μακάριος Blessed [is] ὁ the δοῦλος servant ἐκεῖνος that, ὅν whom ἐλθών having come, ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ of him εὑρήσει will find οὕτως thus ποιοῦντα· doing. ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ἐπί over πᾶσιν all τοῖς the ὑπάρχουσιν possessing αὐτοῦ of him καταστήσει he will set αὐτόν. him. Ἐάν If δέ however εἴπῃ should say ὁ the κακός evil δοῦλος servant ἐκεῖνος that ἐν in τῇ the καρδίᾳ heart αὐτοῦ· of him, Χρονίζει Delays μου of Me ὁ the κύριος, master, καί and ἄρξηται should begin τύπτειν to beat τούς the συνδούλους fellow servants αὐτοῦ, of him, ἐσθίῃ to eat δέ then καί and πίνῃ to drink μετά with τῶν those μεθυόντων, being drunkards, ἥξει will come ὁ the κύριος master τοῦ the δούλου servant ἐκείνου of that ἐν in ἡμέρᾳ a day ᾗ in which οὐ not προσδοκᾷ he does expect, καί and ἐν in ὥρᾳ an hour ᾗ which οὐ not γινώσκει, he is aware, καί and διχοτομήσει will cut in pieces αὐτόν him, καί and τό the μέρος place αὐτοῦ of him μετά with τῶν the ὑποκριτῶν hypocrites θήσει· will appoint; ἐκεῖ there ἔσται will be ὁ the κλαυθμός weeping καί and ὁ the βρυγμός gnashing τῶν of ὀδόντων. teeth.
Τότε Then ὁμοιωθήσεται will be likened ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν heavens δέκα to ten παρθένοις, virgins, αἵτινες who λαβοῦσαι having taken τάς the λαμπάδας lamps ἑαυτῶν of them, ἐξῆλθον went forth εἰς to ὑπάντησιν meet τοῦ the νυμφίου. bridegroom. πέντε Five δέ now ἐκ of αὐτῶν them ἦσαν were μωραί foolish, καί and πέντε five φρόνιμοι. wise. αἱ The γάρ for μωραί foolish, λαβοῦσαι having taken τάς the λαμπάδας lamps αὐτῶν of them, οὐ not ἔλαβον did take μεθ ̓ with ἑαυτῶν them ἔλαιον. oil; αἱ - δέ but φρόνιμοι the wise ἔλαβον took ἔλαιον oil ἐν in τοῖς the ἀγγείοις vessels, μετά with τῶν the λαμπάδων lamps ἑαυτῶν. of them. χρονίζοντος Tarrying δέ then τοῦ the νυμφίου bridegroom, ἐνύσταξαν they became drowsy πᾶσαι all καί and ἐκάθευδον. were sleeping. Μέσης At middle δέ then νυκτός of [the] night, κραυγή a cry γέγονεν· there was: Ἰδού Behold, ὁ the νυμφίος, bridegroom! ἐξέρχεσθε Go forth εἰς to ἀπάντησιν meet αὐτοῦ. him! Τότε Then ἠγέρθησαν arose πᾶσαι all αἱ the παρθένοι virgins ἐκεῖναι those καί and ἐκόσμησαν trimmed τάς the λαμπάδας lamps ἑαυτῶν. of them. αἱ - δέ And μωραί the foolish ταῖς to the φρονίμοις wise εἶπαν· said, Δότε Give ἡμῖν us ἐκ of τοῦ the ἐλαίου oil ὑμῶν, of you, ὅτι for αἱ the λαμπάδες lamps ἡμῶν of us σβέννυνται. are going out. Ἀπεκρίθησαν Answered δέ then αἱ the φρόνιμοι wise, λέγουσαι· saying, Μήποτε Lest οὐ no μή not even ἀρκέσῃ it might suffice ἡμῖν for us καί and ὑμῖν· you. πορεύεσθε Go μᾶλλον rather πρός to τούς those πωλοῦντας selling, καί and ἀγοράσατε buy ἑαυταῖς. for yourselves. Ἀπερχομένων [While] are going away δέ then αὐτῶν they ἀγοράσαι to buy, ἦλθεν came ὁ the νυμφίος, bridegroom, καί and αἱ those ἕτοιμοι ready εἰσῆλθον went in μετ ̓ with αὐτοῦ him εἰς to τούς the γάμους wedding feast; καί and ἐκλείσθη was shut ἡ the θύρα. door. Ὕστερον Afterward δέ then ἔρχονται come καί also αἱ the λοιπαί other παρθένοι virgins, λέγουσαι· saying, Κύριε Lord, κύριε, Lord, ἄνοιξον open ἡμῖν. to us! ὁ - δέ And ἀποκριθείς answering εἶπεν· he said, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, οὐ not οἶδα I do know ὑμᾶς. you. Γρηγορεῖτε Watch οὖν, therefore, ὅτι for οὐ neither οἴδατε do you know τήν the ἡμέραν day, οὐδέ nor τήν the ὥραν. hour. Ὥσπερ [It is] like γάρ for ἄνθρωπος a man ἀποδημῶν going on a journey ἐκάλεσεν [who] called τούς the ἰδίους own δούλους servants, καί and παρέδωκεν delivered αὐτοῖς to them τά the ὑπάρχοντα possessing αὐτοῦ, of him. καί And ᾧ to one μέν indeed ἔδωκεν he gave πέντε five τάλαντα, talents, ᾧ to one δέ then δύο, two, ᾧ to one δέ then ἕν, one, ἑκάστῳ to each κατά according to τήν the ἰδίαν own δύναμιν, ability; καί and ἀπεδήμησεν. he left the region Εὐθέως immediately. Πορευθείς Having gone, ὁ the [one] τά the πέντε five τάλαντα talents λαβών having received ἠργάσατο traded ἐν with αὐτοῖς them καί and ἐκέρδησεν made ἄλλα more πέντε· five. ὡσαύτως Likewise, ὁ the [one with] τά the δύο two ἐκέρδησεν gained ἄλλα more δύο. two. ὁ The [one] δέ however τό - ἕν one λαβών having received, ἀπελθών having gone away, ὤρυξεν dug in γῆν the ground καί and ἔκρυψεν hid τό the ἀργύριον money τοῦ of the κυρίου master αὐτοῦ. of him. Μετά After δέ then πολύν much χρόνον time, ἔρχεται comes ὁ the κύριος master τῶν of the δούλων servants ἐκείνων those καί and συναίρει takes λόγον account μετ ̓ with αὐτῶν. them. καί And προσελθών having come, ὁ the [one] τά the πέντε five τάλαντα talents λαβών having received προσήνεγκεν brought to [him] ἄλλα other πέντε five τάλαντα talents, λέγων· saying, Κύριε, Master, πέντε five τάλαντα talents μοι to me παρέδωκας· you did deliver. ἴδε Behold, ἄλλα more πέντε five τάλαντα talents ἐκέρδησα. have I gained. Ἔφη Said αὐτῷ to him ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ· of Him, Εὖ, Well done, δοῦλε servant ἀγαθέ good καί and πιστέ, faithful! ἐπί Over ὀλίγα a few things ἦς you were πιστός, faithful; ἐπί over πολλῶν many things σε you καταστήσω· will I set. εἴσελθε Enter εἰς into τήν the χαράν joy τοῦ of the κυρίου master σου. of you! Προσελθών Having come δέ then καί also ὁ the [one] τά with the δύο two τάλαντα talents, εἶπεν· he said, Κύριε, Master, δύο two τάλαντα talents μοι to me παρέδωκας· you did deliver. ἴδε Behold, ἄλλα more δύο two τάλαντα talents ἐκέρδησα. have I gained. Ἔφη Said αὐτῷ to him ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ· of Him, Εὖ, Well done, δοῦλε servant ἀγαθέ good καί and πιστέ, faithful! ἐπί Over ὀλίγα a few things ἦς you were πιστός, faithful; ἐπί over πολλῶν many things σε you καταστήσω· will I set. εἴσελθε Enter εἰς into τήν the χαράν joy τοῦ of the κυρίου master σου. of you! Προσελθών Having come δέ then καί also ὁ the [one] τό the ἕν one τάλαντον talent εἰληφώς having received, εἶπεν· he said, Κύριε, Master, ἔγνων I knew σε you, ὅτι that σκληρός hard εἶ you are ἄνθρωπος, a man, θερίζων reaping ὅπου where οὐ not ἔσπειρας you did sow, καί and συνάγων gathering ὅθεν from where οὐ not διεσκόρπισας, you did scatter. καί And φοβηθείς having been afraid, ἀπελθών having gone away, ἔκρυψα I hid τό the τάλαντον talent σου of you ἐν in τῇ the γῇ· ground. ἴδε Behold, ἔχεις you have τό what [is] σόν. yours. Ἀποκριθείς Answering δέ now, ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ of him εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to him, Πονηρέ Wicked δοῦλε servant καί and ὀκνηρέ, lazy! ᾔδεις You knew ὅτι that θερίζω I reap ὅπου where οὐ not ἔσπειρα I sowed, καί and συνάγω gather ὅθεν from where οὐ not διεσκόρπισα; I scattered. ἔδει It behooved σε you οὖν therefore βαλεῖν to put τά the ἀργύρια money μου of me τοῖς to the τραπεζίταις, bankers, καί and ἐλθών having come, ἐγώ I ἐκομισάμην would have received ἄν - τό - ἐμόν my own σύν with τόκῳ. interest. Ἄρατε Take οὖν therefore ἀπ ̓ from αὐτοῦ him τό the τάλαντον talent, καί and δότε give [it] τῷ to the [one] ἔχοντι having τά the δέκα ten τάλαντα· talents. τῷ - γάρ For ἔχοντι having, παντί to everyone δοθήσεται will be given, καί and περισσευθήσεται, he will have in abundance; τοῦ the [one] δέ however μή not ἔχοντος having, καί even ὅ that which ἔχει he has ἀρθήσεται will be taken away ἀπ ̓ from αὐτοῦ. him. καί And τόν the ἀχρεῖον worthless δοῦλον servant, ἐκβάλετε cast out εἰς into τό the σκότος darkness τό - ἐξώτερον· outer; ἐκεῖ there ἔσται will be ὁ the κλαυθμός weeping καί and ὁ the βρυγμός gnashing τῶν of the ὀδόντων. teeth.
Ὅταν When δέ then ἔλθῃ comes ὁ the υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man ἐν in τῇ the δόξῃ glory αὐτοῦ of Him, καί and πάντες all οἱ the ἄγγελοι angels μετ ̓ with αὐτοῦ, Him, τότε then καθίσει He will sit ἐπί upon [the] θρόνου throne δόξης of glory αὐτοῦ· of Him. καί And συναχθήσονται will be gathered ἔμπροσθεν before αὐτοῦ Him πάντα all τά the ἔθνη, nations, καί and ἀφορίσει He will separate αὐτούς them ἀπ ̓ from ἀλλήλων, one another, ὥσπερ as ὁ the ποιμήν shepherd ἀφορίζει separates τά the πρόβατα sheep ἀπό from τῶν the ἐρίφων, goats. καί And στήσει He will set τά - μέν indeed πρόβατα the sheep ἐκ on δεξιῶν [the] right hand αὐτοῦ, of Him, τά - δέ and ἐρίφια the goats ἐκ on εὐωνύμων. [the] left. Τότε Then ἐρεῖ will say ὁ the Βασιλεύς King τοῖς to those ἐκ on δεξιῶν [the] right hand αὐτοῦ· of Him, Δεῦτε Come, οἱ those εὐλογημένοι being blessed τοῦ of the Πατρός Father μου, of me, κληρονομήσατε inherit τήν the ἡτοιμασμένην having been prepared ὑμῖν for you βασιλείαν kingdom ἀπό from [the] καταβολῆς foundation κόσμου. of [the] world. ἐπείνασα I hungered γάρ for, καί and ἐδώκατε you gave μοι Me φαγεῖν, to eat; ἐδίψησα I thirsted, καί and ἐποτίσατε you gave to drink με, me; ξένος a stranger ἤμην I was, καί and συνηγάγετε you took in με, Me; γυμνός naked, καί and περιεβάλετε you clothed με, Me; ἠσθένησα I was sick, καί and ἐπεσκέψασθε you visited με, Me; ἐν in φυλακῇ prison ἤμην I was, καί and ἤλθατε you came πρός to με. Me. Τότε Then ἀποκριθήσονται will answer αὐτῷ Him οἱ the δίκαιοι righteous, λέγοντες· saying, Κύριε, Lord, πότε when σε You εἴδομεν saw we πεινῶντα hungering, καί and ἐθρέψαμεν, fed [You]? ἤ Or διψῶντα thirsting, καί and ἐποτίσαμεν; gave [You] to drink? πότε When δέ now σε You εἴδομεν saw we ξένον a stranger, καί and συνηγάγομεν, took [You] in? ἤ Or γυμνόν naked, καί and περιεβάλομεν; clothed [You]? πότε When δέ now σε You εἴδομεν saw we ἀσθενοῦντα ailing ἤ or ἐν in φυλακῇ prison, καί and ἤλθομεν came πρός to σε; You? Καί And ἀποκριθείς answering, ὁ the Βασιλεύς King ἐρεῖ will say αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, ἐφ ̓ to the extent ὅσον as much as ἐποιήσατε you did [it] ἑνί to one τούτων of these τῶν the ἀδελφῶν brothers μου of Me τῶν the ἐλαχίστων, least, ἐμοί to Me ἐποιήσατε. you did [it]. Τότε Then ἐρεῖ will He say καί also τοῖς to those ἐκ on εὐωνύμων· [the] left, Πορεύεσθε Depart ἀπ ̓ from ἐμοῦ Me, οἱ those κατηραμένοι being cursed, εἰς into τό the πῦρ fire τό - αἰώνιον eternal, τό - ἡτοιμασμένον having been prepared τῷ for the διαβόλῳ devil καί and τοῖς the ἀγγέλοις angels αὐτοῦ. of him. ἐπείνασα I hungered γάρ for, καί and οὐ nothing ἐδώκατε you gave μοι to Me φαγεῖν, to eat; ἐδίψησα I thirsted, καί and οὐ nothing ἐποτίσατε You gave to drink με, Me; ξένος a stranger ἤμην I was, καί and οὐ not συνηγάγετε You took in με, Me; γυμνός naked, καί and οὐ not περιεβάλετε you did clothe με, Me; ἀσθενής sick καί and ἐν in φυλακῇ prison, καί and οὐ not ἐπεσκέψασθε did you visit με. Me. Τότε Then ἀποκριθήσονται will answer καί also αὐτοί themselves, λέγοντες· saying, Κύριε, Lord, πότε when σε You εἴδομεν saw we πεινῶντα hungering, ἤ or διψῶντα thirsting, ἤ or ξένον a stranger, ἤ or γυμνόν naked, ἤ or ἀσθενῆ sick, ἤ or ἐν in φυλακῇ prison, καί and οὐ not διηκονήσαμεν did minister σοι; to You? Τότε Then ἀποκριθήσεται will He answer αὐτοῖς them, λέγων· saying, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, ἐφ ̓ to the extent ὅσον that οὐ not ἐποιήσατε you did [it] ἑνί to one τούτων of these τῶν the ἐλαχίστων, least, οὐδέ neither ἐμοί to Me ἐποιήσατε. did you. Καί And ἀπελεύσονται will go away οὗτοι these εἰς into κόλασιν punishment αἰώνιον, eternal; οἱ - δέ but δίκαιοι the righteous εἰς into ζωήν life αἰώνιον. eternal.
Καί And ἐγένετο it came to pass, ὅτε when ἐτέλεσεν had finished ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus πάντας all τούς the λόγους words τούτους, these, εἶπεν He said τοῖς to the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him, Οἴδατε You know ὅτι that μετά after δύο two ἡμέρας days τό the πάσχα Passover γίνεται, takes place, καί and ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man παραδίδοται is delivered εἰς over τό - σταυρωθῆναι. to be crucified.
Τότε Then συνήχθησαν were gathered together οἱ the ἀρχιερεῖς chief priests καί and οἱ the πρεσβύτεροι elders τοῦ of the λαοῦ people εἰς in τήν the αὐλήν courtyard τοῦ of the ἀρχιερέως high priest, τοῦ who λεγομένου is called Καϊάφα Caiaphas, καί and συνεβουλεύσαντο they plotted together, ἵνα in order that τόν - Ἰησοῦν Jesus δόλῳ by guile κρατήσωσιν they might seize καί and ἀποκτείνωσιν· kill. ἔλεγον They were saying δέ· however, Μή Not ἐν during τῇ the ἑορτῇ, feast, ἵνα that μή not θόρυβος a riot γένηται there be ἐν among τῷ the λαῷ. people.
Τοῦ - δέ And Ἰησοῦ of Jesus γενομένου having been ἐν in Βηθανίᾳ Bethany ἐν in [the] οἰκίᾳ house Σίμωνος of Simon τοῦ the λεπροῦ, leper, προσῆλθεν came αὐτῷ to Him γυνή a woman, ἔχουσα having ἀλάβαστρον an alabaster flask μύρου fragrant oil βαρυτίμου very costly, καί and κατέχεεν poured [it] ἐπί on τῆς the κεφαλῆς head αὐτοῦ of Him ἀνακειμένου. [as] He is reclining. Ἰδόντες Having seen δέ then, οἱ the μαθηταί disciples ἠγανάκτησαν became indignant, λέγοντες· saying, εἰς For what τί purpose ἡ [is] the ἀπώλεια waste αὕτη; this? ἐδύνατο Could γάρ for τοῦτο this πραθῆναι have been sold πολλοῦ for much, καί and δοθῆναι have been given πτωχοῖς. to [the] poor. Γνούς Having known [this] δέ now, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Τί Why κόπους trouble παρέχετε do you cause τῇ to the γυναικί; woman? ἔργον A work γάρ for καλόν beautiful ἠργάσατο she did εἰς to ἐμέ· Me. πάντοτε Always γάρ for τούς the πτωχούς poor ἔχετε you have μεθ ̓ with ἑαυτῶν, you; ἐμέ Me δέ however οὐ not πάντοτε always ἔχετε· you have. βαλοῦσα In pouring γάρ for αὕτη this [woman] τό the μύρον fragrant oil τοῦτο this ἐπί on τοῦ the σώματος body μου of Me, πρός for τό the ἐνταφιάσαι burial με of Me ἐποίησεν. she did [it]. ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, ὅπου wherever ἐάν if κηρυχθῇ shall be proclaimed τό the εὐαγγέλιον gospel τοῦτο this ἐν in ὅλῳ all τῷ the κόσμῳ, world, λαληθήσεται will be spoken of καί also ὅ that which ἐποίησεν did αὕτη this [woman], εἰς for μνημόσυνον a memorial αὐτῆς. of her.
