was baptized; καί and λαβών having taken τροφήν food, ἐνίσχυσεν. he was strengthened.
Ἐγένετο He was δέ now μετά with τῶν the ἐν in Δαμασκῷ Damascus μαθητῶν disciples ἡμέρας days τινάς some. Καί And εὐθέως immediately ἐν in ταῖς the συναγωγαῖς synagogues ἐκήρυσσεν he began proclaiming τόν - Ἰησοῦν Jesus, ὅτι that οὗτος He ἐστίν is ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - Θεοῦ. of God. Ἐξίσταντο Were amazed δέ then πάντες all οἱ - ἀκούοντες hearing, καί and ἔλεγον· were saying, οὐχ Not οὗτος this ἐστίν is ὁ the [one] πορθήσας having ravaged εἰς in Ἰερουσαλήμ Jerusalem τούς those ἐπικαλουμένους calling on τό the ὄνομα name τοῦτο, this? καί And ὧδε here εἰς for τοῦτο this ἐληλύθει he had come, ἵνα that δεδεμένους having been bound, αὐτούς them ἀγάγῃ he might bring ἐπί to τούς the ἀρχιερεῖς; chief priests. Σαῦλος Saul δέ however μᾶλλον all the more ἐνεδυναμοῦτο was empowered, καί and συνέχυννεν kept confounding τούς the Ἰουδαίους Jews τούς - κατοικοῦντας dwelling ἐν in Δαμασκῷ Damascus, συμβιβάζων proving ὅτι that οὗτος this ἐστίν is ὁ the Χριστός. ὡς When δέ now ἐπληροῦντο had passed ἡμέραι days ἱκαναί, many, συνεβουλεύσαντο plotted together οἱ the Ἰουδαῖοι Jews ἀνελεῖν to kill αὐτόν· him; ἐγνώσθη became known δέ however τῷ - Σαύλῳ to Saul ἡ the ἐπιβουλή plot αὐτῶν. of them. παρετηροῦντο They were closely watching δέ now καί also τάς the πύλας gates ἡμέρας day τέ and καί also νυκτός night, ὅπως so that αὐτόν him ἀνέλωσιν· they might kill; λαβόντες having taken [him] δέ however οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ of him νυκτός by night, διά through τοῦ the τείχους wall καθῆκαν they let down αὐτόν him, χαλάσαντες having lowered [him] ἐν in σπυρίδι. a basket.

Βαρνάβας Barnabas δέ however, ἐπιλαβόμενος having taken αὐτόν him, ἤγαγεν brought [him] πρός to τούς the ἀποστόλους apostles, καί and διηγήσατο he related αὐτοῖς to them πῶς how ἐν on τῇ the ὁδῷ road εἶδεν he had seen τόν the Κύριον Lord, καί and ὅτι that ἐλάλησεν He had spoken αὐτῷ to him, καί and πῶς how ἐν in Δαμασκῷ Damascus ἐπαρρησιάσατο he had spoken boldly ἐν in τῷ the ὀνόματι name τοῦ - Ἰησοῦ. of Jesus. Καί And ἦν he was μετ ̓ with αὐτῶν them, εἰσπορευόμενος coming in καί and ἐκπορευόμενος going out εἰς in Ἰερουσαλήμ, Jerusalem, παρρησιαζόμενος speaking boldly ἐν in τῷ the ὀνόματι name τοῦ of Κυρίου, [the] Lord. ἐλάλει He was speaking τέ also καί and συνεζήτει was debating πρός with τούς the Ἑλληνιστάς, Hellenists; οἱ - δέ but ἐπεχείρουν they were seeking ἀνελεῖν to kill αὐτόν. him. ἐπιγνόντες Having known [it] δέ however, οἱ the ἀδελφοί brothers κατήγαγον brought down αὐτόν him εἰς to Καισάρειαν Caesarea καί and ἐξαπέστειλαν sent away αὐτόν him εἰς to Ταρσόν. Tarsus.
ἡ The μέν indeed οὖν then ἐκκλησία church καθ ̓ throughout ὅλης all τῆς - Ἰουδαίας of Judea, καί and Γαλιλαίας Galilee, καί and Σαμαρείας Samaria, εἶχεν had εἰρήνην peace, οἰκοδομουμένη being edified καί and πορευομένη going on τῷ in the φόβῳ fear τοῦ of the Κυρίου Lord; καί and τῇ in the παρακλήσει comfort τοῦ of the Ἁγίου Holy Πνεύματος Spirit ἐπληθύνετο. they were multiplied.
Ἐγένετο It came to pass that δέ now Πέτρον Peter, διερχόμενον passing διά through πάντων all [quarters], κατελθεῖν went down καί also πρός to τούς the ἁγίους saints τούς - κατοικοῦντας inhabiting Λύδδα.
