Καί And ἀναβαίνων going up ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα Jerusalem, παρέλαβεν He took τούς the δώδεκα twelve μαθητάς disciples κατ ̓ aside ἰδίαν themselves, καί and ἐν on τῇ the ὁδῷ way εἶπεν He said αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἰδού Behold, ἀναβαίνομεν we go up εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα, Jerusalem, καί and ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man παραδοθήσεται will be betrayed τοῖς to the ἀρχιερεῦσιν chief priests καί and γραμματεῦσιν, scribes, καί and κατακρινοῦσιν they will condemn αὐτόν Him θανάτῳ [to] death, καί and παραδώσουσιν they will betray αὐτόν Him τοῖς the ἔθνεσιν Gentiles εἰς unto, τό - ἐμπαῖξαι to mock καί and μαστιγῶσαι to flog καί and σταυρῶσαι, to crucify; καί and τῇ the τρίτῃ third ἡμέρᾳ day ἐγερθήσεται. He will rise again.

Τότε Then προσῆλθεν came αὐτῷ to Him ἡ the μήτηρ mother τῶν of the υἱῶν sons Ζεβεδαίου of Zebedee μετά with τῶν the υἱῶν sons αὐτῆς of her, προσκυνοῦσα kneeling down, καί and αἰτοῦσα asking τὶ something ἀπ ̓ from αὐτοῦ. Him. ὁ - δέ And εἶπεν He said αὐτῇ· to her, Τί What θέλεις; do you desire? Λέγει She says αὐτῷ· to Him, Εἰπέ Say ἵνα that καθίσωσιν might sit οὗτοι these οἱ - δύο two υἱοί sons μου of mine, εἷς one ἐκ on δεξιῶν [the] right hand σου of You καί and εἷς one ἐκ on εὐωνύμων [the] left hand σου of You, ἐν in τῇ the βασιλείᾳ kingdom σου. of You. Ἀποκριθείς Answering δέ now, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν· said, οὐκ Not οἴδατε you know τί what αἰτεῖσθε. you ask for. δύνασθε Are you able πιεῖν to drink τό the ποτήριον cup ὅ which ἐγώ I μέλλω am about πίνειν; to drink?” Λέγουσιν They say αὐτῷ· to Him, Δυνάμεθα. We are able. Λέγει He says αὐτοῖς· to them, Τό - μέν Indeed ποτήριον the cup μου of Me πίεσθε, You will drink, τό - δέ but καθίσαι to sit ἐκ on δεξιῶν [the] right hand μου of Me καί and ἐκ on εὐωνύμων [the] left, οὐ not ἔστιν is ἐμόν Mine τοῦτο this δοῦναι, to give, ἀλλ ̓ but [to those] οἷς for whom ἡτοίμασται it has been prepared ὑπό by τοῦ the Πατρός Father μου. of Me.

Καί And ἀκούσαντες having heard [this], οἱ the δέκα ten ἠγανάκτησαν were indignant περί about τῶν the δύο two ἀδελφῶν. brothers. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus, προσκαλεσάμενος having called to [him] αὐτούς them, εἶπεν· said, Οἴδατε You know ὅτι that οἱ the ἄρχοντες rulers τῶν of the ἐθνῶν Gentiles κατακυριεύουσιν exercise lordship over αὐτῶν them, καί and οἱ the μεγάλοι great ones κατεξουσιάζουσιν exercise authority over αὐτῶν. them. οὐ Not οὕτως thus ἔσται will it be ἐν among ὑμῖν, you; ἀλλ ̓ but ὅς whoever ἐάν if θέλῃ wishes ἐν among ὑμῖν you μέγας great γενέσθαι to become, ἔσται he will be ὑμῶν your διάκονος, servant; καί and ὅς whoever ἄν - θέλῃ wishes ἐν among ὑμῖν you εἶναι to be πρῶτος first, ἔσται he will be ὑμῶν your δοῦλος· slave; ὥσπερ even as ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man οὐ not ἦλθεν came διακονηθῆναι to be served, ἀλλά but διακονῆσαι to serve, καί and δοῦναι to give τήν the ψυχήν life αὐτοῦ of Him λύτρον [as] a ransom ἀντί for πολλῶν. many.

Καί And ἐκπορευομένων [as] were going out αὐτῶν they ἀπό from Ἰεριχώ Jericho, ἠκολούθησεν followed αὐτῷ Him ὄχλος a crowd πολύς. great. καί And ἰδού behold, δύο two τυφλοί blind [men] καθήμενοι sitting παρά beside τήν the ὁδόν road, ἀκούσαντες having heard ὅτι that Ἰησοῦς Jesus παράγει, is passing by, ἔκραξαν cried out, λέγοντες· saying, Ἐλέησον Have mercy on ἡμᾶς, us, Κύριε, Lord, υἱός Son Δαυίδ. of David. ὁ - δέ And ὄχλος the crowd ἐπετίμησεν rebuked αὐτοῖς them, ἵνα that σιωπήσωσιν· they should be silent. οἱ - δέ But μεῖζον all the more ἔκραξαν they cried out, λέγοντες· saying, Ἐλέησον Have mercy on ἡμᾶς, us, Κύριε, Lord, υἱός Son Δαυίδ. of David. Καί And στάς having stopped, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἐφώνησεν called αὐτούς them καί and εἶπεν· said, Τί What θέλετε do you desire ποιήσω I should do ὑμῖν; unto you? Λέγουσιν They say αὐτῷ· to Him, Κύριε, Lord, ἵνα that ἀνοιγῶσιν might be opened οἱ the ὀφθαλμοί eyes ἡμῶν. of us. Σπλαγχνισθείς Having been moved with compassion δέ then, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἥψατο touched τῶν the ὀμμάτων eyes αὐτῶν, of them; καί and εὐθέως immediately ἀνέβλεψαν they received sight, καί and ἠκολούθησαν they followed αὐτῷ. Καί And ὅτε when ἤγγισαν they drew near εἰς to Ἱεροσόλυμα Jerusalem καί and ἦλθον came εἰς to Βηθφαγή Bethphage εἰς on τό the ὄρος Mount τῶν - Ἐλαιῶν, of Olives, τότε then Ἰησοῦς Jesus ἀπέστειλεν sent δύο two μαθητάς disciples, λέγων saying αὐτοῖς· to them, Πορεύεσθε Go εἰς into τήν the κώμην village τήν - κατέναντι in front ὑμῶν, of you, καί and εὐθέως immediately εὑρήσετε you will find ὄνον a donkey δεδεμένην having been tied, καί and πῶλον a colt μετ ̓ with αὐτῆς· her; λύσαντες having untied [them], ἀγάγετε bring [them] μοι. to Me. καί And ἐάν if τὶς anyone ὑμῖν to you εἴπῃ says τὶ, anything, ἐρεῖτε you will say ὅτι that ὁ the Κύριος Lord αὐτῶν of them χρείαν need ἔχει· has. εὐθύς Immediately δέ then ἀποστελεῖ he will send αὐτούς. them. Πορευθέντες Having gone δέ then οἱ the μαθηταί disciples καί and ποιήσαντες having done καθώς as συνέταξεν commanded αὐτοῖς them ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus, ἤγαγον they brought τήν the ὄνον donkey καί and τόν the πῶλον colt, καί and ἐπέθηκαν put ἐπ ̓ upon αὐτῶν them τά their ἱμάτια, cloaks, καί and ἐπεκάθισεν He sat ἐπάνω on αὐτῶν. them. ὁ The δέ now πλεῖστος very great ὄχλος crowd ἔστρωσαν spread ἑαυτῶν their τά the ἱμάτια cloaks ἐν on τῇ the ὁδῷ, road; ἄλλοι others δέ now ἔκοπτον were cutting down κλάδους branches ἀπό from τῶν the δένδρων trees καί and ἐστρώννυον were spreading [them] ἐν on τῇ the ὁδῷ. road. οἱ The δέ now ὄχλοι crowds οἱ - προάγοντες going before αὐτόν Him καί and οἱ those ἀκολουθοῦντες following ἔκραζον were crying out, λέγοντες· saying: Ὡσαννά Hosanna τῷ to the υἱῷ Son Δαυίδ· of David!” Εὐλογημένος Blessed is ὁ the [One] ἐρχόμενος coming ἐν in ὀνόματι [the] name Κυρίου· of [the] Lord!” Ὡσαννά Hosanna ἐν in τοῖς the ὑψίστοις. highest!”

Καί And εἰσελθόντος having entered αὐτοῦ of Him εἰς into Ἱεροσόλυμα Jerusalem, ἐσείσθη was stirred πᾶσα all ἡ the πόλις city, λέγουσα· saying, Τίς Who ἐστίν is οὗτος; this? οἱ - δέ And ὄχλοι the crowds ἔλεγον· were saying, Οὗτος This ἐστίν is ὁ the προφήτης prophet, Ἰησοῦς Jesus, ὁ the [One] ἀπό from Ναζαρέθ Nazareth τῆς - Γαλιλαίας. of Galilee.

Καί And εἰσῆλθεν entered Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἰς into τό the ἱερόν temple καί and ἐξέβαλεν cast out πάντας all τούς those πωλοῦντας selling καί and ἀγοράζοντας buying ἐν in τῷ the ἱερῷ, temple, καί and τάς the τραπέζας tables τῶν of the κολλυβιστῶν money changers κατέστρεψεν He overturned, καί and τάς the καθέδρας seats τῶν of those πωλούντων selling τάς the περιστεράς, doves. καί And λέγει He says αὐτοῖς· to them, Γέγραπται· It has been written: ὁ The οἶκος house μου of Me οἶκος a house προσευχῆς of prayer κληθήσεται, will be called.’ ὑμεῖς You δέ however αὐτόν it ποιεῖτε have made Σπήλαιον a den λῃστῶν. of robbers.’

Καί And προσῆλθον came αὐτῷ to Him τυφλοί blind καί and χωλοί lame ἐν in τῷ the ἱερῷ, temple, καί and ἐθεράπευσεν He healed αὐτούς. them. ἰδόντες Having seen δέ now οἱ the ἀρχιερεῖς chief priests καί and οἱ the γραμματεῖς scribes τά the θαυμάσια wonders ἅ that ἐποίησεν He did καί and τούς the παῖδας children τούς the κράζοντας crying out ἐν in τῷ the ἱερῷ temple καί and λέγοντας· saying, Ὡσαννά Hosanna τῷ to the υἱῷ Son Δαυίδ, of David, ἠγανάκτησαν they were indignant καί and εἶπαν said αὐτῷ· to Him, Ἀκούεις Hear you τί what οὗτοι these λέγουσιν; say? ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus λέγει says αὐτοῖς· to them, Ναί. Yes, οὐδέποτε never ἀνέγνωτε did you read ὅτι -: ἐκ Out of [the] στόματος mouth νηπίων of babes καί and θηλαζόντων sucklings, Κατηρτίσω You have prepared for yourself αἶνον; praise’

Καί And καταλιπών having left αὐτούς them, ἐξῆλθεν He went ἔξω out of τῆς the πόλεως city εἰς to Βηθανίαν Bethany, καί and ηὐλίσθη He passed the night ἐκεῖ. there.

Πρωΐ In the morning δέ then, ἐπανάγων having come back εἰς into τήν the πόλιν city, ἐπείνασεν. He became hungry. καί And ἰδών having seen συκῆν fig tree μίαν one ἐπί along τῆς the ὁδοῦ road, ἦλθεν He came ἐπ ̓ to αὐτήν it καί and οὐδέν nothing εὗρεν found ἐν on αὐτῇ it, εἰ if μή not φύλλα leaves μόνον, only. καί And λέγει He says αὐτῇ· to it, μηκέτι no more ἐκ from σοῦ you καρπός fruit γένηται let there be, εἰς to τόν the αἰῶνα. age. καί And ἐξηράνθη withered παραχρῆμα immediately ἡ the συκῆ. fig tree.

Καί And ἰδόντες having seen [it], οἱ the μαθηταί disciples ἐθαύμασαν marveled, λέγοντες· saying, Πῶς How παραχρῆμα so quickly ἐξηράνθη withered ἡ the συκῆ; fig tree? Ἀποκριθείς Answering δέ now, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, ἐάν if ἔχητε you have πίστιν faith καί and μή not διακριθῆτε, do doubt, οὐ not μόνον only τό the [miracle] τῆς of the συκῆς fig tree ποιήσετε, will you do, ἀλλά but κἄν even if τῷ to the ὄρει mountain τούτῳ this εἴπητε· you should say, Ἄρθητι Be you taken away καί and βλήθητι be you cast εἰς into τήν the θάλασσαν, sea, γενήσεται· it will come to pass. καί And πάντα all things ὅσα as many as ἄν - αἰτήσητε you might ask ἐν in τῇ - προσευχῇ prayer, πιστεύοντες believing, λήμψεσθε. you will receive.

Καί And ἐλθόντος having come αὐτοῦ of Him εἰς into τό the ἱερόν temple, προσῆλθον came αὐτῷ to Him διδάσκοντι teaching, οἱ the ἀρχιερεῖς chief priests καί and οἱ the πρεσβύτεροι elders τοῦ of the λαοῦ people, λέγοντες· saying, ἐν By ποίᾳ what ἐξουσίᾳ authority ταῦτα these things ποιεῖς; are You doing? καί And τίς who σοι to You ἔδωκεν gave τήν the ἐξουσίαν authority ταύτην; this? Ἀποκριθείς Answering δέ now, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἐρωτήσω Will ask ὑμᾶς you κἀγώ I also λόγον thing ἕνα, one, ὅν which ἐάν if εἴπητε you tell μοι Me, κἀγώ I also ὑμῖν to you ἐρῶ will say ἐν by ποίᾳ what ἐξουσίᾳ authority ταῦτα these things ποιῶ· I do. τό The βάπτισμα baptism τό of Ἰωάννου John, πόθεν from where ἦν; was it? ἐκ From οὐρανοῦ heaven, ἤ or ἐκ from ἀνθρώπων; men? οἱ - δέ And διελογίζοντο they were reasoning ἐν with ἑαυτοῖς themselves, λέγοντες· saying, Ἐάν If εἴπωμεν· we should say, ἐξ From οὐρανοῦ, heaven, ἐρεῖ He will say ἡμῖν· to us, Διά Because of τί why οὖν then οὐ not ἐπιστεύσατε did you believe αὐτῷ; him? ἐάν If δέ however εἴπωμεν· we should say, ἐξ From ἀνθρώπων, men, φοβούμεθα we fear τόν the ὄχλον, multitude; πάντες all γάρ for ὡς as προφήτην a prophet ἔχουσιν hold τόν - Ἰωάννην. John. καί And ἀποκριθέντες answering τῷ - Ἰησοῦ Jesus, εἶπαν· they said, οὐκ Not οἴδαμεν. do we know. Ἔφη Said αὐτοῖς to them καί also αὐτός· He, Οὐδέ Neither ἐγώ I λέγω tell ὑμῖν you ἐν by ποίᾳ what ἐξουσίᾳ authority ταῦτα these things ποιῶ. I do.

Ὕστερον Afterward δέ then, ἀπέστειλεν he sent πρός to αὐτούς them τόν the υἱόν son αὐτοῦ of him, λέγων· saying, Ἐντραπήσονται They will respect τόν the υἱόν son μου. of me. οἱ - δέ But γεωργοί the farmers ἰδόντες having seen τόν the υἱόν son, εἶπον said ἐν among ἑαυτοῖς· themselves, Οὗτος This ἐστίν is ὁ the κληρονόμος· heir; δεῦτε come, ἀποκτείνωμεν let us kill αὐτόν him καί and σχῶμεν gain possession of τήν the κληρονομίαν inheritance αὐτοῦ, of him. καί And λαβόντες having taking αὐτόν him, ἐξέβαλον they cast [him] ἔξω out of τοῦ the ἀμπελῶνος vineyard καί and ἀπέκτειναν. killed [him].
