Καί - εἶπεν spoke Κύριος (The) LORD ὁ - θεός God τῷ - Νῶε to Noah, λέγων saying: Ἔξελθε Go out ἐκ from τῆς the κιβωτοῦ, ark, σύ you καί and ἡ - γυνή wife σου your καί and οἱ - υἱοί sons σου your καί and αἱ - γυναῖκες wives τῶν - υἱῶν sons’ σου your μετά with σοῦ, you, καί and πάντα all τά the θηρία wild animals, ὅσα as many as ἐστίν are μετά with σοῦ, you, καί and πᾶσα all σάρξ flesh ἀπό from πετεινῶν birds ἕως to κτηνῶν, cattle, καί and πᾶν every ἑρπετόν reptile κινούμενον moving ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς land ἐξάγαγε bring out μετά with σοῦ· you καί and αὐξάνεσθε increase καί and πληθύνεσθε multiply ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς. earth. καί So ἐξῆλθεν came out Νῶε Noah καί and ἡ - γυνή wife αὐτοῦ his καί and οἱ - υἱοί sons αὐτοῦ his καί and αἱ - γυναῖκες wives τῶν - υἱῶν sons’ αὐτοῦ his μετ ̓ with αὐτοῦ· him, καί and πάντα all τά the θηρία wild animals καί and πάντα all τά the κτήνη cattle καί and πᾶν every πετεινόν winged thing καί and πᾶν every ἑρπετόν reptile κινούμενον moving ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth; κατά according to γένος kind. αὐτῶν their ἐξήλθοσαν they came out ἐκ of τῆς the κιβωτοῦ. ark

Καί - ᾠκοδόμησεν built Νῶε Noah θυσιαστήριον an altar τῷ - θεῷ, to God καί and ἔλαβεν he took ἀπό from πάντων all τῶν - κτηνῶν cattle τῶν the καθαρῶν clean καί and ἀπό from πάντων all τῶν - πετεινῶν birds, τῶν the καθαρῶν, clean καί and ἀνήνεγκεν he offered ὁλοκάρπωσιν a whole burnt offering ἐπί on τό the θυσιαστήριον. altar. καί And ὠσφράνθη smelled Κύριος (the) LORD ὁ - θεός God ὀσμήν smell, εὐωδίας, a sweet καί and εἶπεν spoke: Κύριος (the) LORD ὁ - θεός God, διανοηθείς having pondered, οὐ not προσθήσω I will repeat ἔτι (any) longer τοῦ - καταράσασθαι to curse τήν the γῆν earth διά because of τά the ἔργα deeds τῶν - ἀνθρώπων, of humans, ὅτι because ἔγκειται is inclined ἡ the διάνοια intention τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of humankind ἐπιμελῶς attentatively ἐπί on τά the πονηρά evil things ἐκ from νεότητος· youth. οὐ no προσθήσω I will repeat οὖν Therefore, ἔτι longer πατάξαι smiting πᾶσαν all σάρκα flesh ζῶσαν living καθώς as ἐποίησα. I have done. πάσας All τάς the ἡμέρας days τῆς of the γῆς earth, σπέρμα seed time καί and θερισμός, harvest, ψῦχος cold καί and καῦμα, heat, θέρος summer καί and ἔαρ spring, ἡμέραν day καί and νύκτα night οὐ not καταπαύσουσιν. will cease.

Καί And ηὐλόγησεν blessed ὁ - θεός God τόν - Νῶε Noah καί and τούς - υἱούς sons αὐτοῦ, his καί and εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς to them: Αὐξάνεσθε Increase καί and πληθύνεσθε, multiply καί and πληρώσατε fill τήν the γῆν earth καί and κατακυριεύσατε exercise dominion over αὐτῆς. it. καί And ὁ the τρόμος trembling ὑμῶν of you καί and ὁ the φόβος fear ἔσται will be ἐπί on πᾶσιν all τοῖς the θηρίοις wild animals τῆς of the γῆς earth καί and ἐπί on πάντα all τά the ὄρνεα birds τοῦ of the οὐρανοῦ sky καί and ἐπί on πάντα all τά the κινούμενα moving things ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth καί and πάντας all τούς the ἰχθύας fish τῆς of the θαλάσσης· sea. ὑπό under χεῖρας control. ὑμῖν your δέδωκα. I have put (them) καί And πᾶν every ἑρπετόν moving thing ὅ that ἐστίν is ζῶν living ὑμῖν yours ἔσται will be εἰς for βρῶσιν· food; ὡς like λάχανα garden-herbs χόρτου of the grass, ἔδωκα I give ὑμῖν you τά - πάντα. all things. πλήν But κρέας meat ἐν with αἵματι (the) blood ψυχῆς of life. οὐ not φάγεσθε· you will eat καί indeed γάρ For τό - ὑμέτερον your αἷμα blood τῶν - ψυχῶν lives ὑμῶν of your ἐκζητήσω· I will seek out: ἐκ from χειρός the hand πάντων of all τῶν the θηρίων wild animals ἐκζητήσω I will seek αὐτό, it, καί and ἐκ from χειρός (the) hand ἀνθρώπου human ἀδελφοῦ of a fellow ἐκζητήσω I will seek τήν the ψυχήν life τοῦ of the ἀνθρώπου. human. ὁ The ἐκχέων one who pours out αἷμα (the) blood ἀνθρώπου of a human, ἀντί in the place of τοῦ - αἵματος blood αὐτοῦ his ἐκχυθήσεται, it shall be shed, ὅτι because ἐν in εἰκόνι image θεοῦ of God ἐποίησα I made τόν - ἄνθρωπον. humankind. ὑμεῖς you δέ But, αὐξάνεσθε increase καί and πληθύνεσθε, multiply καί and πληρώσατε fill τήν the γῆν earth καί and πληθύνεσθε multiply ἐπί upon τῆς the γῆς. earth.

Καί And εἶπεν spoke ὁ - θεός God τῷ - Νῶε to Noah καί and τοῖς - υἱοῖς sons αὐτοῦ his μετ ̓ with αὐτοῦ him, λέγων saying: Ἐγώ I ἰδού Behold, ἀνίστημι am establishing τήν - διαθήκην covenant μου my ὑμῖν with you καί and τῷ - σπέρματι seed ὑμῶν your μεθ ̓ after ὑμᾶς, you, καί and πάσῃ for every ψυχῇ soul ζώσῃ living μεθ ̓ with ὑμῶν, you, ἀπό from ὀρνέων birds καί and ἀπό from κτηνῶν, cattle, καί and πᾶσι for all τοῖς the θηρίοις wild animals τῆς of the γῆς earth, ὅσα as many as are μεθ ̓ with ὑμῶν you ἀπό from πάντων all τῶν those ἐξελθόντων who came out ἐκ from τῆς the κιβωτοῦ. ark. καί And στήσω I will establish τήν - διαθήκην covenant μου my πρός with ὑμᾶς, you καί and οὐ no ἀποθανεῖται will die πᾶσα all σάρξ flesh ἔτι longer ἀπό from τοῦ the ὕδατος water τοῦ of the κατακλυσμοῦ, flood καί and οὐ no ἔσται will there be ἔτι longer κατακλυσμός a flood ὕδατος of water τοῦ - καταφθεῖραι for destroying πᾶσαν all τήν the γῆν. earth. καί And εἶπεν said Κύριος the LORD ὁ - θεός God πρός to Νῶε Noah: Τοῦτο This (is) τό the σημεῖον sign τῆς of the διαθήκης covenant ὅ which ἐγώ I δίδωμι am giving ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle ἐμοῦ me καί and ὑμῶν you καί and ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle πάσης every ψυχῆς soul ζώσης living ἥ which ἐστίν is μεθ ̓ with ὑμῶν you εἰς for γενεάς generations, αἰωνίους· lasting τό - τόξον raindow μου my τίθημι I am placing ἐν in τῇ the νεφέλῃ, cloud καί and ἔσται it will be εἰς for σημεῖον a sign διαθήκης of the covenant ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle ἐμοῦ me καί and τῆς the γῆς. earth. καί And ἔσται it will be ἐν at the time when τῷ - συννεφεῖν collect με I νεφέλας clouds ἐπί on τήν the γῆν earth, ὀφθήσεται will be seen τό - τόξον rainbow μου my ἐν in τῇ the νεφέλῃ, cloud, καί and μνησθήσομαι I will remember τῆς - διαθήκης covenant μου, my ἥ which ἐστίν is ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle ἐμοῦ of me καί and ὑμῶν of you καί and ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle πάσης of every ψυχῆς soul ζώσης living ἐν in πάσῃ all σαρκί· flesh καί and οὐ no ἔσται will be ἔτι longer τό the ὕδωρ water εἰς for κατακλυσμόν, a flood, ὥστε so as ἐξαλεῖψαι to wipe out πᾶσαν all σάρκα. flesh. καί And ἔσται will be τό - τόξον rainbow μου my ἐν in τῇ the νεφέλῃ, cloud καί and ὄψομαι I will see (it) τοῦ - μνησθῆναι in order to remember διαθήκην covenant αἰώνιον a lasting ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle ἐμοῦ of me καί and ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle πάσης of every ψυχῆς soul ζώσης living ἐν among πάσῃ all σαρκί flesh ἥ that ἐστίν is ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς. earth. καί And εἶπεν said ὁ - θεός God τῷ to Νῶε to Noah: Τοῦτο This (is) τό the σημεῖον sign τῆς of the διαθήκης covenant ἧς which διεθέμην I arranged ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle ἐμοῦ of me καί and ἀνά a going up μέσον the middle πάσης of all σαρκός flesh ἥ that ἐστίν is ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς. earth.

Ἦσαν were δέ Now οἱ the υἱοί sons Νῶε of Noah οἱ who were ἐξελθόντες going out ἐκ from τῆς the κιβωτοῦ ark Σήμ, Shem, Χάμ, Ham, Ἰάφεθ· Japheth: Χάμ Ham ἦν was πατήρ father Χανάαν. of Canaan. τρεῖς three οὗτοι These εἰσίν are οἱ the υἱοί sons Νῶε· of Noah. ἀπό From τούτων these διεσπάρησαν they were scattered about ἐπί on πᾶσαν all τήν the γῆν. earth.

Καί And ἤρξατο was the first Νῶε Noah ἄνθρωπος - γεωργός tiller γῆς, of soil καί and ἐφύτευσεν he planted ἀμπελῶνα. a vineyard. καί And ἔπιεν he drank ἐκ from τοῦ the οἴνου wine καί and ἐμεθύσθη, was drunk καί and ἐγυμνώθη was stripped naked ἐν in τῷ - οἴκῳ house. αὐτοῦ. his καί And εἶδεν saw Χάμ Ham ὁ the πατήρ father Χανάαν of Canaan τήν the γύμνωσιν nakedness τοῦ - πατρός father αὐτοῦ, of his καί and ἐξελθών after he had gone out ἀνήγγειλεν he told τοῖς - δυσίν two ἀδελφοῖς brothers αὐτοῦ his ἔξω. outside. καί And λαβόντες having taken Σήμ Shem καί and Ἰάφεθ Japheth, τό the ἱμάτιον garment, ἐπέθηκαν lay (it) ἐπί on τά - δύο two νῶτα backs αὐτῶν, their καί and ἐπορεύθησαν walked ὀπισθοφανῶς backwards καί and συνεκάλυψαν covered τήν the γύμνωσιν nakedness τοῦ - πατρός father αὐτῶν· of their καί and τό - πρόσωπον face αὐτῶν their ὀπισθοφανές, (was) looking backward καί and τήν the γύμνωσιν nakedness τοῦ - πατρός father. αὐτῶν of their οὐ not ἴδον. they had seen ἐξένηψεν became sober δέ And Νῶε Noah ἀπό from τοῦ the οἴνου, wine καί and ἔγνω learned ὅσα all that ἐποίησεν had done αὐτῷ to him, ὁ - υἱός son αὐτοῦ his ὁ - νεώτερος. younger καί and εἶπεν he said:

Ἐπικατάρατος Accursed (be) Χανάαν· Canaan.

παῖς servant οἰκέτης A household ἔσται he will be τοῖς - ἀδελφοῖς brothers. αὐτοῦ. to his

καί And εἶπεν he said:

Εὐλογητός Blessed (be) Κύριος (the) LORD ὁ the θεός God τοῦ - Σήμ, of Shem

καί and ἔσται will be Χανάαν Canaan παῖς servant. αὐτοῦ. his

πλατύναι May make room ὁ - θεός God τῷ - Ἰάφεθ, for Japheth.

καί - κατοικησάτω Let him dwell ἐν in τοῖς the οἴκοις houses τοῦ - Σήμ· Shem

καί and γενηθήτω let become Χανάαν Canaan παῖς servant. αὐτῶν. their

Ἔζησεν lived δέ - Νῶε Noah μετά after τόν the κατακλυσμόν flood τριακόσια for three hundred πεντήκοντα fifty ἔτη. years. καί And ἐγένοντο were πᾶσαι all αἱ the ἡμέραι days Νῶε of Noah ἐννακόσια nine hundred πεντήκοντα fifty ἔτη, years, καί and ἀπέθανεν. he died.

Αὗται These δέ now αἱ (are) the γενέσεις generations τῶν of the υἱῶν sons Νῶε, of Noah: Σήμ, Shem, Χάμ, Ham, Ἰάφεθ· Japheth; καί and ἐγενήθησαν were born αὐτοῖς to them υἱοί sons μετά after τόν the κατακλυσμόν. flood.
