Πᾶς Everyone γάρ for πυρί with fire ἁλισθήσεται. will be salted. καλόν Good [is] τό the ἅλας· salt; ἐάν if δέ however τό the ἅλας salt ἄναλον unsalty γένηται, becomes, ἐν with τίνι what αὐτό it ἀρτύσετε; will you season? ἔχετε Have ἐν in ἑαυτοῖς yourselves ἅλα salt, καί and εἰρηνεύετε be at peace ἐν with ἀλλήλοις. one another.

Καί And εἰς in τήν the οἰκίαν house πάλιν again, οἱ the μαθηταί disciples περί concerning τούτου this ἐπηρώτων were asking αὐτόν. Him. καί And λέγει He says αὐτοῖς· to them, Ὅς Whoever ἄν - ἀπολύσῃ shall divorce τήν the γυναῖκα wife αὐτοῦ of him, καί and γαμήσῃ shall marry ἄλλην another, μοιχᾶται commits adultery ἐπ ̓ against αὐτήν· her. καί And ἐάν if αὐτή a woman, ἀπολύσασα having divorced τόν the ἄνδρα husband αὐτῆς of her, γαμήσῃ should marry ἄλλον another, μοιχᾶται. she commits adultery.
Καί And προσέφερον they were bringing αὐτῷ to Him παιδία little children, ἵνα that αὐτῶν them ἅψηται· He might touch. οἱ - δέ But μαθηταί the disciples ἐπετίμησαν rebuked αὐτοῖς. them. Καί And ἐκπορευομένου going forth αὐτοῦ of Him εἰς on ὁδόν [the] journey, προσδραμών having run up εἷς one καί and γονυπετήσας having knelt down to αὐτόν Him, ἐπηρώτα was asking αὐτόν· Him, Διδάσκαλε Teacher ἀγαθέ, good, τί what ποιήσω shall I do, ἵνα that ζωήν life αἰώνιον eternal κληρονομήσω; I might inherit? ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to him, Τί Why με Me λέγεις call you ἀγαθόν; good? οὐδείς No one [is] ἀγαθός good, εἰ if μή not εἷς alone ὁ - Θεός. God. τάς The ἐντολάς commandments οἶδας· you know: Μή Not φονεύσῃς, shall you murder, Μή not μοιχεύσῃς, shall you commit adultery, Μή not κλέψῃς, shall you steal, Μή not ψευδομαρτυρήσῃς, shall you bear false witness, Μή not ἀποστερήσῃς, shall you defraud, Τίμα you shall honor τόν the πατέρα father σου of you καί and τήν the μητέρα. mother.’ ὁ - δέ And ἔφη he was saying αὐτῷ· to Him, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, ταῦτα these πάντα all ἐφυλαξάμην I have kept ἐκ from νεότητος [the] youth μου. of me. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus, ἐμβλέψας having looked upon αὐτῷ him, ἠγάπησεν loved αὐτόν him καί and εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to him, Ἕν One thing σε to you ὑστερεῖ· is lacking. ὕπαγε, Go, ὅσα as much as ἔχεις you have πώλησον sell, καί and δός give τοῖς to the πτωχοῖς, poor, καί and ἕξεις you will have θησαυρόν treasure ἐν in οὐρανῷ, heaven; καί and δεῦρο come, ἀκολούθει follow μοι. Me. ὁ - δέ And στυγνάσας having been sad ἐπί at τῷ the λόγῳ word, ἀπῆλθεν he went away λυπούμενος· grieving; ἦν he was [one] γάρ for ἔχων having κτήματα possessions πολλά. many.
Καί And περιβλεψάμενος having looked around, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus λέγει says τοῖς the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him, Πῶς How δυσκόλως difficultly οἱ those τά - χρήματα riches ἔχοντες having, εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God εἰσελεύσονται. will enter! οἱ - δέ And μαθηταί the disciples ἐθαμβοῦντο were astonished ἐπί at τοῖς the λόγοις words αὐτοῦ. of Him. ὁ - δέ But Ἰησοῦς Jesus, πάλιν again ἀποκριθείς answering, λέγει says αὐτοῖς· to them, Τέκνα, Children, πῶς how δύσκολον difficult ἐστίν it is εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God εἰσελθεῖν· to enter! εὐκοπώτερον Easier ἐστίν it is κάμηλον [for] a camel διά through τῆς the τρυμαλιᾶς eye τῆς of the ῥαφίδος needle διελθεῖν to pass, ἤ than [for] πλούσιον a rich man εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God εἰσελθεῖν. to enter. οἱ - δέ And περισσῶς exceedingly ἐξεπλήσσοντο they were astonished, λέγοντες saying πρός among ἑαυτούς· themselves, Καί Then τίς who δύναται is able σωθῆναι; to be saved? Ἐμβλέψας Having looked on αὐτοῖς them, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus λέγει· says, Παρά With ἀνθρώποις men ἀδύνατον, [it is] impossible, ἀλλ ̓ but οὐ not παρά with θεῷ· God; πάντα all things γάρ for δυνατά [are] possible παρά with τῷ - θεῷ. Ἤρξατο Began λέγειν to say ὁ - Πέτρος Peter αὐτῷ· to Him, Ἰδού Behold, ἡμεῖς we ἀφήκαμεν have left πάντα all καί and ἠκολουθήκαμεν followed σοι. You. Ἔφη Was saying ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, οὐδείς no one ἐστίν there is ὅς who ἀφῆκεν has left οἰκίαν house, ἤ or ἀδελφούς brothers, ἤ or ἀδελφάς sisters, ἤ or μητέρα mother, ἤ or πατέρα father, ἤ or τέκνα children, ἤ or ἀγρούς lands, ἕνεκεν for the sake ἐμοῦ of me καί and ἕνεκεν because τοῦ of the εὐαγγελίου, gospel, ἐάν if μή not λάβῃ shall take ἑκατονταπλασίονα a hundredfold νῦν now ἐν in τῷ the καιρῷ time τούτῳ this — οἰκίας houses καί and ἀδελφούς brothers καί and ἀδελφάς sisters καί and μητέρας mothers καί and τέκνα children καί and ἀγρούς lands, μετά with διωγμῶν, persecutions — καί and ἐν in τῷ the αἰῶνι age τῷ which ἐρχομένῳ is coming, ζωήν life αἰώνιον. eternal. πολλοί Many δέ however ἔσονται will be πρῶτοι first, ἔσχατοι last; καί and οἱ the ἔσχατοι last, πρῶτοι. first.
Ἦσαν They were δέ then ἐν on τῇ the ὁδῷ way, ἀναβαίνοντες going up εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα, Jerusalem, καί and ἦν was προάγων going on before αὐτούς them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς, Jesus, καί and ἐθαμβοῦντο, they were astonished; οἱ those δέ then ἀκολουθοῦντες following ἐφοβοῦντο. were afraid. καί And παραλαβών having taken to [Him] πάλιν again τούς the δώδεκα Twelve, ἤρξατο He began αὐτοῖς them λέγειν to tell τά the things μέλλοντα being about αὐτῷ to Him συμβαίνειν to happen: ὅτι - Ἰδού Behold, ἀναβαίνομεν we go up εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα, Jerusalem, καί and ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man παραδοθήσεται will be betrayed τοῖς to the ἀρχιερεῦσιν chief priests καί and τοῖς to the γραμματεῦσιν, scribes, καί and κατακρινοῦσιν they will condemn αὐτόν Him θανάτῳ to death, καί and παραδώσουσιν will betray αὐτόν Him τοῖς to the ἔθνεσιν Gentiles. καί And ἐμπαίξουσιν they will mock αὐτῷ Him, καί and ἐμπτύσουσιν will spit upon αὐτῷ Him, καί and μαστιγώσουσιν will flog αὐτόν Him, καί and ἀποκτενοῦσιν, will kill, καί and μετά on the τρεῖς third ἡμέρας day ἀναστήσεται. He will rise again.
Καί And προσπορεύονται come up αὐτῷ to Him Ἰάκωβος James καί and Ἰωάννης John, οἱ the υἱοί sons Ζεβεδαίου of Zebedee, λέγοντες saying to αὐτῷ· Him, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, θέλομεν we desire ἵνα that ὅ whatever ἐάν if αἰτήσωμεν we might ask σε you, ποιήσῃς You would do ἡμῖν. for us. ὁ - δέ And εἶπεν He said αὐτοῖς· to them, Τί What θέλετε do you desire με Me ποιήσω to do ὑμῖν; for you? οἱ - δέ And εἶπαν they said αὐτῷ· to Him, Δός Grant ἡμῖν to us ἵνα that εἷς one σου of [us] ἐκ at δεξιῶν [Your] right hand, καί and εἷς one ἐκ at ἀριστερῶν [Your] left hand, καθίσωμεν we might sit ἐν in τῇ the δόξῃ glory σου. of You. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, οὐκ Not οἴδατε you know τί what αἰτεῖσθε. you ask. δύνασθε Are you able πιεῖν to drink τό the ποτήριον cup ὅ which ἐγώ I πίνω drink, ἤ and τό the βάπτισμα baptism ὅ which ἐγώ I βαπτίζομαι am baptized , βαπτισθῆναι; to be baptized [with]? οἱ - δέ And εἶπαν they said αὐτῷ· to Him, Δυνάμεθα. We are able. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Τό The ποτήριον cup ὅ which ἐγώ I πίνω drink, πίεσθε you will drink; καί and τό the βάπτισμα baptism ὅ which ἐγώ I βαπτίζομαι am baptized , βαπτισθήσεσθε, you will be baptized [with]; τό - δέ but καθίσαι to sit ἐκ at δεξιῶν [the] right hand μου of Me ἤ or ἐκ at εὐωνύμων [the] left hand, οὐ not ἔστιν is ἐμόν Mine δοῦναι, to give, ἀλλ ̓ but [to those] οἷς for whom ἡτοίμασται. it has been prepared. Καί And ἀκούσαντες having heard [this], οἱ the δέκα ten ἤρξαντο began ἀγανακτεῖν to be indignant περί about Ἰακώβου James καί and Ἰωάννου. John. καί And προσκαλεσάμενος having called near αὐτούς them, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus λέγει says αὐτοῖς· to them, Οἴδατε You know ὅτι that οἱ those δοκοῦντες being accounted ἄρχειν to rule over τῶν the ἐθνῶν Gentiles κατακυριεύουσιν exercise lordship over αὐτῶν them; καί and οἱ those μεγάλοι great ones αὐτῶν of them κατεξουσιάζουσιν exercise authority over αὐτῶν. them.
