Σάρα Sarai δέ - ἡ the γυνή wife Ἀβράμ of Abram οὐ not ἔτικτεν had borne children αὐτῷ· for him. ἦν There was δέ - αὐτῇ to her παιδίσκη maid Αἰγυπτία Egyptian ᾗ whose ὄνομα name (was) Ἁγάρ. Ishmael. Ἀβράμ Abram δέ - ἦν was ὀγδοήκοντα eighty ἕξ six ἐτῶν years (old) ἡνίκα when ἔτεκεν bore Ἁγάρ Hagar τόν - Ἰσμαήλ Ishmael τῷ - Ἀβράμ. for Abram.

Ἐγένετο became δέ - Ἀβράμ Abram ἐτῶν years old ἐνενήκοντα ninety ἐννέα, nine καί and ὤφθη was seen Κύριος (the) LORD τῷ - Ἀβράμ by Abram καί and εἶπεν said αὐτῷ to him: Ἐγώ I εἰμί am ὁ - θεός God. σου· your εὐαρέστει Be pleasing ἐναντίον in presence ἐμοῦ, my καί and γίνου be ἄμεμπτος· blameless, καί and θήσομαι I will establish τήν - διαθήκην covenant μου my ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle of ἐμοῦ me καί and ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle of σοῦ, you καί and πληθυνῶ I will increase σε you σφόδρα. exceedingly. καί And ἔπεσεν fell Ἀβράμ Abram ἐπί upon πρόσωπον face, αὐτοῦ, his καί and ἐλάλησεν spoke αὐτῷ to him, ὁ - θεός God λέγων saying: Καί And ἐγώ, I, ἰδού behold, ἡ - διαθήκη covenant (is) μου my μετά with σοῦ· you, καί and ἔσῃ you will be πατήρ a father πλήθους of many ἐθνῶν. nations. καί And οὐ no κληθήσεται will be called ἔτι longer τό - ὄνομα name σου your Ἀβράμ, Abram, ἀλλ ̓ but ἔσται it will be Ἀβραάμ Abraham, τό - ὄνομα name σου· your ὅτι because πατέρα a father πολλῶν of many ἐθνῶν nations. τέθεικα I have made σε. you καί And αὐξανῶ I will increase σε you σφόδρα, exceedingly καί and θήσω I will make σε you εἰς into ἔθνη, nations, καί and βασιλεῖς kings ἐκ from σοῦ you. ἐξελεύσονται. will come καί And στήσω I will set up τήν - διαθήκην covenant μου my ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle of ἐμοῦ me καί and ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle of σοῦ you καί and ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle of τοῦ - σπέρματος offspring σου your μετά after σέ you, εἰς for γενεάς generations αὐτῶν their εἰς as διαθήκην covenant, αἰώνιον, an ongoing εἶναι to be σου your θεός God καί and τοῦ - σπέρματος offspring’s (God) σου your μετά after σέ. you. καί And δώσω I will give σοι to you καί and τῷ - σπέρματι offspring σου to your μετά after σέ you τήν the γῆν land ἥν that παροικεῖς, you inhabit, πᾶσαν all τήν the γῆν land Χανάαν, of Canaan, εἰς as κατάσχεσιν possession αἰώνιον· an ongoing καί and ἔσομαι I will be αὐτοῖς their θεός. Εἶπεν said δέ - ὁ - θεός God τῷ - Ἀβραάμ to Abraham: Σάρα Sarai ἡ - γυνή wife, σου, your οὐ not κληθήσεται will be called τό - ὄνομα name αὐτῆς her Σάρα, Sarai, ἀλλά but Σάρρα Sarah. ἔσται will be τό - ὄνομα name αὐτῆς· her
