Θωμᾶς Thomas δέ however, εἷς one ἐκ of τῶν the δώδεκα, Twelve, ὁ the [one] λεγόμενος called Δίδυμος, Didymus, οὐ not ἦν was μετ ̓ with αὐτῶν them ὅτε when ἦλθεν came Ἰησοῦς. Jesus. ἔλεγον Were saying οὖν therefore αὐτῷ to him οἱ the ἄλλοι other μαθηταί· disciples, Ἑωράκαμεν We have seen τόν the Κύριον. Lord. ὁ - δέ But εἶπεν he said αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἐάν If μή not ἴδω I see ἐν in ταῖς the χερσίν hands αὐτοῦ of Him τόν the τύπον mark τῶν of the ἥλων nails, καί and βάλω put τόν the δάκτυλον finger μου of me εἰς into τόν the τύπον mark τῶν of the ἥλων nails, καί and βάλω put μου of me τήν the χεῖρα hand εἰς into τήν the πλευράν side αὐτοῦ, of Him, οὐ no μή not πιστεύσω. will I believe. Καί And μεθ ̓ after ἡμέρας days ὀκτώ eight πάλιν again ἦσαν were ἔσω inside οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ of Him, καί and Θωμᾶς Thomas μετ ̓ with αὐτῶν. them. ἔρχεται Comes ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus, τῶν the θυρῶν doors κεκλεισμένων having been shut. καί And ἔστη He stood εἰς in τό the μέσον midst καί and εἶπεν· said, Εἰρήνη Peace ὑμῖν. to you. εἶτα Then λέγει He says τῷ - Θωμᾷ· to Thomas, Φέρε Bring τόν the δάκτυλον finger σου of you ὧδε here, καί and ἴδε see τάς the χεῖρας hands μου of Me; καί and φέρε bring τήν the χεῖρα hand σου of you, καί and βάλε put [it] εἰς into τήν the πλευράν side μου, of Me; καί and μή not γίνου be ἄπιστος unbelieving, ἀλλά but πιστός. believing. Ἀπεκρίθη Answered Θωμᾶς Thomas καί and εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to Him, ὁ The Κύριος Lord μου of Me καί and ὁ the Θεός God μου. of me! Λέγει Says αὐτῷ to him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ὅτι Because ἑώρακας you have seen με Me, πεπίστευκας; you have believed; μακάριοι blessed [are] οἱ those μή not ἰδόντες having seen, καί yet πιστεύσαντες. having believed.
Πολλά Many μέν indeed οὖν therefore καί also ἄλλα other σημεῖα signs ἐποίησεν did ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐνώπιον in the presence τῶν of the μαθητῶν disciples αὐτοῦ, of Him, ἅ which οὐ not ἔστιν are γεγραμμένα written ἐν in τῷ the βιβλίῳ book τούτῳ· this; ταῦτα these δέ however γέγραπται have been written ἵνα that πιστεύητε you may believe ὅτι that Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐστίν is ὁ the Χριστός Christ, ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - Θεοῦ, of God, καί and ἵνα that πιστεύοντες believing, ζωήν life ἔχητε you may have ἐν in τῷ the ὀνόματι name αὐτοῦ. of Him.
Μετά After ταῦτα these things, ἐφανέρωσεν revealed ἑαυτόν Himself πάλιν again ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus τοῖς to the μαθηταῖς disciples ἐπί at τῆς the θαλάσσης sea τῆς - Τιβεριάδος· of Tiberias. ἐφανέρωσεν He revealed [Himself] δέ now οὕτως. in this way: ἦσαν They were ὁμοῦ together, Σίμων Simon Πέτρος Peter, καί and Θωμᾶς Thomas ὁ - λεγόμενος called Δίδυμος Didymus, καί and Ναθαναήλ Nathanael ὁ - ἀπό from Κανᾶ Cana τῆς - Γαλιλαίας of Galilee, καί and οἱ the [sons] τοῦ - Ζεβεδαίου of Zebedee, καί and ἄλλοι others ἐκ of τῶν the μαθητῶν disciples αὐτοῦ His δύο. two. λέγει Says αὐτοῖς to them Σίμων Simon Πέτρος· Peter, Ὑπάγω I am going ἁλιεύειν. to fish. Λέγουσιν They say αὐτῷ· to him, Ἐρχόμεθα Come καί also ἡμεῖς we σύν with σοί. you. ἐξῆλθον They went forth καί and ἐνέβησαν went up εἰς into τό the πλοῖον, boat, καί and ἐν during ἐκείνῃ that τῇ - νυκτί night ἐπίασαν they caught οὐδέν. nothing. Πρωΐας Morning δέ now ἤδη already γενομένης having come, ἔστη stood Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἰς on τόν the αἰγιαλόν, shore; οὐ not μέντοι however ᾔδεισαν knew οἱ the μαθηταί disciples ὅτι that Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐστίν. it is. λέγει Says οὖν therefore αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Παιδία, Children, μή not τὶ any προσφάγιον fish ἔχετε; have you? Ἀπεκρίθησαν They answered αὐτῷ· Him, Οὔ. No. ὁ - δέ And εἶπεν He said αὐτοῖς· to them, Βάλετε Cast εἰς to τά the δεξιά right μέρη side τοῦ of the πλοίου boat τό the δίκτυον, net, καί and εὑρήσετε. you will find [some]. ἔβαλον They cast οὖν, therefore, καί and οὐκέτι not αὐτό it ἑλκύσαι to haul in ἴσχυον were they able, ἀπό from τοῦ the πλήθους multitude τῶν of the ἰχθύων. fish. Λέγει Says οὖν therefore ὁ the μαθητής disciple ἐκεῖνος that ὅν whom ἠγάπα loved ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus τῷ - Πέτρῳ· to Peter, ὁ The Κύριος Lord ἐστίν. it is. Σίμων Simon οὖν therefore Πέτρος Peter, ἀκούσας having heard ὅτι that ὁ the Κύριος Lord ἐστίν it is, τόν the ἐπενδύτην outer garment διεζώσατο, put on ἦν he was γάρ for γυμνός, naked καί and ἔβαλεν he cast ἑαυτόν himself εἰς into τήν the θάλασσαν, sea. οἱ - δέ And ἄλλοι the other μαθηταί disciples τῷ in the πλοιαρίῳ boat ἦλθον, came, οὐ not γάρ for ἦσαν were they μακράν far ἀπό from τῆς the γῆς land, ἀλλά but ὡς about ἀπό away πηχῶν cubits διακοσίων, two hundred, σύροντες dragging τό the δίκτυον net τῶν with the ἰχθύων. fish. ὡς When οὖν therefore ἀπέβησαν they got out εἰς onto τήν the γῆν land, βλέπουσιν they see ἀνθρακιάν a fire of coals κειμένην lying, καί and ὀψάριον fish ἐπικείμενον lying on [it], καί and ἄρτον. bread. Λέγει Says αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ἐνέγκατε Bring ἀπό [some] of τῶν the ὀψαρίων fish ὧν that ἐπιάσατε you have caught νῦν. now. ἀνέβη Went up οὖν therefore Σίμων Simon Πέτρος Peter καί and εἵλκυσεν drew τό the δίκτυον net εἰς to τήν the γῆν land, μεστόν full ἰχθύων of fish μεγάλων large, ἑκατόν a hundred πεντήκοντα fifty τριῶν· three; καί although τοσούτων so many ὄντων there are, οὐ not ἐσχίσθη was torn τό the δίκτυον. net. Λέγει Says αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Δεῦτε Come, ἀριστήσατε. have breakfast. οὐδείς None δέ however ἐτόλμα dared τῶν of the μαθητῶν disciples ἐξετάσαι to ask αὐτόν· Him, Σύ You τίς who εἶ; are? εἰδότες knowing ὅτι that ὁ the Κύριος Lord ἐστίν. it is. ἔρχεται Comes Ἰησοῦς Jesus καί and λαμβάνει takes τόν the ἄρτον bread καί and δίδωσιν gives [it] αὐτοῖς, to them, καί and τό the ὀψάριον fish ὁμοίως. likewise. Τοῦτο This [is] ἤδη now τρίτον the third time ἐφανερώθη was revealed Ἰησοῦς Jesus τοῖς to the μαθηταῖς disciples, ἐγερθείς having been raised ἐκ out from νεκρῶν. [the] dead.
Ὅτε When οὖν therefore ἠρίστησαν they had dined, λέγει says τῷ - Σίμωνι to Simon Πέτρῳ Peter ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Σίμων Simon Ἰωάννου, [son] of John, ἀγαπᾷς love you με Me πλέον more τούτων; than these? Λέγει He says αὐτῷ· to Him, Ναί Yes, Κύριε, Lord; σύ You οἶδας know ὅτι that φιλῶ I dearly love σε. You. Λέγει He says αὐτῷ· to him, Βόσκε Feed τά the ἀρνία lambs μου. of Me. Λέγει He says αὐτῷ to him πάλιν again δεύτερον· a second time, Σίμων Simon Ἰωάννου, [son] of John, ἀγαπᾷς love you με; Me? Λέγει He says αὐτῷ· to Him, Ναί Yes, Κύριε, Lord; σύ You οἶδας know ὅτι that φιλῶ I dearly love σε. You. Λέγει He says αὐτῷ· to him, Ποίμαινε Shepherd τά the πρόβατα sheep μου. of Me. Λέγει He says αὐτῷ to him τό the τρίτον· third time, Σίμων Simon Ἰωάννου, [son] of John, φιλεῖς do you dearly love με; Me? Ἐλυπήθη Was grieved ὁ - Πέτρος Peter ὅτι because εἶπεν He said αὐτῷ to him τό the τρίτον· third time, Φιλεῖς Do you dearly love με; Me? Καί And λέγει he said αὐτῷ· to Him, Κύριε, Lord, πάντα all things σύ You οἶδας, know; σύ You γινώσκεις know ὅτι that φιλῶ I dearly love σε. You. Λέγει Says αὐτῷ to him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Βόσκε Feed τά the πρόβατα sheep μου. of Me. Ἀμήν Truly, ἀμήν truly, λέγω I say σοι, to you, ὅτε When ἦς you were νεώτερος, younger, ἐζώννυες you dressed σεαυτόν yourself καί and περιεπάτεις walked ὅπου where ἤθελες· you desired; ὅταν when δέ however γηράσῃς, you shall be old, ἐκτενεῖς you will stretch forth τάς the χεῖρας hands σου, of you, καί and ἄλλος another σε you ζώσει will dress καί and οἴσει will bring [you] ὅπου where οὐ not θέλεις. you do desire. τοῦτο This δέ now εἶπεν He said σημαίνων signifying ποίῳ by what θανάτῳ death δοξάσει he will glorify τόν - Θεόν. God. Καί And τοῦτο this εἰπών having said, λέγει He says αὐτῷ· to him, Ἀκολούθει Follow μοι. Me.
Ἐπιστραφείς Having turned, ὁ - Πέτρος Peter βλέπει sees τόν the μαθητήν disciple ὅν whom ἠγάπα loved ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἀκολουθοῦντα, following, ὅς who καί also ἀνέπεσεν had reclined ἐν at τῷ the δείπνῳ supper ἐπί on τό the στῆθος bosom αὐτοῦ of Him, καί and εἶπεν· said, Κύριε, Lord, τίς who ἐστίν is it ὁ who παραδιδούς is betraying σε; You? τοῦτον Him οὖν therefore ἰδών having seen, ὁ - Πέτρος Peter λέγει says τῷ - Ἰησοῦ· to Jesus, Κύριε, Lord, οὗτος this man δέ and τί; what about? Λέγει Says αὐτῷ to him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ἐάν If αὐτόν him θέλω I desire μένειν to remain ἕως until ἔρχομαι, I come, τί what [is it] πρός to σέ; you? σύ You μοι Me ἀκολούθει. follow! ἐξῆλθεν Went out οὖν therefore οὗτος this ὁ - λόγος saying εἰς among τούς the ἀδελφούς brothers, ὅτι that ὁ the μαθητής disciple ἐκεῖνος that, οὐ not ἀποθνήσκει· dies. οὐ Not εἶπεν said δέ however αὐτῷ to him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ὅτι that οὐ not ἀποθνήσκει he dies, ἀλλ ̓· but, Ἐάν If αὐτόν him θέλω I desire μένειν to remain ἕως until ἔρχομαι, I come, τί what [is it] πρός to σέ; you? Οὗτος This ἐστίν is ὁ the μαθητής disciple ὁ - μαρτυρῶν bearing witness περί concerning τούτων these things, καί and ὁ the [one] γράψας having written ταῦτα, these things, καί and οἴδαμεν we know ὅτι that ἀληθής true αὐτοῦ of him ἡ the μαρτυρία testimony ἐστίν. is. Ἔστιν There are δέ now καί also ἄλλα other things πολλά many ἅ that ἐποίησεν did ὁ - Ἰησοῦς, Jesus, ἅτινα which ἐάν if γράφηται they should be written καθ ̓ every ἕν, one, οὐδ ̓ not even αὐτόν itself οἶμαι I suppose τόν the κόσμον world χωρήσειν to have space τά for the γραφόμενα to be written βιβλία. books.
