Ἀπεκρίθη Answered αὐτοῖς them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus καί and εἶπεν· said, Ἀμήν Truly, ἀμήν truly, λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, ζητεῖτε you seek με Me, οὐ not ὅτι because εἴδετε you saw σημεῖα, signs, ἀλλ ̓ but ὅτι because ἐφάγετε you ate ἐκ of τῶν the ἄρτων loaves καί and ἐχορτάσθητε. were satisfied. ἐργάζεσθε Work μή not [for] τήν the βρῶσιν food τήν that ἀπολλυμένην is perishing, ἀλλά but [for] τήν the βρῶσιν food τήν - μένουσαν enduring εἰς unto ζωήν life αἰώνιον, eternal, ἥν which ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man ὑμῖν to you δώσει· will give. τοῦτον Him γάρ for ὁ the Πατήρ Father ἐσφράγισεν has sealed, ὁ - Θεός. Ἀπεκρίθη Answered ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus καί and εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Τοῦτο This ἐστίν is τό the ἔργον work τοῦ - Θεοῦ, of God, ἵνα that πιστεύητε you should believe εἰς in ὅν Him whom ἀπέστειλεν has sent ἐκεῖνος. Εἶπον They said οὖν therefore αὐτῷ· to Him, Τί What οὖν then ποιεῖς do σύ You σημεῖον, [as a] sign, ἵνα that ἴδωμεν we may see καί and πιστεύσωμεν may believe σοι; You? τί What ἐργάζῃ; work do You perform? οἱ The πατέρες fathers ἡμῶν of us τό the μάννα manna ἔφαγον ate ἐν in τῇ the ἐρήμῳ, wilderness, καθώς as ἐστίν it is γεγραμμένον· written: Ἄρτον Bread ἐκ from τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ heaven ἔδωκεν He gave αὐτοῖς them φαγεῖν. to eat.’ Εἶπεν Said οὖν therefore αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ἀμήν Truly, ἀμήν truly, λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, οὐ not Μωϋσῆς Moses δέδωκεν has given ὑμῖν you τόν the ἄρτον bread ἐκ from τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ, heaven, ἀλλ ̓ but ὁ the Πατήρ Father μου of Me δίδωσιν gives ὑμῖν you τόν the ἄρτον bread ἐκ from τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ heaven τόν - ἀληθινόν· true. ὁ The γάρ for ἄρτος bread τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God ἐστίν is ὁ the [One] καταβαίνων coming down ἐκ out of τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ heaven καί and ζωήν life διδούς giving τῷ to the κόσμῳ. world. Εἶπον They said οὖν therefore πρός to αὐτόν· Him, Κύριε, Sir, πάντοτε always δός give ἡμῖν to us τόν the ἄρτον bread τοῦτον. this. Εἶπεν Said αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ἐγώ I εἰμί am ὁ the ἄρτος bread τῆς - ζωῆς· of life; ὁ the [one] ἐρχόμενος coming πρός to ἐμέ Me οὐ never μή not πεινάσῃ, shall hunger, καί and ὁ the [one] πιστεύων believing εἰς in ἐμέ Me οὐ no μή not διψήσει shall thirst πώποτε. at any time.

Ἐγόγγυζον Were grumbling οὖν therefore οἱ the Ἰουδαῖοι Jews περί about αὐτοῦ Him ὅτι because εἶπεν· He said, Ἐγώ I εἰμί am ὁ the ἄρτος bread ὁ - καταβάς having come down ἐκ from τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ, heaven. καί And ἔλεγον· they were saying, οὐχ Not οὗτος this ἐστίν is Ἰησοῦς Jesus ὁ the υἱός son Ἰωσήφ, of Joseph, οὗ of whom ἡμεῖς we οἴδαμεν know τόν the πατέρα father καί and τήν the μητέρα; mother? πῶς How νῦν then λέγει says He ὅτι -, ἐκ From τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ heaven καταβέβηκα; I have come down? Ἐμάχοντο Were arguing οὖν therefore πρός with ἀλλήλους one another οἱ the Ἰουδαῖοι Jews, λέγοντες· saying, Πῶς How δύναται is able οὗτος this [man] ἡμῖν us δοῦναι to give τήν the σάρκα flesh αὐτοῦ of Him φαγεῖν; to eat? Εἶπεν Said οὖν therefore αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ἀμήν Truly, ἀμήν truly, λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, ἐάν if μή not φάγητε you shall have eaten τήν the σάρκα flesh τοῦ of the Υἱοῦ Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man, καί and πίητε shall have drunk αὐτοῦ of Him τό the αἷμα, blood, οὐ not ἔχετε you have ζωήν life ἐν in ἑαυτοῖς. yourselves. ὁ The [one] τρώγων eating μου of Me τήν the σάρκα flesh, καί and πίνων drinking μου of Me τό the αἷμα blood, ἔχει has ζωήν life αἰώνιον, eternal, κἀγώ and I ἀναστήσω will raise up αὐτόν him τῇ in the ἐσχάτῃ last ἡμέρᾳ. day. ἡ The γάρ for σάρξ flesh μου of Me, ἀληθής true ἐστίν is βρῶσις, food, καί and τό the αἷμα blood μου of Me, ἀληθής true ἐστίν is πόσις. drink. ὁ The [one] τρώγων eating μου of Me τήν the σάρκα flesh καί and πίνων drinking μου of Me τό the αἷμα blood, ἐν in ἐμοί Me μένει abides, κἀγώ and I ἐν in αὐτῷ. him. καθώς As ἀπέστειλεν sent με Me ὁ the ζῶν living Πατήρ Father, κἀγώ and I ζῶ live διά because of τόν the Πατέρα, Father, καί also ὁ the [one] τρώγων feeding on με Me, κἀκεῖνος he also ζήσει will live δι ̓ because of ἐμέ. Ταῦτα These things εἶπεν He said ἐν in συναγωγῇ [the] synagogue, διδάσκων teaching ἐν in Καφαρναούμ. Capernaum. Πολλοί Many οὖν therefore, ἀκούσαντες having heard, ἐκ of τῶν the μαθητῶν disciples αὐτοῦ of Him, εἶπαν· said, Σκληρός Difficult ἐστίν is ὁ the λόγος word οὗτος· this; τίς who δύναται is able αὐτοῦ it ἀκούειν; to hear?
