Καί And προσέφερον they were bringing αὐτῷ to Him παιδία little children, ἵνα that αὐτῶν them ἅψηται· He might touch. οἱ - δέ But μαθηταί the disciples ἐπετίμησαν rebuked αὐτοῖς. them. Ἰδών Having seen δέ now, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἠγανάκτησεν was indignant καί and εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἄφετε Permit τά the παιδία little children ἔρχεσθαι to come πρός to με, Me; μή not κωλύετε do hinder αὐτά, them! τῶν To the γάρ for τοιούτων such, ἐστίν belongs ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ. of God. ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, ὅς whoever ἄν - μή not δέξηται shall receive τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God ὡς as παιδίον, a child, οὐ no μή not εἰσέλθῃ shall enter εἰς into αὐτήν. it. καί And ἐναγκαλισάμενος having taken [them] in arms, αὐτά them κατευλόγει He was blessing, τιθείς having laid τάς the χεῖρας hands ἐπ ̓ on αὐτά. them.

Καί And ἐκπορευομένου going forth αὐτοῦ of Him εἰς on ὁδόν [the] journey, προσδραμών having run up εἷς one καί and γονυπετήσας having knelt down to αὐτόν Him, ἐπηρώτα was asking αὐτόν· Him, Διδάσκαλε Teacher ἀγαθέ, good, τί what ποιήσω shall I do, ἵνα that ζωήν life αἰώνιον eternal κληρονομήσω; I might inherit? ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to him, Τί Why με Me λέγεις call you ἀγαθόν; good? οὐδείς No one [is] ἀγαθός good, εἰ if μή not εἷς alone ὁ - Θεός. God. τάς The ἐντολάς commandments οἶδας· you know: Μή Not φονεύσῃς, shall you murder, Μή not μοιχεύσῃς, shall you commit adultery, Μή not κλέψῃς, shall you steal, Μή not ψευδομαρτυρήσῃς, shall you bear false witness, Μή not ἀποστερήσῃς, shall you defraud, Τίμα you shall honor τόν the πατέρα father σου of you καί and τήν the μητέρα. mother.’ ὁ - δέ And ἔφη he was saying αὐτῷ· to Him, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, ταῦτα these πάντα all ἐφυλαξάμην I have kept ἐκ from νεότητος [the] youth μου. of me. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus, ἐμβλέψας having looked upon αὐτῷ him, ἠγάπησεν loved αὐτόν him καί and εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to him, Ἕν One thing σε to you ὑστερεῖ· is lacking. ὕπαγε, Go, ὅσα as much as ἔχεις you have πώλησον sell, καί and δός give τοῖς to the πτωχοῖς, poor, καί and ἕξεις you will have θησαυρόν treasure ἐν in οὐρανῷ, heaven; καί and δεῦρο come, ἀκολούθει follow μοι. Me. ὁ - δέ And στυγνάσας having been sad ἐπί at τῷ the λόγῳ word, ἀπῆλθεν he went away λυπούμενος· grieving; ἦν he was [one] γάρ for ἔχων having κτήματα possessions πολλά. many.

Καί And περιβλεψάμενος having looked around, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus λέγει says τοῖς the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him, Πῶς How δυσκόλως difficultly οἱ those τά - χρήματα riches ἔχοντες having, εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God εἰσελεύσονται. will enter! οἱ - δέ And μαθηταί the disciples ἐθαμβοῦντο were astonished ἐπί at τοῖς the λόγοις words αὐτοῦ. of Him. ὁ - δέ But Ἰησοῦς Jesus, πάλιν again ἀποκριθείς answering, λέγει says αὐτοῖς· to them, Τέκνα, Children, πῶς how δύσκολον difficult ἐστίν it is εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God εἰσελθεῖν· to enter! εὐκοπώτερον Easier ἐστίν it is κάμηλον [for] a camel διά through τῆς the τρυμαλιᾶς eye τῆς of the ῥαφίδος needle διελθεῖν to pass, ἤ than [for] πλούσιον a rich man εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God εἰσελθεῖν. to enter. οἱ - δέ And περισσῶς exceedingly ἐξεπλήσσοντο they were astonished, λέγοντες saying πρός among ἑαυτούς· themselves, Καί Then τίς who δύναται is able σωθῆναι; to be saved? Ἐμβλέψας Having looked on αὐτοῖς them, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus λέγει· says, Παρά With ἀνθρώποις men ἀδύνατον, [it is] impossible, ἀλλ ̓ but οὐ not παρά with θεῷ· God; πάντα all things γάρ for δυνατά [are] possible παρά with τῷ - θεῷ. Ἤρξατο Began λέγειν to say ὁ - Πέτρος Peter αὐτῷ· to Him, Ἰδού Behold, ἡμεῖς we ἀφήκαμεν have left πάντα all καί and ἠκολουθήκαμεν followed σοι. You. Ἔφη Was saying ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, οὐδείς no one ἐστίν there is ὅς who ἀφῆκεν has left οἰκίαν house, ἤ or ἀδελφούς brothers, ἤ or ἀδελφάς sisters, ἤ or μητέρα mother, ἤ or πατέρα father, ἤ or τέκνα children, ἤ or ἀγρούς lands, ἕνεκεν for the sake ἐμοῦ of me καί and ἕνεκεν because τοῦ of the εὐαγγελίου, gospel, ἐάν if μή not λάβῃ shall take ἑκατονταπλασίονα a hundredfold νῦν now ἐν in τῷ the καιρῷ time τούτῳ this — οἰκίας houses καί and ἀδελφούς brothers καί and ἀδελφάς sisters καί and μητέρας mothers καί and τέκνα children καί and ἀγρούς lands, μετά with διωγμῶν, persecutions — καί and ἐν in τῷ the αἰῶνι age τῷ which ἐρχομένῳ is coming, ζωήν life αἰώνιον. eternal. πολλοί Many δέ however ἔσονται will be πρῶτοι first, ἔσχατοι last; καί and οἱ the ἔσχατοι last, πρῶτοι. first.

Ἦσαν They were δέ then ἐν on τῇ the ὁδῷ way, ἀναβαίνοντες going up εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα, Jerusalem, καί and ἦν was προάγων going on before αὐτούς them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς, Jesus, καί and ἐθαμβοῦντο, they were astonished; οἱ those δέ then ἀκολουθοῦντες following ἐφοβοῦντο. were afraid. καί And παραλαβών having taken to [Him] πάλιν again τούς the δώδεκα Twelve, ἤρξατο He began αὐτοῖς them λέγειν to tell τά the things μέλλοντα being about αὐτῷ to Him συμβαίνειν to happen: ὅτι - Ἰδού Behold, ἀναβαίνομεν we go up εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα, Jerusalem, καί and ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man παραδοθήσεται will be betrayed τοῖς to the ἀρχιερεῦσιν chief priests καί and τοῖς to the γραμματεῦσιν, scribes, καί and κατακρινοῦσιν they will condemn αὐτόν Him θανάτῳ to death, καί and παραδώσουσιν will betray αὐτόν Him τοῖς to the ἔθνεσιν Gentiles. καί And ἐμπαίξουσιν they will mock αὐτῷ Him, καί and ἐμπτύσουσιν will spit upon αὐτῷ Him, καί and μαστιγώσουσιν will flog αὐτόν Him, καί and ἀποκτενοῦσιν, will kill, καί and μετά on the τρεῖς third ἡμέρας day ἀναστήσεται. He will rise again.

Καί And προσπορεύονται come up αὐτῷ to Him Ἰάκωβος James καί and Ἰωάννης John, οἱ the υἱοί sons Ζεβεδαίου of Zebedee, λέγοντες saying to αὐτῷ· Him, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, θέλομεν we desire ἵνα that ὅ whatever ἐάν if αἰτήσωμεν we might ask σε you, ποιήσῃς You would do ἡμῖν. for us. ὁ - δέ And εἶπεν He said αὐτοῖς· to them, Τί What θέλετε do you desire με Me ποιήσω to do ὑμῖν; for you? οἱ - δέ And εἶπαν they said αὐτῷ· to Him, Δός Grant ἡμῖν to us ἵνα that εἷς one σου of [us] ἐκ at δεξιῶν [Your] right hand, καί and εἷς one ἐκ at ἀριστερῶν [Your] left hand, καθίσωμεν we might sit ἐν in τῇ the δόξῃ glory σου. of You. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, οὐκ Not οἴδατε you know τί what αἰτεῖσθε. you ask. δύνασθε Are you able πιεῖν to drink τό the ποτήριον cup ὅ which ἐγώ I πίνω drink, ἤ and τό the βάπτισμα baptism ὅ which ἐγώ I βαπτίζομαι am baptized , βαπτισθῆναι; to be baptized [with]? οἱ - δέ And εἶπαν they said αὐτῷ· to Him, Δυνάμεθα. We are able. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Τό The ποτήριον cup ὅ which ἐγώ I πίνω drink, πίεσθε you will drink; καί and τό the βάπτισμα baptism ὅ which ἐγώ I βαπτίζομαι am baptized , βαπτισθήσεσθε, you will be baptized [with]; τό - δέ but καθίσαι to sit ἐκ at δεξιῶν [the] right hand μου of Me ἤ or ἐκ at εὐωνύμων [the] left hand, οὐ not ἔστιν is ἐμόν Mine δοῦναι, to give, ἀλλ ̓ but [to those] οἷς for whom ἡτοίμασται. it has been prepared. Καί And ἀκούσαντες having heard [this], οἱ the δέκα ten ἤρξαντο began ἀγανακτεῖν to be indignant περί about Ἰακώβου James καί and Ἰωάννου. John. καί And προσκαλεσάμενος having called near αὐτούς them, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus λέγει says αὐτοῖς· to them, Οἴδατε You know ὅτι that οἱ those δοκοῦντες being accounted ἄρχειν to rule over τῶν the ἐθνῶν Gentiles κατακυριεύουσιν exercise lordship over αὐτῶν them; καί and οἱ those μεγάλοι great ones αὐτῶν of them κατεξουσιάζουσιν exercise authority over αὐτῶν. them. οὐ Not οὕτως thus δέ however ἐστίν shall it be ἐν among ὑμῖν, you. ἀλλ ̓ Instead, ὅς whoever ἄν - θέλῃ desires μέγας great γενέσθαι to become ἐν among ὑμῖν you, ἔσται will be ὑμῶν your διάκονος, servant; καί and ὅς whoever ἄν - θέλῃ desires ἐν among ὑμῖν you εἶναι to become πρῶτος first, ἔσται will be πάντων of all δοῦλος· slave. καί Even γάρ for ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man οὐ not ἦλθεν came διακονηθῆναι to be served, ἀλλά but διακονῆσαι to serve, καί and δοῦναι to give τήν the ψυχήν life αὐτοῦ of Him λύτρον [as] a ransom ἀντί for πολλῶν. many.

Καί And ἔρχονται they come εἰς to Ἰεριχώ. Jericho. Καί And ἐκπορευομένου as was going out αὐτοῦ He ἀπό from Ἰεριχώ Jericho — καί and τῶν the μαθητῶν disciples αὐτοῦ of Him, καί and ὄχλου a crowd ἱκανοῦ large — ὁ the υἱός son Τιμαίου of Timaeus, Βαρτιμαῖος, Bartimaeus, τυφλός blind προσαίτης, beggar, ἐκάθητο was sitting παρά beside τήν the ὁδόν. road. καί And ἀκούσας having heard ὅτι that Ἰησοῦς Jesus ὁ of Ναζαρηνός Nazareth ἐστίν it is, ἤρξατο he began κράζειν to cry out καί and λέγειν· to say, Υἱέ Son Δαυίδ of David, Ἰησοῦ, Jesus, ἐλέησον have mercy on με. me. Καί And ἐπετίμων were rebuking αὐτῷ him πολλοί many ἵνα that σιωπήσῃ· he should be silent; ὁ - δέ but πολλῷ much μᾶλλον more ἔκραζεν· he kept crying out, Υἱέ Son Δαυίδ, of David, ἐλέησον have mercy on με. me. Καί And στάς having stopped, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν· commanded Φωνήσατε to be called αὐτόν. him. Καί And φωνοῦσιν they call τόν the τυφλόν blind [man], λέγοντες saying αὐτῷ· to him, Θάρσει, Take courage! ἔγειρε, Rise up! φωνεῖ He calls σε. you. ὁ - δέ And ἀποβαλών having cast away τό the ἱμάτιον cloak αὐτοῦ of him, ἀναπηδήσας having risen up, ἦλθεν he came πρός to τόν - Ἰησοῦν. Jesus. Καί And ἀποκριθείς answering αὐτῷ him, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν· says, Τί What σοι to you θέλεις do you desire ποιήσω; I should do? ὁ - δέ And τυφλός the blind [man] εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to Him, Ραββουνι, Rabboni, ἵνα that ἀναβλέψω. I may receive sight. Καί And ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to him, Ὕπαγε, Go, ἡ the πίστις faith σου of you σέσωκεν has healed σε. you. καί And εὐθύς immediately ἀνέβλεψεν he received sight, καί and ἠκολούθει he began following αὐτῷ Him ἐν on τῇ the ὁδῷ. way.

Καί And ὅτε when ἐγγίζουσιν they drew near εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα Jerusalem, εἰς to Βηθφαγή Bethphage καί and Βηθανίαν Bethany, πρός near τό the ὄρος Mount τῶν - Ἐλαιῶν, of Olives, ἀποστέλλει He sends δύο two τῶν of the μαθητῶν disciples αὐτοῦ of Him καί and λέγει says αὐτοῖς· to them, Ὑπάγετε Go εἰς into τήν the κώμην village, τήν - κατέναντι before ὑμῶν, you, καί and εὐθύς immediately, εἰσπορευόμενοι entering εἰς into αὐτήν it, εὑρήσετε you will find πῶλον a colt δεδεμένον having been tied, ἐφ ̓ upon ὅν which οὐδείς no one οὔπω not yet ἀνθρώπων of men ἐκάθισεν· has sat; λύσατε having untied αὐτόν it, καί also φέρετε. bring [it]. καί And ἐάν if τὶς anyone ὑμῖν to you εἴπῃ· says, Τί Why ποιεῖτε are you doing τοῦτο; this?’ εἴπατε· say, ὁ the Κύριος Lord αὐτοῦ of it χρείαν need ἔχει, has, καί and εὐθύς soon αὐτόν it ἀποστέλλει He will send πάλιν back ὧδε. here. Καί And ἀπῆλθον they departed καί and εὗρον found πῶλον the colt δεδεμένον having been tied πρός at θύραν the door ἔξω outside, ἐπί by τοῦ the ἀμφόδου street, καί and λύουσιν they untied αὐτόν. it. καί And τινές some τῶν of those ἐκεῖ there ἑστηκότων standing ἔλεγον were saying αὐτοῖς· to them, Τί What ποιεῖτε are you doing λύοντες untying τόν the πῶλον; colt? οἱ - δέ And εἶπαν they spoke αὐτοῖς to them καθώς as εἶπεν had commanded ὁ - Ἰησοῦς, Jesus, καί and ἀφῆκαν they allowed αὐτούς. them. καί And φέρουσιν they led τόν the πῶλον colt πρός to τόν - Ἰησοῦν Jesus, καί and ἐπιβάλλουσιν they cast upon αὐτῷ it τά the ἱμάτια cloaks αὐτῶν, of them, καί and ἐκάθισεν He sat ἐπ ̓ on αὐτόν. it. Καί And πολλοί many τά the ἱμάτια cloaks αὐτῶν of them ἔστρωσαν spread εἰς on τήν the ὁδόν, road; ἄλλοι others δέ then, στιβάδας branches κόψαντες having been cut down ἐκ from τῶν the ἀγρῶν. fields. καί And οἱ those προάγοντες going before καί and οἱ those ἀκολουθοῦντες following ἔκραζον· were crying out: Ὡσαννά· Hosanna!” Εὐλογημένος Blessed is ὁ the [One] ἐρχόμενος coming ἐν in [the] ὀνόματι name Κυρίου· of [the] Lord!” Εὐλογημένη Blessed ἡ [is] the ἐρχομένη coming βασιλεία kingdom τοῦ of the πατρός father ἡμῶν of us, Δαυίδ· David! Ὡσαννά Hosanna ἐν in τοῖς the ὑψίστοις. highest!”

Καί And εἰσῆλθεν He entered εἰς into Ἱεροσόλυμα Jerusalem, εἰς into τό the ἱερόν temple, καί and περιβλεψάμενος having looked around on πάντα, all things, ὀψίας late ἤδη already οὔσης being τῆς the ὥρας, hour, ἐξῆλθεν He went out εἰς to Βηθανίαν Bethany μετά with τῶν the δώδεκα. Twelve.

Καί And τῇ on the ἐπαύριον next day, ἐξελθόντων having gone out αὐτῶν they ἀπό from Βηθανίας Bethany, ἐπείνασεν. He was hungry. καί And ἰδών having seen συκῆν a fig tree ἀπό from μακρόθεν afar, ἔχουσαν having φύλλα leaves, ἦλθεν, He went εἰ if ἄρα perhaps τὶ anything εὑρήσει He will find ἐν on αὐτῇ, it. καί And ἐλθών having come ἐπ ̓ to αὐτήν it, οὐδέν nothing εὗρεν He found, εἰ if μή not φύλλα· leaves; ὁ the γάρ for καιρός season οὐ not ἦν it was σύκων. of figs. καί And ἀποκριθείς answering, εἶπεν He said αὐτῇ· to it, Μηκέτι No more εἰς to τόν the αἰῶνα age, ἐκ of σοῦ you μηδείς no one καρπόν fruit φάγοι. may eat. καί And ἤκουον were listening οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ. of Him. Καί And ἔρχονται they come εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα. Jerusalem. Καί And εἰσελθών having entered εἰς into τό the ἱερόν temple, ἤρξατο He began ἐκβάλλειν to cast out τούς those πωλοῦντας selling καί and τούς those ἀγοράζοντας buying ἐν in τῷ the ἱερῷ, temple; καί and τάς the τραπέζας tables τῶν of the κολλυβιστῶν money changers καί and τάς the καθέδρας seats τῶν of those πωλούντων selling τάς the περιστεράς doves κατέστρεψεν, He overturned. καί And οὐ not ἤφιεν He would permit ἵνα that τὶς anyone διενέγκῃ should carry σκεῦος a vessel διά through τοῦ the ἱεροῦ. temple.
