ὁ - δέ And ἑκατόνταρχος the centurion καί and οἱ those μετ ̓ with αὐτοῦ him τηροῦντες keeping guard over τόν - Ἰησοῦν Jesus, ἰδόντες having seen τόν the σεισμόν earthquake καί and τά the things γενόμενα taking place, ἐφοβήθησαν feared σφόδρα, greatly, λέγοντες· saying, Ἀληθῶς Truly Θεοῦ God’s Υἱός Son ἦν was οὗτος. this.

Ἦσαν They were δέ now ἐκεῖ there γυναῖκες women πολλαί many ἀπό from μακρόθεν afar off, θεωροῦσαι, looking on, αἵτινες who ἠκολούθησαν followed τῷ - Ἰησοῦ Jesus ἀπό from τῆς - Γαλιλαίας Galilee, διακονοῦσαι ministering αὐτῷ· to Him, ἐν among αἷς whom ἦν was Μαρία Mary ἡ - Μαγδαληνή Magdalene, καί and Μαρία Mary ἡ the τοῦ - Ἰακώβου of James καί and Ἰωσήφ Joseph μήτηρ mother, καί and ἡ the μήτηρ mother τῶν of the υἱῶν sons Ζεβεδαίου. of Zebedee.

Ὀψίας Evening δέ now γενομένης having arrived, ἦλθεν came ἄνθρωπος a man πλούσιος rich ἀπό from Ἁριμαθαίας, Arimathea, τοὔνομα named Ἰωσήφ, Joseph, ὅς who καί also αὐτός himself ἐμαθητεύθη was discipled τῷ - Ἰησοῦ· to Jesus. οὗτος He προσελθών having gone τῷ - Πιλάτῳ to Pilate, ᾐτήσατο asked for τό the σῶμα body τοῦ - Ἰησοῦ. of Jesus. τότε Then ὁ - Πιλᾶτος Pilate ἐκέλευσεν commanded it ἀποδοθῆναι. to be given up. καί And λαβών having taken τό the σῶμα body, ὁ - Ἰωσήφ Joseph ἐνετύλιξεν wrapped αὐτό it ἐν in σινδόνι a linen cloth καθαρᾷ clean καί and ἔθηκεν placed αὐτό it ἐν in τῷ the καινῷ new αὐτοῦ of him μνημείῳ tomb, ὅ which ἐλατόμησεν he had cut ἐν in τῇ the πέτρᾳ rock; καί and προσκυλίσας having rolled λίθον a stone μέγαν great τῇ to the θύρᾳ door τοῦ of the μνημείου tomb, ἀπῆλθεν. he went away. Ἦν Was δέ now ἐκεῖ there Μαριάμ Mary ἡ - Μαγδαληνή Magdalene, καί and ἡ the ἄλλη other Μαρία Mary, καθήμεναι sitting ἀπέναντι opposite τοῦ the τάφου. tomb.

Τῇ - δέ And ἐπαύριον, the next day, ἥτις which ἐστίν is μετά after τήν the Παρασκευήν, Preparation, συνήχθησαν were gathered together οἱ the ἀρχιερεῖς chief priests καί and οἱ the Φαρισαῖοι Pharisees πρός before Πιλᾶτον Pilate, λέγοντες· saying, Κύριε, Sir, ἐμνήσθημεν we have remembered ὅτι how ἐκεῖνος that ὁ - πλάνος deceiver εἶπεν said ἔτι while ζῶν· living, Μετά After τρεῖς three ἡμέρας days ἐγείρομαι. Ἔφη Said αὐτοῖς to them ὁ - Πιλᾶτος· Pilate, Ἔχετε You have κουστωδίαν· a guard. ὑπάγετε Go ἀσφαλίσασθε make [it as] secure ὡς as οἴδατε. you know [how]. οἱ - δέ And πορευθέντες having gone, ἠσφαλίσαντο they made secure τόν the τάφον tomb, σφραγίσαντες having sealed τόν the λίθον stone, μετά with τῆς the κουστωδίας. guard. Ὀψέ After δέ then σαββάτων, [the] Sabbaths, τῇ it ἐπιφωσκούσῃ being dawn εἰς toward μίαν [the] first [day] σαββάτων of [the] week, ἦλθεν came Μαριάμ Mary ἡ - Μαγδαληνή Magdalene καί and ἡ the ἄλλη other Μαρία Mary, θεωρῆσαι to see τόν the τάφον. tomb. Καί And ἰδού behold, σεισμός an earthquake ἐγένετο there was μέγας· great; ἄγγελος an angel γάρ for Κυρίου of [the] Lord, καταβάς having descended ἐκ out of οὐρανοῦ heaven, καί and προσελθών having come, ἀπεκύλισεν rolled away τόν the λίθον stone καί and ἐκάθητο was sitting ἐπάνω upon αὐτοῦ. it. ἦν Was δέ now ἡ the εἰδέα appearance αὐτοῦ of him ὡς like ἀστραπή lightning, καί and τό the ἔνδυμα clothing αὐτοῦ of him λευκόν white ὡς as χιών. snow. ἀπό From δέ now τοῦ the φόβου fear αὐτοῦ of him ἐσείσθησαν trembled οἱ those τηροῦντες keeping guard καί and ἐγενήθησαν became ὡς as νεκροί. dead [men]. Ἀποκριθείς Answering δέ now, ὁ the ἄγγελος angel εἶπεν said ταῖς to the γυναιξίν· women, Μή Not φοβεῖσθε fear ὑμεῖς, you; οἶδα I know γάρ for ὅτι that Ἰησοῦν Jesus, τόν the [One] ἐσταυρωμένον having been crucified, ζητεῖτε· you seek. οὐ Not ἔστιν He is ὧδε, here; ἠγέρθη He is risen γάρ for, καθώς as εἶπεν· He said. δεῦτε Come, ἴδετε see τόν the τόπον place ὅπου where ἔκειτο. He was lying. καί And ταχύ quickly πορευθεῖσαι having gone, εἴπατε say τοῖς to the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ of Him ὅτι that Ἠγέρθη He is risen ἀπό from τῶν the νεκρῶν, dead καί and ἰδού behold, προάγει He goes before ὑμᾶς you εἰς into τήν - Γαλιλαίαν, Galilee; ἐκεῖ there αὐτόν Him ὄψεσθε· you will see. ἰδού Behold, εἶπον I have told ὑμῖν. you.

Καί And ἀπελθοῦσαι having gone out ταχύ quickly ἀπό from τοῦ the μνημείου tomb μετά with φόβου fear καί and χαρᾶς joy μεγάλης great, ἔδραμον they ran ἀπαγγεῖλαι to tell τοῖς the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ. of Him. καί And ἰδού behold, Ἰησοῦς Jesus ὑπήντησεν met αὐταῖς them, λέγων· saying, Χαίρετε. Greetings! αἱ - δέ And προσελθοῦσαι having come to [Him], ἐκράτησαν they took hold of αὐτοῦ His τούς - πόδας feet καί and προσεκύνησαν worshiped αὐτῷ. Him. τότε Then λέγει says αὐταῖς to them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, Μή Not φοβεῖσθε· fear. ὑπάγετε Go, ἀπαγγείλατε tell τοῖς the ἀδελφοῖς brothers, μου of Me ἵνα so that ἀπέλθωσιν they should go εἰς into τήν - Γαλιλαίαν, Galilee, κἀκεῖ and there με Me ὄψονται. will they see.

Πορευομένων [As] were going δέ now αὐτῶν they, ἰδού behold, τινές some τῆς of the κουστωδίας guard, ἐλθόντες having gone εἰς into τήν the πόλιν city, ἀπήγγειλαν reported τοῖς to the ἀρχιερεῦσιν chief priests ἅπαντα all τά the things γενόμενα. having been done. καί And συναχθέντες having been gathered together μετά with τῶν the πρεσβυτέρων elders, συμβούλιον counsel τέ then λαβόντες having taken, ἀργύρια silver pieces ἱκανά many ἔδωκαν they gave τοῖς to the στρατιώταις soldiers, λέγοντες· saying, Εἴπατε Say ὅτι that οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ of Him, νυκτός by night ἐλθόντες having come, ἔκλεψαν stole αὐτόν Him, ἡμῶν we κοιμωμένων. being asleep. καί And ἐάν if ἀκουσθῇ is heard τοῦτο this ἐπί by τοῦ the ἡγεμόνος, governor, ἡμεῖς we πείσομεν will persuade αὐτόν him, καί and ὑμᾶς you ἀμερίμνους out of trouble ποιήσομεν. will keep. οἱ - δέ And λαβόντες having taken τά the ἀργύρια money, ἐποίησαν they did ὡς as ἐδιδάχθησαν. they were instructed. Καί And διεφημίσθη is spread abroad ὁ the λόγος report οὗτος this παρά among [the] Ἰουδαίοις Jews, μέχρι until τῆς the σήμερον present ἡμέρας. day.

οἱ - δέ And ἕνδεκα the eleven μαθηταί disciples ἐπορεύθησαν went εἰς into τήν - Γαλιλαίαν Galilee, εἰς to τό the ὄρος mountain οὗ where ἐτάξατο assigned αὐτοῖς them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς, Jesus. καί And ἰδόντες having seen αὐτόν Him προσεκύνησαν, they worshiped; οἱ some δέ however ἐδίστασαν. doubted. Καί And προσελθών having come to [them], ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐλάλησεν spoke αὐτοῖς to them, λέγων· saying, Ἐδόθη Has been given μοι to Me πᾶσα all ἐξουσία authority ἐν in οὐρανῷ heaven καί and ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς. earth. πορευθέντες Having gone οὖν therefore, μαθητεύσατε disciple πάντα all τά the ἔθνη, nations, βαπτίζοντες baptizing αὐτούς them εἰς in τό the ὄνομα name τοῦ of the Πατρός Father, καί and τοῦ of the Υἱοῦ Son, καί and τοῦ of the Ἁγίου Holy Πνεύματος, Spirit, διδάσκοντες teaching αὐτούς them τηρεῖν to observe πάντα all things, ὅσα whatever ἐνετειλάμην I commanded ὑμῖν· you. καί And ἰδού behold, ἐγώ I μεθ ̓ with ὑμῶν you εἰμί am πάσας all τάς the ἡμέρας days, ἕως until τῆς the συντελείας completion τοῦ of the αἰῶνος. age.
