Καί And ἠκολούθησαν followed αὐτῷ Him ὄχλοι crowds πολλοί great ἀπό from τῆς - Γαλιλαίας Galilee, καί and Δεκαπόλεως [the] Decapolis, καί and Ἱεροσολύμων Jerusalem, καί and Ἰουδαίας Judea, καί and πέραν beyond τοῦ the Ἰορδάνου. Jordan.
Ἰδών Having seen δέ then τούς the ὄχλους crowds, ἀνέβη He went up εἰς on τό the ὄρος, mountain; καί and καθίσαντος having sat down αὐτοῦ of Him, προσῆλθαν came αὐτῷ to Him οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him. καί And ἀνοίξας opening τό the στόμα mouth αὐτοῦ of Him, ἐδίδασκεν He was teaching αὐτούς them, λέγων· saying: Μακάριοι Blessed [are] οἱ the πτωχοί poor τῷ in the πνεύματι, spirit, Ὅτι for αὐτῶν theirs ἐστίν is ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν. heavens. Μακάριοι Blessed [are] οἱ those πενθοῦντες, mourning, Ὅτι for αὐτοί they παρακληθήσονται. will be comforted. Ἐρρέθη It was said δέ· also, Ὅς Whoever ἄν - ἀπολύσῃ shall divorce τήν the γυναῖκα wife αὐτοῦ, of him, δότω let him give αὐτῇ to her ἀποστάσιον. a letter of divorce.’ ἐγώ I δέ however λέγω say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that πᾶς everyone ὁ - ἀπολύων divorcing τήν the γυναῖκα wife αὐτοῦ of him, παρεκτός except λόγου on account πορνείας of sexual immorality, ποιεῖ causes αὐτήν her μοιχευθῆναι, to commit adultery. καί And ὅς whoever ἐάν if ἀπολελυμένην her having been divorced γαμήσῃ, shall marry, μοιχᾶται. commits adultery.
Πάλιν Again, ἠκούσατε you have heard ὅτι that ἐρρέθη it was said τοῖς to the ἀρχαίοις· ancients, οὐκ Not ἐπιορκήσεις, shall you swear falsely; ἀποδώσεις you shall keep δέ now τῷ to the Κυρίῳ Lord τούς the ὅρκους oaths σου. of you. ἐγώ I δέ however λέγω say ὑμῖν to you μή not ὀμόσαι to swear ὅλως· at all: μήτε neither ἐν by τῷ - οὐρανῷ, heaven, ὅτι because θρόνος [the] throne ἐστίν it is τοῦ - Θεοῦ, of God; μήτε nor ἐν by τῇ the γῇ, earth, ὅτι because ὑποπόδιον [the] footstool ἐστίν it is τῶν of the ποδῶν feet αὐτοῦ, of Him; μήτε nor εἰς by Ἱεροσόλυμα, Jerusalem, ὅτι because πόλις [the] city ἐστίν it is τοῦ of the μεγάλου great Βασιλέως, King. μήτε Neither ἐν by τῇ the κεφαλῇ head σου of you ὀμόσῃς, shall you swear, ὅτι because οὐ not δύνασαι you are able μίαν one τρίχα hair λευκήν white ποιῆσαι to make, ἤ or μέλαιναν. black. ἔστω Let it be δέ however ὁ the λόγος statement ὑμῶν of you, Ναί Yes, ναί, ‘Yes, οὔ [and] ‘No, Οὔ· No. τό The δέ however περισσόν more than τούτων these, ἐκ from τοῦ - πονηροῦ evil ἐστίν. comes.

Καί And ὅταν when προσεύχησθε, you pray, οὐ not ἔσεσθε you shall be ὡς like οἱ the ὑποκριταί, hypocrites, ὅτι for φιλοῦσιν they love ἐν in ταῖς the συναγωγαῖς synagogues καί and ἐν on ταῖς the γωνίαις corners τῶν of the πλατειῶν streets ἑστῶτες standing προσεύχεσθαι, to pray, ὅπως so that φανῶσιν they might be seen τοῖς - ἀνθρώποις· by men. ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, ἀπέχουσιν they have τόν the μισθόν reward αὐτῶν. of them. σύ You δέ however, ὅταν when προσεύχῃ, you pray, εἴσελθε enter εἰς into τό the ταμεῖον room σου of you, καί and κλείσας having shut τήν the θύραν door σου of you, πρόσευξαι pray τῷ to Πατρί Father σου of you, τῷ the [One] ἐν in τῷ - κρυπτῷ· secret. καί And ὁ the Πατήρ Father σου of you, ὁ the [One] βλέπων seeing ἐν in τῷ - κρυπτῷ secret, ἀποδώσει will reward σοι. you. Προσευχόμενοι Praying δέ now μή not βατταλογήσητε do use vain repetitions, ὥσπερ like οἱ the ἐθνικοί, pagans, δοκοῦσιν they think γάρ for ὅτι that ἐν in τῇ the πολυλογίᾳ many words αὐτῶν of them εἰσακουσθήσονται. they will be heard.
