Τότε Then παραδώσουσιν will they deliver ὑμᾶς you εἰς to θλῖψιν tribulation, καί and ἀποκτενοῦσιν will kill ὑμᾶς, you, καί and ἔσεσθε you will be μισούμενοι hated ὑπό by πάντων all τῶν the ἐθνῶν nations διά on account of τό the ὄνομα name μου. of Me. καί And τότε then σκανδαλισθήσονται will fall away πολλοί many, καί and ἀλλήλους one another παραδώσουσιν they will betray, καί and μισήσουσιν will hate ἀλλήλους· one another; καί and πολλοί many ψευδοπροφῆται false prophets ἐγερθήσονται will arise καί and πλανήσουσιν will mislead πολλούς· many. Καί And διά because τό - πληθυνθῆναι is to be multiplied τήν - ἀνομίαν lawlessness, ψυγήσεται will grow cold ἡ the ἀγάπη love τῶν of the πολλῶν. many. ὁ The [one] δέ however ὑπομείνας having endured εἰς to [the] τέλος end, οὗτος he σωθήσεται. will be saved. Καί And κηρυχθήσεται there will be proclaimed τοῦτο this τό - εὐαγγέλιον gospel τῆς of the βασιλείας kingdom ἐν in ὅλῃ all τῇ the οἰκουμένῃ earth, εἰς for μαρτύριον a testimony πᾶσιν to all τοῖς the ἔθνεσιν, nations; καί and τότε then ἥξει will come τό the τέλος. end.

Ὅταν When οὖν therefore ἴδητε you shall see Τό the βδέλυγμα abomination τῆς - ἐρημώσεως of desolation,’ τό - ῥηθέν having been spoken of διά by Δανιήλ Daniel τοῦ the προφήτου prophet, ἑστός standing ἐν in [the] τόπῳ place ἁγίῳ, holy — ὁ the [one] ἀναγινώσκων reading νοείτω, let him understand — τότε then οἱ those ἐν in τῇ - Ἰουδαίᾳ Judea, φευγέτωσαν let them flee εἰς to τά the ὄρη, mountains; ὁ the [one] ἐπί on τοῦ the δώματος housetop, μή not καταβάτω let him come down ἆραι to take τά anything ἐκ out of τῆς the οἰκίας house αὐτοῦ, of him; καί and ὁ the [one] ἐν in τῷ the ἀγρῷ field, μή neither ἐπιστρεψάτω let him return ὀπίσω back ἆραι to take τό the ἱμάτιον cloak αὐτοῦ. of him. Οὐαί Woe δέ then ταῖς to those ἐν in γαστρί womb ἐχούσαις having, καί and ταῖς to the [ones] θηλαζούσαις nursing infants ἐν in ἐκείναις those ταῖς the ἡμέραις. days.

προσεύχεσθε Pray δέ however ἵνα that μή not γένηται might be ἡ the φυγή flight ὑμῶν of you χειμῶνος in winter, μηδέ nor σαββάτῳ. on a Sabbath. ἔσται There will be γάρ for τότε then θλῖψις tribulation μεγάλη great, οἵα such as οὐ not γέγονεν has been ἀπ ̓ from [the] ἀρχῆς beginning κόσμου of [the] world ἕως until τοῦ - νῦν now, οὐδ ̓ no οὐ never μή not γένηται. shall be. καί And εἰ if μή not ἐκολοβώθησαν had been shortened αἱ the ἡμέραι days ἐκεῖναι, those, οὐ not ἄν - ἐσώθη there would have been saved πᾶσα any σάρξ· flesh; διά because of δέ however τούς the ἐκλεκτούς elect, κολοβωθήσονται will be shortened αἱ the ἡμέραι days ἐκεῖναι. those.

Ἐάν If οὖν therefore εἴπωσιν they say ὑμῖν· to you, Ἰδού Behold, ἐν in τῇ the ἐρήμῳ wilderness ἐστίν, He is, μή not ἐξέλθητε· go forth; Ἰδού [or] ‘Behold, ἐν in τοῖς the ταμείοις, inner rooms, μή not πιστεύσητε· believe [it]. ὥσπερ Just as γάρ for ἡ the ἀστραπή lightning ἐξέρχεται comes forth ἀπό from [the] ἀνατολῶν east καί and φαίνεται shines ἕως as far as [the] δυσμῶν, west, οὕτως so ἔσται will be ἡ the παρουσία coming τοῦ of the Υἱοῦ Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου· of Man. ὅπου For wherever ἐάν if ᾖ may be τό the πτῶμα, carcass, ἐκεῖ there συναχθήσονται will be gathered οἱ the ἀετοί. vultures.

Εὐθέως Immediately δέ then μετά after τήν the θλῖψιν tribulation τῶν the ἡμερῶν days ἐκείνων of those: ὁ The ἥλιος sun σκοτισθήσεται, will be darkened, Καί and ἡ the σελήνη moon οὐ not δώσει will give τό the φέγγος light αὐτῆς, of it, Καί and οἱ the ἀστέρες stars πεσοῦνται will fall ἀπό from τοῦ the οὐρανοῦ, sky, Καί and αἱ the δυνάμεις powers τῶν of the οὐρανῶν heavens σαλευθήσονται. will be shaken.’

Καί And τότε then φανήσεται will appear τό the σημεῖον sign τοῦ of the Υἱοῦ Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man ἐν in οὐρανῷ, heaven, καί and τότε then κόψονται will mourn πᾶσαι all αἱ the φυλαί tribes τῆς of the γῆς earth, καί and ὄψονται they will see τόν the Υἱόν Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man ἐρχόμενον coming ἐπί on τῶν the νεφελῶν clouds τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ of heaven μετά with δυνάμεως power καί and δόξης glory πολλῆς· great. καί And ἀποστελεῖ He will send τούς the ἀγγέλους angels αὐτοῦ of Him μετά with σάλπιγγος a trumpet call μεγάλης, great, καί and ἐπισυνάξουσιν they will gather together τούς the ἐκλεκτούς elect αὐτοῦ of Him, ἐκ from τῶν the τεσσάρων four ἀνέμων winds, ἀπ ̓ from ἄκρων [the] ends οὐρανῶν of the heavens ἕως to τῶν the ἄκρων ends αὐτῶν. of them. Περί Concerning δέ however τῆς the ἡμέρας day ἐκείνης that καί and ὥρας hour, οὐδείς no one οἶδεν, knows, οὐδέ not even οἱ the ἄγγελοι angels τῶν of the οὐρανῶν heavens, οὐδέ nor ὁ the Υἱός, Son, εἰ if μή not ὁ the Πατήρ Father μόνος. only.

ὥσπερ As [were] γάρ for αἱ the ἡμέραι days τοῦ - Νῶε, of Noah, οὕτως so ἔσται will be ἡ the παρουσία coming τοῦ of the Υἱοῦ Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου. of Man. ὡς As γάρ for ἦσαν they were ἐν in ταῖς the ἡμέραις days ἐκείναις those ταῖς - πρό before τοῦ the κατακλυσμοῦ flood, τρώγοντες eating καί and πίνοντες, drinking, γαμοῦντες marrying καί and γαμίζοντες, giving in marriage, ἄχρι until ἧς that ἡμέρας day εἰσῆλθεν entered Νῶε Noah εἰς into τήν the κιβωτόν, ark. καί And οὐ not ἔγνωσαν they knew, ἕως until ἦλθεν came ὁ the κατακλυσμός flood καί and ἦρεν took away ἅπαντας, all; οὕτως thus ἔσται will be καί also ἡ the παρουσία coming τοῦ of the Υἱοῦ Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου. of Man. τότε Then δύο two ἔσονται will be ἐν in τῷ the ἀγρῷ, field: εἷς one παραλαμβάνεται is taken, καί and εἷς one ἀφίεται· is left. δύο Two [women] ἀλήθουσαι will be grinding ἐν at τῷ the μύλῳ, mill: μία one παραλαμβάνεται is taken, καί and μία one ἀφίεται. is left. Γρηγορεῖτε Keep watch οὖν, therefore, ὅτι for οὐ not οἴδατε you know ποίᾳ on what ἡμέρᾳ day ὁ the κύριος Lord ὑμῶν of you ἔρχεται. comes. ἐκεῖνο This δέ then γινώσκετε know, ὅτι that εἰ if ᾔδει had known ὁ the οἰκοδεσπότης master of the house ποίᾳ in what φυλακῇ time of night ὁ the κλέπτης thief ἔρχεται, comes, ἐγρηγόρησεν he would have watched ἄν - καί and οὐ not ἄν - εἴασεν have allowed διορυχθῆναι to be broken into τήν the οἰκίαν house αὐτοῦ. of him. διά Because of τοῦτο this καί also, ὑμεῖς you γίνεσθε be ἕτοιμοι, ready, ὅτι for ᾗ in that οὐ not δοκεῖτε you expect ὥρᾳ hour, ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man ἔρχεται. comes.

Τίς Who ἄρα then ἐστίν is ὁ the πιστός faithful δοῦλος servant, καί and φρόνιμος wise, ὅν whom κατέστησεν has set ὁ the κύριος master ἐπί over τῆς the οἰκετείας household αὐτοῦ of him, τοῦ - δοῦναι to give αὐτοῖς to them τήν the τροφήν food ἐν in καιρῷ; season? μακάριος Blessed [is] ὁ the δοῦλος servant ἐκεῖνος that, ὅν whom ἐλθών having come, ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ of him εὑρήσει will find οὕτως thus ποιοῦντα· doing. ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ἐπί over πᾶσιν all τοῖς the ὑπάρχουσιν possessing αὐτοῦ of him καταστήσει he will set αὐτόν. him. Ἐάν If δέ however εἴπῃ should say ὁ the κακός evil δοῦλος servant ἐκεῖνος that ἐν in τῇ the καρδίᾳ heart αὐτοῦ· of him, Χρονίζει Delays μου of Me ὁ the κύριος, master, καί and ἄρξηται should begin τύπτειν to beat τούς the συνδούλους fellow servants αὐτοῦ, of him, ἐσθίῃ to eat δέ then καί and πίνῃ to drink μετά with τῶν those μεθυόντων, being drunkards, ἥξει will come ὁ the κύριος master τοῦ the δούλου servant ἐκείνου of that ἐν in ἡμέρᾳ a day ᾗ in which οὐ not προσδοκᾷ he does expect, καί and ἐν in ὥρᾳ an hour ᾗ which οὐ not γινώσκει, he is aware, καί and διχοτομήσει will cut in pieces αὐτόν him, καί and τό the μέρος place αὐτοῦ of him μετά with τῶν the ὑποκριτῶν hypocrites θήσει· will appoint; ἐκεῖ there ἔσται will be ὁ the κλαυθμός weeping καί and ὁ the βρυγμός gnashing τῶν of ὀδόντων. teeth.

Τότε Then ὁμοιωθήσεται will be likened ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν heavens δέκα to ten παρθένοις, virgins, αἵτινες who λαβοῦσαι having taken τάς the λαμπάδας lamps ἑαυτῶν of them, ἐξῆλθον went forth εἰς to ὑπάντησιν meet τοῦ the νυμφίου. bridegroom. πέντε Five δέ now ἐκ of αὐτῶν them ἦσαν were μωραί foolish, καί and πέντε five φρόνιμοι. wise. αἱ The γάρ for μωραί foolish, λαβοῦσαι having taken τάς the λαμπάδας lamps αὐτῶν of them, οὐ not ἔλαβον did take μεθ ̓ with ἑαυτῶν them ἔλαιον. oil; αἱ - δέ but φρόνιμοι the wise ἔλαβον took ἔλαιον oil ἐν in τοῖς the ἀγγείοις vessels, μετά with τῶν the λαμπάδων lamps ἑαυτῶν. of them. χρονίζοντος Tarrying δέ then τοῦ the νυμφίου bridegroom, ἐνύσταξαν they became drowsy πᾶσαι all καί and ἐκάθευδον. were sleeping. Μέσης At middle δέ then νυκτός of [the] night, κραυγή a cry γέγονεν· there was: Ἰδού Behold, ὁ the νυμφίος, bridegroom! ἐξέρχεσθε Go forth εἰς to ἀπάντησιν meet αὐτοῦ. him! Τότε Then ἠγέρθησαν arose πᾶσαι all αἱ the παρθένοι virgins ἐκεῖναι those καί and ἐκόσμησαν trimmed τάς the λαμπάδας lamps ἑαυτῶν. of them. αἱ - δέ And μωραί the foolish ταῖς to the φρονίμοις wise εἶπαν· said, Δότε Give ἡμῖν us ἐκ of τοῦ the ἐλαίου oil ὑμῶν, of you, ὅτι for αἱ the λαμπάδες lamps ἡμῶν of us σβέννυνται. are going out. Ἀπεκρίθησαν Answered δέ then αἱ the φρόνιμοι wise, λέγουσαι· saying, Μήποτε Lest οὐ no μή not even ἀρκέσῃ it might suffice ἡμῖν for us καί and ὑμῖν· you. πορεύεσθε Go μᾶλλον rather πρός to τούς those πωλοῦντας selling, καί and ἀγοράσατε buy ἑαυταῖς. for yourselves. Ἀπερχομένων [While] are going away δέ then αὐτῶν they ἀγοράσαι to buy, ἦλθεν came ὁ the νυμφίος, bridegroom, καί and αἱ those ἕτοιμοι ready εἰσῆλθον went in μετ ̓ with αὐτοῦ him εἰς to τούς the γάμους wedding feast; καί and ἐκλείσθη was shut ἡ the θύρα. door. Ὕστερον Afterward δέ then ἔρχονται come καί also αἱ the λοιπαί other παρθένοι virgins, λέγουσαι· saying, Κύριε Lord, κύριε, Lord, ἄνοιξον open ἡμῖν. to us! ὁ - δέ And ἀποκριθείς answering εἶπεν· he said, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, οὐ not οἶδα I do know ὑμᾶς. you. Γρηγορεῖτε Watch οὖν, therefore, ὅτι for οὐ neither οἴδατε do you know τήν the ἡμέραν day, οὐδέ nor τήν the ὥραν. hour. Ὥσπερ [It is] like γάρ for ἄνθρωπος a man ἀποδημῶν going on a journey ἐκάλεσεν [who] called τούς the ἰδίους own δούλους servants, καί and παρέδωκεν delivered αὐτοῖς to them τά the ὑπάρχοντα possessing αὐτοῦ, of him. καί And ᾧ to one μέν indeed ἔδωκεν he gave πέντε five τάλαντα, talents, ᾧ to one δέ then δύο, two, ᾧ to one δέ then ἕν, one, ἑκάστῳ to each κατά according to τήν the ἰδίαν own δύναμιν, ability; καί and ἀπεδήμησεν. he left the region Εὐθέως immediately. Μετά After δέ then πολύν much χρόνον time, ἔρχεται comes ὁ the κύριος master τῶν of the δούλων servants ἐκείνων those καί and συναίρει takes λόγον account μετ ̓ with αὐτῶν. them. καί And προσελθών having come, ὁ the [one] τά the πέντε five τάλαντα talents λαβών having received προσήνεγκεν brought to [him] ἄλλα other πέντε five τάλαντα talents, λέγων· saying, Κύριε, Master, πέντε five τάλαντα talents μοι to me παρέδωκας· you did deliver. ἴδε Behold, ἄλλα more πέντε five τάλαντα talents ἐκέρδησα. have I gained. Ἔφη Said αὐτῷ to him ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ· of Him, Εὖ, Well done, δοῦλε servant ἀγαθέ good καί and πιστέ, faithful! ἐπί Over ὀλίγα a few things ἦς you were πιστός, faithful; ἐπί over πολλῶν many things σε you καταστήσω· will I set. εἴσελθε Enter εἰς into τήν the χαράν joy τοῦ of the κυρίου master σου. of you! Προσελθών Having come δέ then καί also ὁ the [one] τά with the δύο two τάλαντα talents, εἶπεν· he said, Κύριε, Master, δύο two τάλαντα talents μοι to me παρέδωκας· you did deliver. ἴδε Behold, ἄλλα more δύο two τάλαντα talents ἐκέρδησα. have I gained. Ἔφη Said αὐτῷ to him ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ· of Him, Εὖ, Well done, δοῦλε servant ἀγαθέ good καί and πιστέ, faithful! ἐπί Over ὀλίγα a few things ἦς you were πιστός, faithful; ἐπί over πολλῶν many things σε you καταστήσω· will I set. εἴσελθε Enter εἰς into τήν the χαράν joy τοῦ of the κυρίου master σου. of you!
