Ἰδού Look, ἀπό from τῆς the πιότητος abundance τῆς of the γῆς land ἔσται will be ἡ - κατοίκησις dwelling σου, your

καί and ἀπό from τῆς the δρόσου dew τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ of heaven ἄνωθεν· from on high,

καί and ἐπί by τῇ - μαχαίρῃ sword σου your ζήσῃ, you will live

καί and τῷ - ἀδελφῷ brother. σου your δουλεύσεις. you will serve

ἔσται It will be δέ - ἡνίκα when ἐάν -ever καθέλῃς you destroy,

καί then ἐκλύσεις you will set free τόν - ζυγόν yoke αὐτοῦ his ἀπό from τοῦ - τραχήλου neck. σου. your

Εἶπεν said δέ - Ῥεβέκκα Rebekah πρός to Ἰσαάκ Isaac: Προσώχθικα I am weary τῇ - ζωῇ life μου of my διά because of τάς the θυγατέρας daughters τῶν of the υἱῶν sons Χέτ· of Heth. εἰ If λήμψεται take Ἰακώβ Jacob γυναῖκα a woman ἀπό from τῶν the θυγατέρων daughters τῆς - γῆς land, ταύτης, of this ἵνα - τί why μοι (do) I ζῇν; live?

προσκαλεσάμενος after summoning δέ - Ἰσαάκ Isaac, τόν - Ἰακώβ Jacob, εὐλόγησεν blessed αὐτόν, him καί and ἐνετείλατο charged αὐτῷ him λέγων saying: οὐ not λήμψῃ You will take γυναῖκα a woman ἐκ from τῶν the θυγατέρων daughters Χανάαν· of Canaan, ἀναστάς Rise (and) ἀπόδραθι escape εἰς to τήν - Μεσοποταμίαν Mesopotamia Συρίας of Syria εἰς to τόν the οἶκον house Βαθουήλ of Bethuel τοῦ the πατρός father τῆς - μητρός mother σου, of your καί and λάβε take σεαυτῷ for yourself ἐκεῖθεν from there γυναῖκα a woman ἐκ from τῶν the θυγατέρων daughters Λαβάν of Laban τοῦ the ἀδελφοῦ brother τῆς - μητρός mother. σου. of your ὁ - δέ - θεός God μου my εὐλογήσαι May bless σε you καί and αὐξήσαι may he increase σε you καί and πληθύναι may he multiply σε, you, καί and ἔσῃ you will be εἰς into συναγωγάς a gathering ἐθνῶν· of nations, καί and δῴη may he give σοι you τήν the εὐλογίαν blessing Ἀβραάμ of Abraham τοῦ - πατρός father, σου, your σοί to you καί and τῷ - σπέρματι offspring σου (to) your μετά after σέ, you κληρονομῆσαι to inherit τήν the γῆν land τῆς - παροικήσεως sojourning σου, of your ἥν which δέδωκεν has given ὁ - θεός God τῷ - Ἀβραάμ. to Abraham. καί So ἀπέστειλεν sent off Ἰσαάκ Isaac τόν - Ἰακώβ, Jacob, καί and ἐπορεύθη he went εἰς to τήν - Μεσοποταμίαν Mesopotamia πρός to Λαβάν Laban τόν the υἱόν son Βαθουήλ of Bethuel τοῦ the Σύρου, Aramean, ἀδελφόν brother δέ and Ῥεβέκκας of Rebekah τῆς the μητρός mother Ἰακώβ of Jacob καί and Ἠσαύ. Mesopotamia καί and ἴδεν saw Ἠσαύ Esau ὅτι that πονηραί evil εἰσίν were αἱ the θυγατέρες daughters Χανάαν of Canaanite ἐναντίον before Ἰσαάκ Isaac τοῦ - πατρός father. αὐτοῦ, his καί So ἐπορεύθη went Ἠσαύ Esau πρός to Ἰσμαήλ, Ishmael καί and ἔλαβεν took τήν - Μαελέθ Mahalath θυγατέρα the daughter Ἰσμαήλ of Ishmael τοῦ the υἱοῦ son Ἀβραάμ, of Abraham, ἀδελφήν the sister Ναβαιώθ, of Nebaioth, πρός to ταῖς - γυναιξίν wives αὐτοῦ his γυναῖκα. (as) a wife.

Καί And ἐξῆλθεν came out Ἰακώβ Jacob ἀπό from τοῦ the φρέατος Well τοῦ of the ὅρκου, Oath καί and ἐπορεύθη went εἰς to Χαρράν. Haran. καί And ἀπήντησεν he came to τόπῳ a place καί and ἐκοιμήθη slept ἐκεῖ· there, ἔδυ set, γάρ for ὁ the ἥλιος· sun καί and ἔλαβεν he took ἀπό from τῶν the λίθων stones τοῦ of the τόπου place καί and ἐπέθηκεν put (it) πρός at κεφαλῆς head αὐτοῦ, his καί and ἐκοιμήθη he laid down ἐν in τῷ - τόπῳ place. ἐκείνῳ. that καί And ἐνυπνιάσθη· he dreamed, καί and ἰδού look, κλίμαξ a ladder ἐστηριγμένη having been fixed ἐν upon τῇ the γῇ earth, ἧς whose ἡ - κεφαλή top ἀφικνεῖτο was reaching εἰς into τόν - οὐρανόν, heaven, καί and οἱ the ἄγγελοι messengers τοῦ - θεοῦ of God ἀνέβαινον were ascending καί and κατέβαινον descending ἐπ ̓ upon αὐτῆς. it. ὁ The δέ - Κύριος Lord ἐπεστήρικτο had rested ἐπ ̓ upon αὐτῆς it καί and εἶπεν said: Ἐγώ I (am) ὁ the θεός God Ἀβραάμ of Abraham τοῦ - πατρός father σου your καί and ὁ the θεός God Ἰσαάκ· of Isaac. μή (Do) not φοβοῦ· fear! ἡ The γῆ land ἐφ ̓ on ἧς which σύ you καθεύδεις are sleeping ἐπ ̓ upon αὐτῆς, it, σοί to you δώσω I will give αὐτήν it καί and τῷ - σπέρματι offspring. σου. (to) your καί And ἔσται will be τό - σπέρμα offspring σου your ὡς like ἡ the ἄμμος sand τῆς of the θαλάσσης, sea καί and πλατυνθήσεται it will enlarge ἐπί to θάλασσαν the sea καί and ἐπί to λίβα the south καί and ἐπί to βορρᾶν the north καί and ἐπ ̓ to ἀνατολάς· the east, καί and ἐνευλογηθήσονται will be blessed ἐν in σοί you πᾶσαι all αἱ the φυλαί tribes τῆς of the γῆς earth καί and ἐν in τῷ - σπέρματι offspring. σου. your καί And ἰδού look, ἐγώ I (am) μετά with σοῦ, you, διαφυλάσσων carefully guarding σε you ἐν in τῇ - ὁδῷ way, πάσῃ every οὗ where ἐάν -ever πορευθῇς, you go, καί and ἀποστρέψω I will bring back σε you εἰς into τήν - γῆν land, ταύτην· this ὅτι because οὐ not μή - σε you ἐγκαταλείπω I shall leave behind ἕως until τοῦ - ποιῆσαι have done με I πάντα all things, ὅσα as many as ἐλάλησα I told σοι. you. καί And ἐξηγέρθη awoke Ἰακώβ Jacob ἀπό from τοῦ - ὕπνου sleep αὐτοῦ his καί and εἶπεν said: ὅτι - Ἔστιν is Κύριος (The) LORD ἐν in τῷ - τόπῳ place, τούτῳ, this ἐγώ I δέ but οὐ not ᾔδειν. did know (it). καί And ἐφοβήθη, he was afraid καί and εἶπεν said: ὡς How φοβερός awesome ὁ - τόπος place! οὗτος· (is) this οὐ not ἔστιν is τοῦτο This ἀλλ ̓ but ἤ than οἶκος a house θεοῦ, of God, καί and αὕτη this (is) ἡ the πύλη door τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ. of heaven. καί So ἀνέστη rose Ἰακώβ Jacob τό in the πρωΐ, morning καί and ἔλαβεν he took τόν the λίθον stone, ὅν which ἔθηκεν he put ἐκεῖ there πρός at κεφαλῆς head, αὐτοῦ his καί and ἔστησεν he erected αὐτόν it στήλην, (as) a pillar καί and ἐπέχεεν he poured out ἔλαιον olive oil ἐπί on τό the ἄκρον top αὐτῆς of it. καί And ἐκάλεσεν called Ἰακώβ Jacob τό the ὄνομα name τοῦ - τόπου place ἐκείνου of that Οἶκος ‘House θεοῦ· of God’, καί and Οὐλαμμαύς Luz ἦν was ὄνομα the name τῇ of the πόλει city τό - πρότερον. formerly. καί And ηὔξατο made Ἰακώβ Jacob εὐχήν a vow, λέγων saying: Ἐάν If ᾖ is Κύριος (the) LORD ὁ - θεός God μετ ̓ with ἐμοῦ, me καί and διαφυλάξῃ keeps με me ἐν on τῇ - ὁδῷ journey ταύτῃ this ᾗ on which ἐγώ I πορεύομαι, am going, καί and δῷ gives μοι me ἄρτον food φαγεῖν to eat καί and ἱμάτιον clothing περιβαλέσθαι, to put on καί and ἀποστρέψῃ brings back με me μετά with σωτηρίας safety εἰς to τόν the οἶκον house τοῦ - πατρός father, μου, of my καί then ἔσται will be μοι to me Κύριος (the) LORD εἰς for θεόν· God, καί and ὁ - λίθος stone, οὗτος, this ὅν which ἔστησα I erected στήλην, (as) a pillar, ἔσται will be μοι to me οἶκος a house θεοῦ· of God, καί and πάντων of all things, ὧν what ἐάν -ever μοι to me, δῷς, you give δεκάτην a tenth ἀποδεκατώσω I will tithe αὐτά (of) it σοι. to you.

Καί And ἐξάρας having lifted Ἰακώβ having τούς his πόδας feet, ἐπορεύθη went εἰς to γῆν the land ἀνατολῶν of the east πρός to Λαβάν Laban τόν the υἱόν son Βαθουήλ of Bethuel τοῦ the Σύρου, Syrians ἀδελφόν (the) brother δέ and Ῥεβέκκας of Rebekah μητρός (the) mother Ἰακώβ of Jacob καί and Ἠσαύ. We are εἶπεν He said δέ - αὐτοῖς to them: Γινώσκετε Do you know Λαβάν Laban τόν the υἱόν son Ναχώρ; of Nahor? οἱ They δέ - εἶπαν said: Γινώσκομεν. We know (him). εἶπεν He said δέ - αὐτοῖς to them: Ὑγιαίνει; Is he in good health? οἱ They δέ - εἶπαν said: Ὑγιαίνει. He is in good health. ἔτι still αὐτοῦ he λαλοῦντος speaking καί - ἰδού beohld!
