Μετά After τοῦτο these things εἶδον I saw τέσσαρας four ἀγγέλους angels ἑστῶτας standing ἐπί upon τάς the τέσσαρας four γωνίας corners τῆς of the γῆς, earth, κρατοῦντας holding τούς the τέσσαρας four ἀνέμους winds τῆς of the γῆς earth, ἵνα so that μή no πνέῃ would blow ἄνεμος wind ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth, μήτε nor ἐπί on τῆς the θαλάσσης sea, μήτε nor ἐπί on πᾶν any δένδρον. tree. καί And εἶδον I saw ἄλλον another ἄγγελον angel, ἀναβαίνοντα having ascended ἀπό from ἀνατολῆς [the] rising ἡλίου of [the] sun, ἔχοντα having σφραγῖδα [the] seal Θεοῦ of God ζῶντος, [the] living. καί And ἔκραξεν he cried φωνῇ in a voice μεγάλῃ loud τοῖς to the τέσσαρσιν four ἀγγέλοις angels οἷς to whom ἐδόθη it had been given αὐτοῖς to them ἀδικῆσαι to harm τήν the γῆν earth καί and τήν the θάλασσαν sea, λέγων· saying, Μή Not ἀδικήσητε harm τήν the γῆν earth, μήτε nor τήν the θάλασσαν sea, μήτε nor τά the δένδρα, trees, ἄχρι until σφραγίσωμεν we shall have sealed τούς the δούλους servants τοῦ of the Θεοῦ God ἡμῶν of us, ἐπί on τῶν the μετώπων foreheads αὐτῶν. of them.

Καί And ἤκουσα I heard τόν the ἀριθμόν number τῶν of those ἐσφραγισμένων, having been sealed, ἑκατόν one hundred τεσσεράκοντα forty τέσσαρες four χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐσφραγισμένοι having been sealed ἐκ out of πάσης every φυλῆς tribe υἱῶν of [the] sons Ἰσραήλ· of Israel:

ἐκ Out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Ἰούδα of Judah δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες thousand ἐσφραγισμένοι, having been sealed, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Ῥουβήν of Reuben δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Γάδ of Gad δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Ἀσήρ of Asher δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Νεφθαλίμ of Naphtali δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Μανασσῆ of Manasseh δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Συμεών of Simeon δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Λευί of Levi δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Ἰσσαχάρ of Isaachar δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Ζαβουλών of Zebulun δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Ἰωσήφ of Joseph δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες, thousand, ἐκ out of φυλῆς [the] tribe Βενιαμίν of Benjamin δώδεκα twelve χιλιάδες thousand ἐσφραγισμένοι. having been sealed.

Μετά After ταῦτα these things εἶδον, I looked, καί and ἰδού behold, ὄχλος a multitude πολύς, great, ὅν which ἀριθμῆσαι to number αὐτόν it οὐδείς no one ἐδύνατο, was able, ἐκ out of παντός every ἔθνους nation, καί and φυλῶν tribes, καί and λαῶν peoples, καί and γλωσσῶν tongues, ἑστῶτες standing ἐνώπιον before τοῦ the θρόνου throne καί and ἐνώπιον before τοῦ the Ἀρνίου Lamb, περιβεβλημένους having been clothed with στολάς robes λευκάς white, καί and φοίνικες palm branches ἐν in ταῖς the χερσίν hands αὐτῶν, of them. καί And κράζουσιν they were crying out φωνῇ in a voice μεγάλῃ loud, λέγοντες· saying: ἡ - σωτηρία Salvation τῷ to the Θεῷ God ἡμῶν of us, τῷ the [One] καθημένῳ sitting ἐπί on τῷ the θρόνῳ throne, καί and τῷ to the Ἀρνίῳ. Lamb! Καί And πάντες all οἱ the ἄγγελοι angels εἱστήκεισαν stood κύκλῳ around τοῦ the θρόνου throne, καί and τῶν the πρεσβυτέρων elders, καί and τῶν the τεσσάρων four ζῴων living creatures, καί and ἔπεσαν they fell ἐνώπιον before τοῦ the θρόνου throne ἐπί upon τά the πρόσωπα faces αὐτῶν of them, καί and προσεκύνησαν worshiped τῷ - Θεῷ God, λέγοντες· saying, Ἀμήν, Amen! ἡ - εὐλογία Blessing, καί and ἡ - δόξα glory, καί and ἡ - σοφία wisdom, καί and ἡ - εὐχαριστία thanksgiving, καί and ἡ - τιμή honor, καί and ἡ - δύναμις power, καί and ἡ - ἰσχύς strength, τῷ to the Θεῷ God ἡμῶν of us, εἰς to τούς the αἰῶνας ages τῶν of the αἰώνων· ages! ἀμήν. Καί And ἀπεκρίθη answered εἷς one ἐκ of τῶν the πρεσβυτέρων elders, λέγων saying μοι· to me, Οὗτοι These οἱ - περιβεβλημένοι having been clothed with τάς the στολάς robes τάς - λευκάς white, τίνες who εἰσίν are they, καί and πόθεν from where ἦλθον; have they come? Καί And εἴρηκα I said αὐτῷ· to him, Κύριε Lord μου, of me, σύ you οἶδας. know. Lamb. διά Because of τοῦτο this, εἰσίν They are ἐνώπιον before τοῦ the θρόνου throne τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God, καί and λατρεύουσιν serve αὐτῷ Him ἡμέρας day καί and νυκτός night ἐν in τῷ the ναῷ temple αὐτοῦ, of Him; καί and ὁ the [One] καθήμενος sitting ἐπί on τοῦ the θρόνου throne σκηνώσει will tabernacle ἐπ ̓ over αὐτούς. them. οὐ Not πεινάσουσιν they will hunger ἔτι any more, οὐδέ neither διψήσουσιν will they thirst ἔτι anymore, οὐδέ nor μή at all πέσῃ shall fall ἐπ ̓ upon αὐτούς them ὁ the ἥλιος sun, οὐδέ nor πᾶν any καῦμα, scorching heat; ὅτι because τό the Ἀρνίον Lamb τό - ἀνά in the μέσον center τοῦ of the θρόνου throne ποιμανεῖ will shepherd αὐτούς them, καί and ὁδηγήσει He will lead αὐτούς them ἐπί to ζωῆς living πηγάς fountains ὑδάτων, of waters, καί and ἐξαλείψει will wipe away ὁ - Θεός God πᾶν every δάκρυον tear ἐκ from τῶν the ὀφθαλμῶν eyes αὐτῶν. of them.’

Καί And ἄλλος another ἄγγελος angel ἦλθεν came καί and ἐστάθη stood ἐπί at τοῦ the θυσιαστηρίου altar, ἔχων having λιβανωτόν a censer χρυσοῦν, golden; καί and ἐδόθη was given αὐτῷ to him θυμιάματα incense πολλά, much, ἵνα that δώσει he will offer [it] ταῖς with the προσευχαῖς prayers τῶν of the ἁγίων saints πάντων all ἐπί upon τό the θυσιαστήριον altar τό - χρυσοῦν golden τό - ἐνώπιον before τοῦ the θρόνου. throne. καί And ἀνέβη went up ὁ the καπνός smoke τῶν of the θυμιαμάτων incense ταῖς with the προσευχαῖς prayers τῶν of the ἁγίων saints ἐκ out of χειρός [the] hand τοῦ of the ἀγγέλου angel, ἐνώπιον before τοῦ - Θεοῦ. Καί And εἴληφεν took ὁ the ἄγγελος angel τόν the λιβανωτόν censer, καί and ἐγέμισεν filled αὐτόν it ἐκ from τοῦ the πυρός fire τοῦ of the θυσιαστηρίου altar, καί and ἔβαλεν cast [it] εἰς to τήν the γῆν, earth; καί and ἐγένοντο there were βρονταί thunders, καί and φωναί rumblings, καί and ἀστραπαί flashes of lightning, καί and σεισμός. an earthquake.

Καί And οἱ the ἑπτά seven ἄγγελοι angels οἱ - ἔχοντες having τάς the ἑπτά seven σάλπιγγας trumpets ἡτοίμασαν prepared αὑτούς themselves ἵνα that σαλπίσωσιν. they might sound the trumpets.

Καί And ὁ the πρῶτος first ἐσάλπισεν· sounded [his] trumpet, καί and ἐγένετο there was χάλαζα hail, καί and πῦρ fire μεμιγμένα having been mixed ἐν with αἵματι blood, καί and ἐβλήθη it was cast εἰς upon τήν the γῆν, earth. καί And τό a τρίτον third τῆς of γῆς the earth κατεκάη was burned up, καί and τό a τρίτον third τῶν of the δένδρων trees κατεκάη were burned up, καί and πᾶς all χόρτος [the] grass χλωρός green κατεκάη. was burned up.

Καί And ὁ the δεύτερος second ἄγγελος angel ἐσάλπισεν· sounded [his] trumpet, καί and ὡς [something] like ὄρος a mountain μέγα great, πυρί with fire καιόμενον burning, ἐβλήθη was cast εἰς into τήν the θάλασσαν, sea. καί And ἐγένετο became τό a τρίτον third τῆς of the θαλάσσης sea αἷμα blood, καί and ἀπέθανεν died τό a τρίτον third τῶν of the κτισμάτων creatures τῶν - ἐν in τῇ the θαλάσσῃ sea τά - ἔχοντα having ψυχάς life, καί and τό a τρίτον third τῶν of the πλοίων ships διεφθάρησαν. were destroyed.

Καί And ὁ the τρίτος third ἄγγελος angel ἐσάλπισεν· sounded [his] trumpet, καί and ἔπεσεν fell ἐκ out of τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ heaven ἀστήρ a star μέγας great, καιόμενος burning ὡς like λαμπάς a torch. καί And ἔπεσεν it fell ἐπί upon τό a τρίτον third τῶν of the ποταμῶν rivers, καί and ἐπί upon τάς the πηγάς springs τῶν of ὑδάτων, waters. καί And τό the ὄνομα name τοῦ of the ἀστέρος star λέγεται is called ὁ - Ἄψινθος, Wormwood. καί And ἐγένετο became τό a τρίτον third τῶν of the ὑδάτων waters εἰς into ἄψινθον wormwood, καί and πολλοί many τῶν of the ἀνθρώπων men ἀπέθανον died ἐκ from τῶν the ὑδάτων waters, ὅτι because ἐπικράνθησαν. they were made bitter.

Καί And ὁ the τέταρτος fourth ἄγγελος angel ἐσάλπισεν· sounded [his] trumpet, καί and ἐπλήγη was struck τό a τρίτον third τοῦ of the ἡλίου sun, καί and τό a τρίτον third τῆς of the σελήνης moon, καί and τό a τρίτον third τῶν of the ἀστέρων, stars, ἵνα so that σκοτισθῇ should be darkened τό a τρίτον third αὐτῶν of them, καί and ἡ the ἡμέρα day μή not φάνῃ should appear [for] τό a τρίτον third αὐτῆς of it, καί and ἡ the νύξ night ὁμοίως. likewise.

Καί And εἶδον, I looked, καί and ἤκουσα I heard ἑνός one ἀετοῦ eagle πετομένου flying ἐν in μεσουρανήματι mid-heaven, λέγοντος saying φωνῇ in a voice μεγάλῃ· loud, Οὐαί Woe! οὐαί Woe! οὐαί Woe τούς to those κατοικοῦντας dwelling ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth, ἐκ because of τῶν the λοιπῶν remaining φωνῶν voices τῆς of the σάλπιγγος trumpet τῶν of the τριῶν three ἀγγέλων angels τῶν - μελλόντων being about σαλπίζειν. to sound [their] trumpets!

Καί And ὁ the πέμπτος fifth ἄγγελος angel ἐσάλπισεν· sounded [his] trumpet, καί and εἶδον I saw ἀστέρα a star ἐκ out of τοῦ - οὐρανοῦ heaven πεπτωκότα having fallen εἰς to τήν the γῆν, earth, καί and ἐδόθη was given αὐτῷ to it ἡ the κλείς key τοῦ of the φρέατος pit τῆς of the ἀβύσσου abyss. καί And ἤνοιξεν he opened τό the φρέαρ pit τῆς of the ἀβύσσου, abyss, καί and ἀνέβη went up καπνός smoke ἐκ out of τοῦ the φρέατος pit, ὡς like καπνός [the] smoke καμίνου of a furnace μεγάλης, great, καί and ἐσκοτώθη were darkened ὁ the ἥλιος sun καί and ὁ the ἀήρ air ἐκ by τοῦ the καπνοῦ smoke τοῦ of the φρέατος. pit. Καί And ἐκ out of τοῦ the καπνοῦ smoke ἐξῆλθον came forth ἀκρίδες locusts εἰς unto τήν the γῆν, earth, καί and ἐδόθη was given αὐταῖς to them ἐξουσία power, ὡς like ἔχουσιν have ἐξουσίαν power οἱ the σκορπίοι scorpions τῆς of the γῆς. earth. καί And ἐρρέθη it was said αὐταῖς to them, ἵνα that μή not ἀδικήσουσιν they shall harm τόν the χόρτον grass τῆς of the γῆς earth, οὐδέ nor πᾶν any χλωρόν green thing, οὐδέ nor πᾶν any δένδρον, tree, εἰ if μή not τούς the ἀνθρώπους men οἵτινες - οὐ not ἔχουσι having τήν the σφραγῖδα seal τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God ἐπί on τῶν the μετώπων. foreheads. καί And ἐδόθη it was granted αὐτοῖς to them ἵνα that μή not ἀποκτείνωσιν they should kill αὐτούς, them, ἀλλ ̓ but ἵνα that βασανισθήσονται they shall torment [them] μῆνας months πέντε, five. καί And ὁ the βασανισμός torment αὐτῶν of them ὡς [was] like βασανισμός torment σκορπίου of a scorpion, ὅταν when παίσῃ it might strike ἄνθρωπον. a man. καί And ἐν in ταῖς the ἡμέραις days ἐκείναις those, ζητήσουσιν will seek οἱ - ἄνθρωποι men τόν - θάνατον death, καί and οὐ not μή no more εὑρήσουσιν will find αὐτόν, it; καί and ἐπιθυμήσουσιν they will long ἀποθανεῖν to die, καί and φεύγει shall flee ὁ - θάνατος death ἀπ ̓ from αὐτῶν. them.

Καί And τά the ὁμοιώματα appearance τῶν of the ἀκρίδων locusts [was] ὅμοια like ἵπποις horses ἡτοιμασμένοις having been prepared εἰς for πόλεμον, battle, καί and ἐπί upon τάς the κεφαλάς heads αὐτῶν of them ὡς [were something] like στέφανοι crowns, ὅμοιοι like χρυσῷ, gold; καί and τά the πρόσωπα faces αὐτῶν of them ὡς like πρόσωπα [the] faces ἀνθρώπων, of men. καί And εἶχον they had τρίχας hair ὡς like τρίχας hair γυναικῶν, of women, καί and οἱ the ὀδόντες teeth αὐτῶν of them ὡς like [those] λεόντων of lions ἦσαν, were. καί And εἶχον they had θώρακας breastplates ὡς like θώρακας breastplates σιδηροῦς, of iron, καί and ἡ the φωνή sound τῶν of the πτερύγων wings αὐτῶν of them ὡς [was] as φωνή [the] sound ἁρμάτων of chariots ἵππων of horses πολλῶν many τρεχόντων rushing εἰς into πόλεμον, battle. καί And ἔχουσιν they have οὐράς tails ὁμοίας like σκορπίοις scorpions καί and κέντρα, stingers, καί and ἐν in ταῖς the οὐραῖς tails αὐτῶν of them ἡ [is] the ἐξουσία power αὐτῶν of them ἀδικῆσαι to injure τούς - ἀνθρώπους men μῆνας for months πέντε, five. ἔχουσιν They have ἐπ ̓ over αὐτῶν them βασιλέα a king, τόν the ἄγγελον angel τῆς of the ἀβύσσου, abyss. ὄνομα [The] name αὐτῷ of Him Ἑβραϊστί in Hebrew Ἀβαδδών, [is] Abaddon, καί and ἐν in τῇ the Ἑλληνικῇ Greek, ὄνομα [the] name ἔχει he has Ἀπολλύων.
