καί And ἰδού behold, σεισμός a storm μέγας great ἐγένετο arose ἐν in τῇ the θαλάσσῃ, sea, ὥστε so that τό the πλοῖον boat καλύπτεσθαι was being swamped ὑπό by τῶν the κυμάτων, waves; αὐτός He Himself δέ however ἐκάθευδεν. was sleeping. καί And προσελθόντες having come to [Him], ἤγειραν they awoke αὐτόν Him, λέγοντες· saying, Κύριε, Lord, σῶσον, save us, ἀπολλύμεθα. we are perishing! Καί And λέγει He says αὐτοῖς· to them, Τί Why δειλοί fearful ἐστέ, are you, ὀλιγόπιστοι; O [you] of little faith? τότε Then, ἐγερθείς having arisen, ἐπετίμησεν He rebuked τοῖς the ἀνέμοις winds καί and τῇ the θαλάσσῃ, sea, καί and ἐγένετο there was γαλήνη a calm μεγάλη. great. οἱ - δέ And ἄνθρωποι the men ἐθαύμασαν marveled, λέγοντες· saying, Ποταπός What kind [of man] ἐστίν is οὗτος this, ὅτι that καί even οἱ the ἄνεμοι winds καί and ἡ the θάλασσα sea αὐτῷ Him ὑπακούουσιν; obey?

Καί And ἐλθόντος having come αὐτοῦ He εἰς to τό the πέραν other side, εἰς to τήν the χώραν region τῶν of the Γαδαρηνῶν Gadarenes, ὑπήντησαν met αὐτῷ Him δύο two δαιμονιζόμενοι being possessed by demons, ἐκ out of τῶν the μνημείων tombs ἐξερχόμενοι, coming forth, χαλεποί violent λίαν, extremely, ὥστε so that μή not ἰσχύειν was able τινά anyone παρελθεῖν to pass διά by τῆς the ὁδοῦ way ἐκείνης. that. Καί And ἰδού behold, ἔκραξαν they cried out, λέγοντες· saying, Τί What ἡμῖν to us καί and σοί, to you, Υἱέ Son τοῦ - Θεοῦ; of God? ἦλθες Are You come ὧδε here πρό before [the] καιροῦ time βασανίσαι to torment ἡμᾶς; us? Ἦν There was δέ now μακράν far off ἀπ ̓ from αὐτῶν them ἀγέλη a herd χοίρων of pigs πολλῶν many, βοσκομένη. feeding. οἱ - δέ And δαίμονες the demons παρεκάλουν were begging αὐτόν Him, λέγοντες· saying, εἰ If ἐκβάλλεις You cast out ἡμᾶς, us, ἀπόστειλον send away ἡμᾶς us εἰς into τήν the ἀγέλην herd τῶν - χοίρων. of pigs. Καί And εἶπεν He said αὐτοῖς· to them, Ὑπάγετε. Go. οἱ - δέ And ἐξελθόντες having gone out ἀπῆλθον they went away εἰς into τούς the χοίρους· pigs; καί and ἰδού behold, ὥρμησεν rushed πᾶσα all ἡ the ἀγέλη herd κατά down τοῦ the κρημνοῦ steep bank εἰς into τήν the θάλασσαν sea, καί and ἀπέθανον perished ἐν in τοῖς the ὕδασιν. waters. οἱ Those δέ now βόσκοντες feeding [them] ἔφυγον, fled, καί and ἀπελθόντες having gone away εἰς into τήν the πόλιν city, ἀπήγγειλαν they related πάντα everything, καί including τά the [matter] τῶν of those δαιμονιζομένων. being possessed by demons. καί And ἰδού behold, πᾶσα all ἡ the πόλις city ἐξῆλθεν went out εἰς to ὑπάντησιν meet τῷ - Ἰησοῦ Jesus. καί And ἰδόντες having seen αὐτόν Him, παρεκάλεσαν they begged [Him] ὅπως that μεταβῇ He would depart ἀπό from τῶν the ὁρίων region αὐτῶν. of them.

Καί And ἐμβάς having entered εἰς into πλοῖον a boat, διεπέρασεν He passed over καί and ἦλθεν came εἰς to τήν the ἰδίαν own πόλιν. city.

Καί And ἰδού behold, προσέφερον they were bringing αὐτῷ to Him παραλυτικόν a paralytic ἐπί on κλίνης a bed βεβλημένον. lying. καί And ἰδών having seen ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus τήν the πίστιν faith αὐτῶν of them, εἶπεν He said τῷ to the παραλυτικῷ· paralytic, Θάρσει, Take courage, τέκνον, son; ἀφίενται have been forgiven σου of you αἱ the ἁμαρτίαι. sins. Καί And ἰδού behold, τινές some τῶν of the γραμματέων scribes εἶπαν said ἐν to ἑαυτοῖς· themselves, Οὗτος This [man] βλασφημεῖ. blasphemes! Καί And ἰδών having known ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus τάς the ἐνθυμήσεις thoughts αὐτῶν of them, εἶπεν· He said, Ἵνατι So that why ἐνθυμεῖσθε think you πονηρά evil ἐν in ταῖς the καρδίαις hearts ὑμῶν; of you? τί Which γάρ for ἐστίν is εὐκοπώτερον, easier, εἰπεῖν· to say, Ἀφίενται Are forgiven σου of you αἱ the ἁμαρτίαι, sins, ἤ or εἰπεῖν· to say. Ἔγειρε Arise καί and περιπάτει; walk? ἵνα So that δέ however εἰδῆτε you may know ὅτι that ἐξουσίαν authority ἔχει has ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth ἀφιέναι to forgive ἁμαρτίας— sins... τότε Then λέγει He says τῷ to the παραλυτικῷ· paralytic, Ἐγερθείς Having arisen, ἆρον take up σου your τήν - κλίνην mat, καί and ὕπαγε go εἰς to τόν the οἶκον house σου. of you. καί And ἐγερθείς having arisen, ἀπῆλθεν he went away εἰς to τόν the οἶκον house αὐτοῦ. of him. Ἰδόντες Having seen δέ now, οἱ the ὄχλοι crowds ἐφοβήθησαν marveled καί and ἐδόξασαν glorified τόν - Θεόν God, τόν the [One] δόντα having given ἐξουσίαν authority τοιαύτην such τοῖς - ἀνθρώποις. to men.

Καί And παράγων passing on ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐκεῖθεν from there, εἶδεν He saw ἄνθρωπον a man καθήμενον sitting ἐπί at τό the τελώνιον, tax booth, Μαθθαῖον Matthew λεγόμενον, named. καί And λέγει He says αὐτῷ· to him, Ἀκολούθει Follow μοι. Καί And ἐγένετο it came to pass αὐτοῦ of Him ἀνακειμένου reclining ἐν in τῇ the οἰκίᾳ, house, καί that ἰδού behold, πολλοί many τελῶναι tax collectors καί and ἁμαρτωλοί sinners, ἐλθόντες having come, συνανέκειντο were reclining with τῷ - Ἰησοῦ Jesus καί and τοῖς the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ. of Him. καί And ἰδόντες having seen [it], οἱ the Φαρισαῖοι Pharisees ἔλεγον said τοῖς to μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him, Διά Because of τί why μετά with τῶν the τελωνῶν tax collectors καί and ἁμαρτωλῶν sinners ἐσθίει eats ὁ the διδάσκαλος Teacher ὑμῶν; of you? ὁ - δέ And ἀκούσας having heard, εἶπεν· He said, οὐ Not χρείαν need ἔχουσιν have οἱ those ἰσχύοντες being strong ἰατροῦ of a physician, ἀλλ ̓ but οἱ those κακῶς sick ἔχοντες. being. πορευθέντες Having gone δέ however, μάθετε learn τί what ἐστίν· is, Ἔλεος Mercy θέλω I desire, καί and οὐ not θυσίαν· sacrifice.’ οὐ Not γάρ for ἦλθον I came καλέσαι to call δικαίους [the] righteous, ἀλλά but ἁμαρτωλούς. sinners. Τότε Then προσέρχονται come αὐτῷ to Him οἱ the μαθηταί disciples Ἰωάννου of John, λέγοντες· saying, Διά Because of τί why ἡμεῖς we καί and οἱ the Φαρισαῖοι Pharisees νηστεύομεν do fast πολλά, many times; οἱ the δέ however μαθηταί disciples σου of You οὐ not νηστεύουσιν; fast? Καί And εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Μή Not δύνανται can οἱ the υἱοί sons τοῦ of the νυμφῶνος bridechamber πενθεῖν mourn ἐφ ̓ as ὅσον long as μετ ̓ with αὐτῶν them ἐστίν is ὁ the νυμφίος; bridegroom? ἐλεύσονται Will come δέ however ἡμέραι days ὅταν when ἀπαρθῇ shall have been taken away ἀπ ̓ from αὐτῶν them ὁ the νυμφίος, bridegroom, καί and τότε then νηστεύσουσιν. they will fast. Οὐδείς No one δέ however ἐπιβάλλει puts ἐπίβλημα a patch ῥάκους of cloth ἀγνάφου unshrunk ἐπί on ἱματίῳ clothing παλαιῷ· old; αἴρει tears away γάρ for τό the πλήρωμα patch αὐτοῦ of it ἀπό from τοῦ the ἱματίου garment, καί and χεῖρον a worse σχίσμα tear γίνεται. emerges. Οὐδέ Nor βάλλουσιν pour they οἶνον wine νέον new εἰς into ἀσκούς wineskins παλαιούς· old; εἰ if δέ now μή γέ, lest ῥήγνυνται are burst οἱ the ἀσκοί wineskins, καί and ὁ the οἶνος wine ἐκχεῖται is poured out, καί and οἱ the ἀσκοί wineskins ἀπόλλυνται· are destroyed. ἀλλά But βάλλουσιν they pour οἶνον wine νέον new εἰς into ἀσκούς wineskins καινούς, new, καί and ἀμφότεροι both συντηροῦνται. are preserved.

Ταῦτα These things αὐτοῦ of Him λαλοῦντος speaking αὐτοῖς, to them, ἰδού behold, ἄρχων a ruler εἷς certain ἐλθών having come, προσεκύνει was kneeling down αὐτῷ to Him, λέγων saying ὅτι -, ἡ The θυγάτηρ daughter μου of Me ἄρτι presently ἐτελεύτησεν· has died; ἀλλά but ἐλθών having come, ἐπίθες lay τήν the χεῖρα hand σου of You ἐπ ̓ upon αὐτήν, her, καί and ζήσεται. she will live. Καί And ἐγερθείς having arisen, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἠκολούθει followed αὐτῷ him, καί also οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ. of Him.

Καί And ἰδού behold, γυνή a woman αἱμορροοῦσα having had a flux of blood δώδεκα twelve ἔτη years, προσελθοῦσα having come up ὄπισθεν behind [Him], ἥψατο touched τοῦ the κρασπέδου fringe τοῦ of the ἱματίου garment αὐτοῦ· of Him. ἔλεγεν She was saying γάρ for ἐν within ἑαυτῇ· herself, Ἐάν If μόνον only ἅψωμαι I shall touch τοῦ the ἱματίου garment αὐτοῦ of Him, σωθήσομαι. I will be healed. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus, στραφείς having turned καί and ἰδών having seen αὐτήν her, εἶπεν· said, Θάρσει, Take courage, θύγατερ· daughter; ἡ the πίστις faith σου of you σέσωκεν has cured σε. you. καί And ἐσώθη was cured ἡ the γυνή woman ἀπό from τῆς the ὥρας hour ἐκείνης. very.

Καί And ἐλθών having come ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἰς into τήν the οἰκίαν house τοῦ of the ἄρχοντος ruler, καί and ἰδών having seen τούς the αὐλητάς flute players καί and τόν the ὄχλον crowd θορυβούμενον making a commotion, ἔλεγεν· He says, Ἀναχωρεῖτε, Go away. οὐ Not γάρ for ἀπέθανεν is dead τό the κοράσιον girl, ἀλλά but καθεύδει. sleeps. καί And κατεγέλων they began to laugh at αὐτοῦ. Him. Ὅτε When δέ now ἐξεβλήθη had been put outside ὁ the ὄχλος crowd, εἰσελθών having entered, ἐκράτησεν He took hold of τῆς the χειρός hand αὐτῆς, of her, καί and ἠγέρθη arose τό the κοράσιον. girl. καί And ἐξῆλθεν went out ἡ the φήμη report αὕτη this εἰς into ὅλην all τήν the γῆν land ἐκείνην. that.

Καί And παράγοντι passing on ἐκεῖθεν from there τῷ - Ἰησοῦ Jesus, ἠκολούθησαν followed αὐτῷ Him δύο two τυφλοί blind [men], κράζοντες crying out καί and λέγοντες· saying, Ἐλέησον Have mercy on ἡμᾶς, us, υἱός Son Δαυίδ. of David. Ἐλθόντι Having come δέ now εἰς into τήν the οἰκίαν house, προσῆλθον came αὐτῷ to Him οἱ the τυφλοί, blind [men], καί and λέγει says αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Πιστεύετε Believe you ὅτι that δύναμαι I am able τοῦτο this ποιῆσαι; to do? Λέγουσιν They say αὐτῷ· to him, Ναί Yes, Κύριε. Lord. Τότε Then ἥψατο He touched τῶν the ὀφθαλμῶν eyes αὐτῶν of them, λέγων· saying, Κατά According to τήν the πίστιν faith ὑμῶν of you γενηθήτω be it ὑμῖν. to you. καί And ἠνεῴχθησαν were opened αὐτῶν their οἱ - ὀφθαλμοί. eyes. καί And ἐνεβριμήθη strictly instructed αὐτοῖς them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus, λέγων· saying, Ὁρᾶτε See that μηδείς no one γινωσκέτω. knows. οἱ - δέ But ἐξελθόντες having gone out, διεφήμισαν they make known αὐτόν Him ἐν in ὅλῃ all τῇ the γῇ land ἐκείνῃ. that.

Αὐτῶν [As] they δέ now ἐξερχομένων were going out, ἰδού behold, προσήνεγκαν they brought αὐτῷ to Him ἄνθρωπον a man κωφόν mute, δαιμονιζόμενον. possessed by a demon. καί And ἐκβληθέντος having been cast out τοῦ the δαιμονίου demon, ἐλάλησεν spoke ὁ the κωφός. mute [man]. καί And ἐθαύμασαν marveled οἱ the ὄχλοι crowds, λέγοντες· saying, Οὐδέποτε Never ἐφάνη was it seen οὕτως thus ἐν in τῷ - Ἰσραήλ. Καί And περιῆγεν was going throughout ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus τάς the πόλεις cities πάσας all καί and τάς the κώμας villages, διδάσκων teaching ἐν in ταῖς the συναγωγαῖς synagogues αὐτῶν of them, καί and κηρύσσων proclaiming τό the εὐαγγέλιον gospel τῆς of the βασιλείας kingdom, καί and θεραπεύων healing πᾶσαν every νόσον disease καί and πᾶσαν every μαλακίαν. sickness. Ἰδών Having seen δέ now τούς the ὄχλους crowds, ἐσπλαγχνίσθη He was moved with compassion περί for αὐτῶν, them, ὅτι because ἦσαν they were ἐσκυλμένοι wearied καί and ἐρριμμένοι cast away, ὡσεί as πρόβατα sheep μή not ἔχοντα having ποιμένα. a shepherd. Τότε Then λέγει He says τοῖς to the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him, ὁ The μέν indeed θερισμός harvest πολύς, [is] plentiful, οἱ the δέ however ἐργάται workmen ὀλίγοι· [are] few; δεήθητε Beseech οὖν therefore τοῦ the Κυρίου Lord τοῦ of the θερισμοῦ harvest, ὅπως that ἐκβάλῃ He might send out ἐργάτας workmen εἰς into τόν the θερισμόν harvest αὐτοῦ. of Him.

Καί And προσκαλεσάμενος having summoned τούς the δώδεκα twelve μαθητάς disciples αὐτοῦ of Him, ἔδωκεν He gave αὐτοῖς to them ἐξουσίαν authority πνευμάτων over spirits ἀκαθάρτων unclean, ὥστε so as ἐκβάλλειν to cast out αὐτά them καί and θεραπεύειν to heal πᾶσαν every νόσον disease καί and πᾶσαν every μαλακίαν. sickness. Τῶν - δέ And δώδεκα of the twelve ἀποστόλων apostles τά the ὀνόματα names ἐστίν are ταῦτα· these: πρῶτος first Σίμων Simon, ὁ - λεγόμενος called Πέτρος Peter, καί and Ἀνδρέας Andrew, ὁ the ἀδελφός brother αὐτοῦ, of him; καί and Ἰάκωβος James ὁ the [son] τοῦ of Ζεβεδαίου Zebedee, καί and Ἰωάννης John ὁ the ἀδελφός brother αὐτοῦ, of him; Φίλιππος Philip, καί and Βαρθολομαῖος, Bartholomew; Θωμᾶς Thomas, καί and Μαθθαῖος Matthew ὁ the τελώνης, tax collector; Ἰάκωβος James ὁ the [son] τοῦ - Ἁλφαίου of Alphaeus, καί and Θαδδαῖος, Thaddaeus; Σίμων Simon ὁ the Καναναῖος Zealot, καί and Ἰούδας Judas ὁ - Ἰσκαριώτης Iscariot, ὁ the [one] καί also παραδούς having betrayed αὐτόν. Him.

Τούτους These τούς - δώδεκα twelve ἀπέστειλεν sent forth ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus, παραγγείλας having instructed αὐτοῖς them, λέγων· saying, εἰς Into ὁδόν [the] way ἐθνῶν of the Gentiles μή not ἀπέλθητε go off, καί and εἰς into πόλιν any city Σαμαριτῶν of [the] Samaritans μή not εἰσέλθητε· enter; πορεύεσθε go δέ however μᾶλλον rather πρός to τά those πρόβατα sheep τά - ἀπολωλότα being lost οἴκου of [the] house Ἰσραήλ. of Israel. πορευόμενοι Going on δέ also κηρύσσετε proclaim, λέγοντες saying ὅτι -, Ἤγγικεν Has drawn near ἡ The βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν. heavens. ἀσθενοῦντας [Those] ailing θεραπεύετε, heal, νεκρούς dead ἐγείρετε, raise, λεπρούς lepers καθαρίζετε, cleanse, δαιμόνια demons ἐκβάλλετε· cast out; δωρεάν freely ἐλάβετε, you received, δωρεάν freely δότε. give. Μή Neither κτήσησθε take along χρυσόν gold, μηδέ nor ἄργυρον silver, μηδέ nor χαλκόν copper εἰς in τάς the ζώνας belts ὑμῶν, of you, μή nor πήραν provision-bag εἰς for ὁδόν [the] way, μηδέ nor δύο two χιτῶνας tunics, μηδέ nor ὑποδήματα sandals, μηδέ nor ῥάβδον· a staff; ἄξιος worthy [is] γάρ for ὁ the ἐργάτης workman τῆς of the τροφῆς provisions αὐτοῦ. of him. εἰς Into ἥν whatever δ ̓ now ἄν - πόλιν city ἤ or κώμην village εἰσέλθητε, you enter, ἐξετάσατε inquire τίς who ἐν in αὐτῇ it ἄξιος worthy ἐστίν· is, κἀκεῖ and there μείνατε remain ἕως until ἄν - ἐξέλθητε. you go forth.
