Ἠρώτησαν They asked αὐτόν· him, Τίς Who ἐστίν is ὁ the ἄνθρωπος man ὁ - εἰπών having said σοι· to you, Ἆρον Take up καί and περιπάτει; walk?’ ὁ The [one] δέ now ἰαθείς having been healed οὐ not ᾔδει knew τίς who ἐστίν, it is, ὁ - γάρ for Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐξένευσεν had moved away, ὄχλου a crowd ὄντος being ἐν in τῷ the τόπῳ. place. Μετά After ταῦτα these things εὑρίσκει finds αὐτόν him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐν in τῷ the ἱερῷ temple καί and εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to him, Ἴδε Behold, ὑγιής well γέγονας, you have become; μηκέτι no more ἁμάρτανε, sin, ἵνα that μή not χεῖρον worse σοί to you τὶ something γένηται. happens. ἀπῆλθεν Went away ὁ the ἄνθρωπος man καί and ἀνήγγειλεν told τοῖς the Ἰουδαίοις Jews ὅτι that Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐστίν it is ὁ the [One] ποιήσας having made αὐτόν him ὑγιῆ. well. Καί And διά because of τοῦτο this, ἐδίωκον were persecuting οἱ the Ἰουδαῖοι Jews τόν - Ἰησοῦν, Jesus, ὅτι because ταῦτα these things ἐποίει He was doing ἐν on σαββάτῳ. [the] Sabbath.
ὁ - δέ But Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἀπεκρίνατο answered αὐτοῖς· them, ὁ The Πατήρ Father μου of Me ἕως until ἄρτι now ἐργάζεται is working, κἀγώ and I ἐργάζομαι· am working. Διά Because of τοῦτο this οὖν therefore, μᾶλλον the more ἐζήτουν were seeking αὐτόν Him οἱ the Ἰουδαῖοι Jews ἀποκτεῖναι, to kill, ὅτι because οὐ not μόνον only ἔλυεν was He breaking τό the σάββατον, Sabbath, ἀλλά but καί also Πατέρα Father ἴδιον His own ἔλεγεν He was calling τόν - Θεόν God, ἴσον equal ἑαυτόν Himself ποιῶν making τῷ to Θεῷ. God.
Ἀπεκρίνατο Answered οὖν therefore ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus καί and ἔλεγεν was saying αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἀμήν Truly, ἀμήν truly, λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, οὐ not δύναται is able ὁ the Υἱός Son ποιεῖν to do ἀφ ̓ of ἑαυτοῦ Himself οὐδέν nothing, ἐάν if μή not τὶ anything βλέπῃ He might see τόν the Πατέρα Father ποιοῦντα· doing; ἅ whatever γάρ for ἄν - ἐκεῖνος He ποιῇ, does, ταῦτα these things καί also ὁ the Υἱός Son ὁμοίως likewise ποιεῖ. does. ὁ - γάρ For Πατήρ the Father φιλεῖ loves τόν the Υἱόν Son, καί and πάντα all things δείκνυσιν shows αὐτῷ to Him ἅ that αὐτός He ποιεῖ, does; καί and μείζονα greater τούτων than these δείξει He will show αὐτῷ Him ἔργα, works, ἵνα so that ὑμεῖς you θαυμάζητε. may marvel. Ὥσπερ Even as γάρ for ὁ the Πατήρ Father ἐγείρει raises up τούς the νεκρούς dead καί and ζωοποιεῖ, gives life, οὕτως thus καί also ὁ the Υἱός Son οὕς to whom θέλει He will, ζωοποιεῖ. gives life. οὐδέ Not even γάρ for ὁ the Πατήρ Father κρίνει judges οὐδένα, no one, ἀλλά but τήν - κρίσιν judgment πᾶσαν all δέδωκεν has given τῷ to the Υἱῷ, Son, ἵνα so that πάντες all τιμῶσι may honor τόν the Υἱόν Son, καθώς even as τιμῶσι they honor τόν the Πατέρα. Father. ὁ He who μή not τιμῶν is honoring τόν the Υἱόν Son, οὐ not τιμᾷ is honoring τόν the Πατέρα Father, τόν the [One] πέμψαντα having sent αὐτόν. Him.
Ἀμήν Truly, ἀμήν truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ὁ the [one] τόν the λόγον word μου of Me ἀκούων hearing, καί and πιστεύων believing τῷ the [One] πέμψαντι having sent με Me, ἔχει he has ζωήν life αἰώνιον eternal καί and εἰς into κρίσιν judgment οὐ not ἔρχεται, comes, ἀλλά but μεταβέβηκεν has passed ἐκ out of τοῦ - θανάτου death εἰς into τήν - ζωήν. life. Ἀμήν Truly, ἀμήν truly, λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ἔρχεται is coming ὥρα an hour, καί and νῦν now ἐστίν is, ὅτε when οἱ the νεκροί dead ἀκούσουσιν will hear τῆς the φωνῆς voice τοῦ of the Υἱοῦ Son τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God, καί and οἱ those ἀκούσαντες having heard ζήσουσιν. will live. ὥσπερ As γάρ for ὁ the Πατήρ Father ἔχει has ζωήν life ἐν in ἑαυτῷ, Himself, οὕτως so καί also τῷ to the Υἱῷ Son ἔδωκεν He gave ζωήν life, ἔχειν to have ἐν in ἑαυτῷ. Himself. καί And ἐξουσίαν authority ἔδωκεν He gave αὐτῷ Him κρίσιν judgment ποιεῖν, to execute, ὅτι because Υἱός Son ἀνθρώπου of Man ἐστίν. He is. μή Not θαυμάζετε marvel at τοῦτο, this, ὅτι for ἔρχεται is coming ὥρα an hour ἐν in ᾗ which πάντες all οἱ those ἐν in τοῖς the μνημείοις tombs ἀκούσουσιν will hear τῆς the φωνῆς voice αὐτοῦ of Him, καί and ἐκπορεύσονται will come forth — οἱ those τά - ἀγαθά good ποιήσαντες having done, εἰς to ἀνάστασιν [the] resurrection ζωῆς, of life; οἱ - δέ and τά those φαῦλα evil πράξαντες having done, εἰς to ἀνάστασιν [the] resurrection κρίσεως. of judgment.
οὐ Not δύναμαι am able ἐγώ I ποιεῖν to do ἀπ ̓ of ἐμαυτοῦ Myself οὐδέν· nothing; καθώς as ἀκούω I hear, κρίνω, I judge; καί and ἡ the κρίσις judgment ἡ - ἐμή of Me δικαία just ἐστίν, is, ὅτι because οὐ not ζητῶ I seek τό the θέλημα will τό - ἐμόν of Me, ἀλλά but τό the θέλημα will τοῦ of the [One] πέμψαντος having sent με. Me. Ἐάν If ἐγώ I μαρτυρῶ bear witness περί concerning ἐμαυτοῦ, Myself, ἡ the μαρτυρία testimony μου of Me οὐ not ἔστιν is ἀληθής· true. ἄλλος Another ἐστίν it is ὁ - μαρτυρῶν bearing witness περί concerning ἐμοῦ, Me, καί and οἶδα I know ὅτι that ἀληθής true ἐστίν is ἡ the μαρτυρία testimony ἥν which μαρτυρεῖ he bears witness περί concerning ἐμοῦ. Me. Ὑμεῖς You ἀπεστάλκατε have sent πρός unto Ἰωάννην, John καί and μεμαρτύρηκεν he has borne witness τῇ to the ἀληθείᾳ· truth. ἐγώ I δέ now οὐ not παρά from ἀνθρώπου man τήν the μαρτυρίαν testimony λαμβάνω, receive, ἀλλά but ταῦτα these things λέγω I say ἵνα that ὑμεῖς you σωθῆτε. may be saved. Ἐκεῖνος He ἦν was ὁ the λύχνος lamp ὁ - καιόμενος burning καί and φαίνων, shining; ὑμεῖς you δέ now ἠθελήσατε were willing ἀγαλλιαθῆναι to rejoice πρός for ὥραν a season ἐν in τῷ the φωτί light αὐτοῦ. of him.
ἐγώ I δέ however ἔχω have τήν the μαρτυρίαν testimony μείζω greater than τοῦ that Ἰωάννου· of John. τά - γάρ For ἔργα the works ἅ that δέδωκεν has given μοι Me ὁ the Πατήρ Father ἵνα that τελειώσω I should complete αὐτά, them, αὐτά same τά the ἔργα works ἅ which ποιῶ I do, μαρτυρεῖ bear witness περί concerning ἐμοῦ Me ὅτι that ὁ the Πατήρ Father με Me ἀπέσταλκεν. has sent. καί And ὁ the [One] πέμψας having sent με Me, Πατήρ [the] Father ἐκεῖνος Himself, μεμαρτύρηκεν has borne witness περί concerning ἐμοῦ. Me. οὔτε Neither φωνήν voice αὐτοῦ of Him πώποτε at any time ἀκηκόατε have You heard, οὔτε nor εἶδος form αὐτοῦ of Him ἑωράκατε, have you seen. καί And τόν the λόγον word αὐτοῦ of Him οὐ not ἔχετε you have ἐν in ὑμῖν you μένοντα, abiding; ὅτι for ὅν whom ἀπέστειλεν sent ἐκεῖνος, He, τούτῳ Him ὑμεῖς you οὐ not πιστεύετε. believe. Ἐραυνᾶτε You diligently search τάς the γραφάς, Scriptures, ὅτι for ὑμεῖς you δοκεῖτε think ἐν in αὐταῖς them ζωήν life αἰώνιον eternal ἔχειν· to have; καί and ἐκεῖναι these εἰσίν are they αἱ - μαρτυροῦσαι bearing witness περί concerning ἐμοῦ· Me; καί and οὐ not θέλετε you are willing ἐλθεῖν to come πρός to με Me ἵνα that ζωήν life ἔχητε. you may have.
Δόξαν Glory παρά from ἀνθρώπων men οὐ not λαμβάνω, I take; ἀλλά but ἔγνωκα I have known ὑμᾶς you, ὅτι that τήν the ἀγάπην love τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God οὐ not ἔχετε you have ἐν in ἑαυτοῖς. yourselves. ἐγώ I ἐλήλυθα have come ἐν in τῷ the ὀνόματι name τοῦ of the Πατρός Father μου, of Me, καί and οὐ not λαμβάνετε you receive με· Me; ἐάν if ἄλλος another ἔλθῃ should come ἐν in τῷ the ὀνόματι name τῷ the ἰδίῳ, own, ἐκεῖνον him λήμψεσθε. you will receive. πῶς How δύνασθε are able ὑμεῖς you πιστεῦσαι to believe, δόξαν glory παρά from ἀλλήλων one another λαμβάνοντες, receiving, καί and τήν the δόξαν glory τήν that [is] παρά from τοῦ the μόνου only Θεοῦ God, οὐ not ζητεῖτε; you seek?
Μή Not δοκεῖτε think ὅτι that ἐγώ I κατηγορήσω will accuse ὑμῶν you πρός to τόν the Πατέρα· Father. ἔστιν There is ὁ [one] κατηγορῶν accusing ὑμῶν you, Μωϋσῆς, Moses, εἰς in ὅν whom ὑμεῖς you ἠλπίκατε. have hoped. εἰ If γάρ for ἐπιστεύετε you were believing Μωϋσεῖ, Moses, ἐπιστεύετε you would have believed ἄν - ἐμοί· Me; περί concerning γάρ for ἐμοῦ Me ἐκεῖνος he ἔγραψεν. wrote. εἰ If δέ now τοῖς - ἐκείνου his γράμμασιν writings οὐ not πιστεύετε, you believe, πῶς how τοῖς - ἐμοῖς My ῥήμασιν words πιστεύσετε; will you believe?
Μετά After ταῦτα these things ἀπῆλθεν went away ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus πέραν over τῆς the θαλάσσης Sea τῆς - Γαλιλαίας of Galilee — τῆς - Τιβεριάδος. of Tiberias. ἠκολούθει Was following δέ now αὐτῷ Him ὄχλος a crowd πολύς, great, ὅτι because ἐθεώρουν they were seeing τά the σημεῖα signs ἅ which ἐποίει He was doing ἐπί upon τῶν those ἀσθενούντων. being sick. ἀνῆλθεν Went up δέ now εἰς on τό the ὄρος mountain Ἰησοῦς Jesus, καί and ἐκεῖ there ἐκάθητο He was sitting μετά with τῶν the μαθητῶν disciples αὐτοῦ. of Him. Ἦν Was δέ now ἐγγύς near τό the πάσχα, Passover, ἡ the ἑορτή feast τῶν of the Ἰουδαίων. Jews.
ἐπάρας Having lifted up οὖν then τούς the ὀφθαλμούς eyes ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus καί and θεασάμενος having seen ὅτι that πολύς a great ὄχλος crowd ἔρχεται is coming πρός to αὐτόν Him, λέγει He says πρός to Φίλιππον· Philip, Πόθεν From where ἀγοράσωμεν shall we buy ἄρτους bread ἵνα that φάγωσιν might eat οὗτοι; these? τοῦτο This δέ now ἔλεγεν He was saying πειράζων testing αὐτόν· him; αὐτός He γάρ for ᾔδει knew τί what ἔμελλεν He was about ποιεῖν. to do. Ἀπεκρίθη Answered αὐτῷ Him ὁ - Φίλιππος· Philip, Διακοσίων Two hundred δηναρίων denarii worth ἄρτοι of loaves οὐ not ἀρκοῦσιν are sufficient αὐτοῖς for them ἵνα that ἕκαστος each βραχύ little [piece] τὶ one λάβῃ. might receive. Λέγει Says αὐτῷ to Him εἷς one ἐκ of τῶν the μαθητῶν disciples αὐτοῦ, of Him, Ἀνδρέας Andrew, ὁ the ἀδελφός brother Σίμωνος of Simon Πέτρου· Peter, Ἔστιν Is παιδάριον a little boy ὧδε here, ὅς who ἔχει has πέντε five ἄρτους loaves κριθίνους barley καί and δύο two ὀψάρια· small fish; ἀλλά but ταῦτα these τί what ἐστίν are εἰς for τοσούτους; so many? Εἶπεν Said ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ποιήσατε Make τούς the ἀνθρώπους men ἀναπεσεῖν. to recline. ἦν There was δέ now χόρτος grass πολύς much ἐν in τῷ the τόπῳ. place. ἀνέπεσαν Reclined οὖν therefore οἱ the ἄνδρες men, τόν the ἀριθμόν number ὡς about πεντακισχίλιοι. five thousand. Ἔλαβεν Took οὖν then τούς the ἄρτους loaves ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus, καί and εὐχαριστήσας having given thanks, διέδωκεν He distributed τοῖς to those ἀνακειμένοις reclining; ὁμοίως likewise καί also ἐκ of τῶν the ὀψαρίων fish, ὅσον as much as ἤθελον. they wished. ὡς When δέ now ἐνεπλήσθησαν, they were filled, λέγει He says τοῖς to the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him, Συναγάγετε Gather together τά the περισσεύσαντα having been over and above κλάσματα, fragments, ἵνα so that μή nothing τὶ anything ἀπόληται. may be lost. συνήγαγον They gathered together οὖν therefore, καί and ἐγέμισαν filled δώδεκα twelve κοφίνους hand-baskets κλασμάτων of fragments ἐκ from τῶν the πέντε five ἄρτων loaves τῶν - κριθίνων barley ἅ which ἐπερίσσευσαν were over and above τοῖς to those βεβρωκόσιν. having eaten. οἱ The οὖν therefore ἄνθρωποι people, ἰδόντες having seen ὅ what ἐποίησεν He had done, σημεῖον [the] sign, ἔλεγον were saying ὅτι -, Οὗτος This ἐστίν is ἀληθῶς truly ὁ the προφήτης prophet ὁ who ἐρχόμενος is coming εἰς into τόν the κόσμον. world. Ἰησοῦς Jesus οὖν therefore, γνούς having known ὅτι that μέλλουσιν they are about ἔρχεσθαι to come καί and ἁρπάζειν to seize αὐτόν Him ἵνα that ποιήσωσιν they might make [Him] βασιλέα, king, ἀνεχώρησεν withdrew πάλιν again εἰς to τό the ὄρος mountain αὐτός Himself μόνος. alone. ὡς When δέ now ὀψία evening ἐγένετο it became, κατέβησαν went down οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ of Him ἐπί to τήν the θάλασσαν sea, καί and ἐμβάντες having entered εἰς into πλοῖον a boat, ἤρχοντο they were going πέραν over τῆς the θαλάσσης sea εἰς to Καφαρναούμ. Capernaum. καί And σκοτία dark ἤδη already ἐγεγόνει it had become, καί and οὔπω not ἐληλύθει had come πρός to αὐτούς them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς, Jesus. ἥ - τέ And θάλασσα the sea ἀνέμου by a wind μεγάλου strong πνέοντος blowing διεγείρετο. was agitated. Ἐληλακότες Having rowed οὖν therefore ὡς about σταδίους stadia εἴκοσι twenty πέντε five ἤ or τριάκοντα thirty, θεωροῦσιν they see τόν - Ἰησοῦν Jesus περιπατοῦντα walking ἐπί on τῆς the θαλάσσης sea, καί and ἐγγύς near τοῦ the πλοίου boat γινόμενον, coming, καί and ἐφοβήθησαν. they were frightened. ὁ - δέ And λέγει He says αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἐγώ I εἰμί· am [He]; μή not φοβεῖσθε. fear. ἤθελον They were willing οὖν then λαβεῖν to receive αὐτόν Him εἰς into τό the πλοῖον, boat, καί and εὐθέως immediately ἐγένετο was τό the πλοῖον boat ἐπί at τῆς the γῆς land εἰς to ἥν which ὑπῆγον. they were going.
Τῇ On the ἐπαύριον next day ὁ the ὄχλος crowd ὁ - ἑστηκώς standing πέραν on the other side τῆς of the θαλάσσης sea, εἶδον having seen ὅτι that πλοιάριον boat ἄλλο other οὐ no ἦν was ἐκεῖ there εἰ if μή not ἕν one, καί and ὅτι that οὐ not συνεισῆλθεν went with τοῖς the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ of Him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἰς into τό the πλοῖον boat, ἀλλά but μόνοι alone οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ of Him ἀπῆλθον· went away; ἀλλά but other ἦλθεν came πλοιάρια boats ἐκ from Τιβεριάδος Tiberias, ἐγγύς near τοῦ the τόπου place ὅπου where ἔφαγον they ate τόν the ἄρτον bread, εὐχαριστήσαντος having given thanks τοῦ the Κυρίου. Lord.
