Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν· to you, ὅσα how many ἐάν if δήσητε you shall bind ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth, ἔσται shall have been δεδεμένα bound ἐν in οὐρανῷ, heaven; καί and ὅσα how many ἐάν if λύσητε you shall loose ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth, ἔσται shall have been λελυμένα loosed ἐν in οὐρανῷ. heaven.

Πάλιν Again ἀμήν truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ἐάν if δύο two συμφωνήσωσιν might agree ἐκ of ὑμῶν you ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth περί concerning παντός any πράγματος matter, οὗ that ἐάν if αἰτήσωνται, they shall ask, γενήσεται it will be done αὐτοῖς for them παρά by τοῦ the Πατρός Father μου of Me τοῦ who [is] ἐν in οὐρανοῖς. [the] heavens. οὗ Where γάρ for εἰσίν are δύο two ἤ or τρεῖς three συνηγμένοι gathered together εἰς unto τό - ἐμόν My ὄνομα, name, ἐκεῖ there εἰμί am I ἐν in μέσῳ [the] midst αὐτῶν. of them.

Τότε Then προσελθών having come, ὁ - Πέτρος Peter εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to Him, Κύριε, Lord, ποσάκις how often ἁμαρτήσει will sin εἰς against ἐμέ me ὁ the ἀδελφός brother μου of me, καί and ἀφήσω I will forgive αὐτῷ; him? ἕως Up to ἑπτάκις; seven times? Λέγει Says αὐτῷ to him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, οὐ Not λέγω I say σοι to you ἕως up to ἑπτάκις seven times, ἀλλά but ἕως up to ἑβδομηκοντάκις seventy times ἑπτά. seven!

Διά Because of τοῦτο this, ὡμοιώθη has become like ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν heavens ἀνθρώπῳ to a man, βασιλεῖ, a king, ὅς who ἠθέλησεν desired συνᾶραι to settle λόγον accounts μετά with τῶν the δούλων servants αὐτοῦ. of him. ἀρξαμένου Having begun δέ then αὐτοῦ he συναίρειν to settle, προσηνέχθη was brought αὐτῷ to him, εἷς one ὀφειλέτης a debtor μυρίων of ten thousand ταλάντων. talents. μή Nothing ἔχοντος having δέ now αὐτοῦ he ἀποδοῦναι to pay, ἐκέλευσεν commanded αὐτόν him ὁ the κύριος master πραθῆναι to be sold, καί and τήν the γυναῖκα wife καί and τά the τέκνα children, καί and πάντα all ὅσα as many as ἔχει, he had, καί and ἀποδοθῆναι. payment to be made. Πεσών Having fallen down οὖν therefore ὁ the δοῦλος servant προσεκύνει was bowing on his knees αὐτῷ to him, λέγων· saying, Μακροθύμησον Have patience ἐπ ̓ with ἐμοί, me, καί and πάντα all ἀποδώσω I will pay σοι. to you. Σπλαγχνισθείς Having been moved with compassion δέ now, ὁ the κύριος master τοῦ of the δούλου servant ἐκείνου that ἀπέλυσεν released αὐτόν him, καί and τό the δάνειον debt ἀφῆκεν forgave αὐτῷ. him. Ἐξελθών Having gone out δέ however, ὁ the δοῦλος servant ἐκεῖνος same εὗρεν found ἕνα one τῶν the συνδούλων fellow servants αὐτοῦ, of him ὅς who ὤφειλεν was owing αὐτῷ him ἑκατόν a hundred δηνάρια, denarii, καί and κρατήσας having seized αὐτόν him ἔπνιγεν he was throttling [him], λέγων· saying, Ἀπόδος Pay εἴ if τὶ any ὀφείλεις. you owe.’ Πεσών Having fallen down οὖν therefore, ὁ the σύνδουλος fellow servant αὐτοῦ of him παρεκάλει was begging αὐτόν him, λέγων· saying, Μακροθύμησον Have patience ἐπ ̓ with ἐμοί, me, καί and ἀποδώσω I will pay σοι. you. ὁ - δέ But οὐ not ἤθελεν he was willing, ἀλλά rather ἀπελθών having gone, ἔβαλεν he cast αὐτόν him εἰς into φυλακήν prison, ἕως until ἀποδῷ he should pay τό that which ὀφειλόμενον. was owing. Ἰδόντες Having seen οὖν therefore οἱ the σύνδουλοι fellow servants αὐτοῦ of him τά the things γενόμενα having taken place, ἐλυπήθησαν they were grieved σφόδρα deeply, καί and ἐλθόντες having gone, διεσάφησαν narrated τῷ to κυρίῳ master ἑαυτῶν of themselves πάντα all τά that γενόμενα. having taken place. Τότε Then προσκαλεσάμενος having called to αὐτόν him, ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ of him λέγει says αὐτῷ· to him, Δοῦλε Servant πονηρέ, evil, πᾶσαν all τήν the ὀφειλήν debt ἐκείνην that ἀφῆκα I forgave σοι, you, ἐπεί because παρεκάλεσας you begged με· me. οὐ Not ἔδει did it behoove καί also σέ you ἐλεῆσαι to have pitied τόν the σύνδουλον fellow servant σου, of you, ὡς as κἀγώ also I σέ you ἠλέησα; had pitied? καί And ὀργισθείς having been angry, ὁ the κύριος master αὐτοῦ of him παρέδωκεν delivered αὐτόν him τοῖς to the βασανισταῖς jailers, ἕως until οὗ that ἀποδῷ he should pay πᾶν all τό - ὀφειλόμενον. being owed. Οὕτως Thus καί also ὁ the Πατήρ Father μου of Me ὁ - οὐράνιος Heavenly ποιήσει will do ὑμῖν, to you, ἐάν if μή not ἀφῆτε you forgive ἕκαστος each τῷ the ἀδελφῷ brother αὐτοῦ of him, ἀπό from τῶν the καρδιῶν heart ὑμῶν. of you. Καί And προσῆλθον came αὐτῷ to Him Φαρισαῖοι Pharisees, πειράζοντες testing αὐτόν Him καί and λέγοντες· saying, εἰ If ἔξεστιν is it lawful ἀνθρώπῳ for a man ἀπολῦσαι to divorce τήν the γυναῖκα a wife αὐτοῦ to him κατά for πᾶσαν every αἰτίαν; cause? ὁ Which δέ now ἀποκριθείς answering, εἶπεν· He said, οὐκ Not ἀνέγνωτε have you read ὅτι that ὁ the [One] κτίσας having created, ἀπ ̓ from [the] ἀρχῆς beginning Ἄρσεν male καί and θῆλυ female ἐποίησεν made αὐτούς; them’ καί and εἶπεν· said, Ἕνεκα On account of τούτου this καταλείψει will leave ἄνθρωπος a man τόν the πατέρα father καί and τήν the μητέρα mother καί and κολληθήσεται be joined with τῇ the γυναικί wife αὐτοῦ, of him, καί and ἔσονται will become οἱ the δύο two εἰς into σάρκα flesh μίαν. one’ ὥστε so that οὐκέτι no longer εἰσίν are they δύο two, ἀλλά but σάρξ flesh μία. one. ὅ What οὖν therefore ὁ - Θεός God συνέζευξεν united together, ἄνθρωπος man μή not χωριζέτω. let separate. Λέγουσιν They say αὐτῷ· to Him, Τί Why οὖν then Μωϋσῆς Moses ἐνετείλατο did command δοῦναι to give βιβλίον a roll ἀποστασίου of divorce, καί and ἀπολῦσαι to send away αὐτήν; her? Λέγει He says αὐτοῖς to them Ὅτι -, Μωϋσῆς Moses πρός in view of τήν the σκληροκαρδίαν hardness of heart ὑμῶν of you ἐπέτρεψεν allowed ὑμῖν you ἀπολῦσαι to divorce τάς the γυναῖκας wives ὑμῶν, of you; ἀπ ̓ from [the] ἀρχῆς beginning δέ however οὐ not γέγονεν was [it] οὕτως. this way. λέγω I say δέ now ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ὅς whoever ἄν - ἀπολύσῃ shall divorce τήν - γυναῖκα wife αὐτοῦ of him μή except ἐπί for πορνείᾳ sexual immorality, καί and γαμήσῃ shall marry ἄλλην another, μοιχᾶται. commits adultery.” Λέγουσιν Say αὐτῷ to Him οἱ the μαθηταί disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him εἰ If οὕτως this ἐστίν is ἡ the αἰτία case τοῦ of the ἀνθρώπου man μετά with τῆς the γυναικός, wife, οὐ not συμφέρει it is better γαμῆσαι. to marry. ὁ - δέ And εἶπεν He said αὐτοῖς· to them, οὐ Not πάντες all χωροῦσιν receive τόν the λόγον word τοῦτον this, ἀλλ ̓ but only [those] οἷς to whom δέδοται. it has been given. εἰσίν There are γάρ for εὐνοῦχοι eunuchs οἵτινες who ἐκ from [the] κοιλίας womb μητρός of [their] mother ἐγεννήθησαν were born οὕτως, thus, καί and εἰσίν there are εὐνοῦχοι eunuchs οἵτινες who εὐνουχίσθησαν were made eunuchs ὑπό by τῶν - ἀνθρώπων, men, καί and εἰσίν there are εὐνοῦχοι eunuchs οἵτινες who εὐνούχισαν made eunuchs of ἑαυτούς themselves διά for the sake of τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν. heavens. ὁ The [one] δυνάμενος being able χωρεῖν to receive [it], χωρείτω. let him receive [it].

Τότε Then προσηνέχθησαν were brought αὐτῷ to Him παιδία little children, ἵνα that τάς the χεῖρας hands ἐπιθῇ He might lay αὐτοῖς on them, καί and προσεύξηται· He might pray. οἱ - δέ however μαθηταί the disciples ἐπετίμησαν rebuked αὐτοῖς. them. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν· said, Ἄφετε Permit τά the παιδία little children, καί and μή not κωλύετε do forbid αὐτά them ἐλθεῖν to come πρός to με, Me; τῶν of the γάρ for τοιούτων such kind ἐστίν is ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν. heavens. καί And ἐπιθείς having laid τάς the χεῖρας hands αὐτοῖς upon them, ἐπορεύθη He departed ἐκεῖθεν. from there.

Καί And ἰδού behold, εἷς one προσελθών having come αὐτῷ to Him, εἶπεν· said, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, τί what ἀγαθόν good [thing] ποιήσω shall I do, ἵνα that σχῶ I might have ζωήν life αἰώνιον; eternal? ὁ - δέ And εἶπεν He said αὐτῷ· to him, Τί Why με Me ἐρωτᾷς ask you περί about τοῦ what is ἀγαθοῦ; good? εἷς Only One ἐστίν is ὁ - ἀγαθός· good. εἰ If δέ however θέλεις you desire εἰς into τήν - ζωήν life εἰσελθεῖν, to enter, τήρησον keep τάς the ἐντολάς. commandments. Λέγει He says αὐτῷ· to him, Ποίας; Which? ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν· said, Τό - οὐ Not φονεύσεις, shall you murder, οὐ not μοιχεύσεις, shall you commit adultery, οὐ not κλέψεις, shall you steal, οὐ not ψευδομαρτυρήσεις, shall you bear false witness, Τίμα you shall honor τόν the πατέρα father καί and τήν the μητέρα, mother, καί and Ἀγαπήσεις you shall love τόν - πλησίον neighbor σου of you ὡς as σεαυτόν. yourself.’ Λέγει Says αὐτῷ to him ὁ the νεανίσκος· young man, Πάντα All these ταῦτα things ἐφύλαξα· I have kept. τί What ἔτι yet ὑστερῶ; lack I? Ἔφη Was saying αὐτῷ to him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, εἰ If θέλεις you desire τέλειος perfect εἶναι, to be, ὕπαγε go, πώλησον sell σου of you τά the ὑπάρχοντα possessing, καί and δός give τοῖς to the πτωχοῖς, poor, καί and ἕξεις you will have θησαυρόν treasure ἐν in οὐρανοῖς, [the] heavens; καί and δεῦρο come, ἀκολούθει follow μοι. Me. Ἀκούσας Having heard δέ now ὁ the νεανίσκος young man τόν the λόγον statement, ἀπῆλθεν he went away λυπούμενος· grieving; ἦν he was [one] γάρ for ἔχων having κτήματα possessions πολλά. many.

ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said τοῖς to the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that πλούσιος a rich man δυσκόλως with difficulty εἰσελεύσεται will enter εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν. heavens. πάλιν Again δέ now λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, εὐκοπώτερον easier for ἐστίν [it] is κάμηλον a camel διά through [the] τρυπήματος eye ῥαφίδος of a needle διελθεῖν to go, ἤ than πλούσιον a rich man εἰσελθεῖν to enter εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ of Θεοῦ. God. Ἀκούσαντες Having heard δέ now, οἱ the μαθηταί disciples ἐξεπλήσσοντο were astonished σφόδρα exceedingly, λέγοντες· saying, Τίς Who ἄρα then δύναται is able σωθῆναι; to be saved? Ἐμβλέψας Having looked on [them] δέ now, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Παρά With ἀνθρώποις men τοῦτο this ἀδύνατον impossible ἐστίν, is, παρά with δέ however Θεῷ God πάντα all things [are] δυνατά. possible.

Τότε Then ἀποκριθείς answering ὁ - Πέτρος Peter εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to Him, Ἰδού Behold, ἡμεῖς we ἀφήκαμεν left πάντα all things καί and ἠκολουθήσαμεν followed σοι· You; τί what ἄρα then ἔσται will be ἡμῖν; to us? ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ὑμεῖς you οἱ - ἀκολουθήσαντες having followed μοι Me, ἐν in τῇ the παλινγενεσίᾳ, regeneration, ὅταν when καθίσῃ shall sit down ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man ἐπί upon θρόνου [the] throne δόξης of glory αὐτοῦ, of Him, καθήσεσθε will sit καί also ὑμεῖς you ἐπί on δώδεκα twelve θρόνους thrones, κρίνοντες judging τάς the δώδεκα twelve φυλάς tribes τοῦ - Ἰσραήλ. of Israel. καί And πᾶς everyone ὅστις who ἀφῆκεν has left οἰκίας houses, ἤ or ἀδελφούς brothers, ἤ or ἀδελφάς sisters, ἤ or πατέρα father, ἤ or μητέρα mother, ἤ or τέκνα children, ἤ or ἀγρούς lands, ἕνεκεν for the sake of τοῦ - ὀνόματος name, μου, My ἑκατονταπλασίονα a hundredfold λήμψεται will receive, καί and ζωήν life αἰώνιον eternal κληρονομήσει. will inherit. Πολλοί Many δέ however ἔσονται will be πρῶτοι first ἔσχατοι last, καί and ἔσχατοι last πρῶτοι. first.

Ὁμοία Like γάρ for ἐστίν is ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν heavens ἀνθρώπῳ to a man, οἰκοδεσπότῃ, a master of a house, ὅστις who ἐξῆλθεν went out ἅμα in [the] πρωΐ morning μισθώσασθαι to hire ἐργάτας workmen εἰς for τόν the ἀμπελῶνα vineyard αὐτοῦ. of him. συμφωνήσας Having agreed δέ then μετά with τῶν the ἐργατῶν workmen ἐκ for δηναρίου a denarius τήν for the ἡμέραν day, ἀπέστειλεν he sent αὐτούς them εἰς into τόν the ἀμπελῶνα vineyard αὐτοῦ. of him. Καί And ἐξελθών having gone out περί about τρίτην the third ὥραν hour, εἶδεν he saw ἄλλους others ἑστῶτας standing ἐν in τῇ the ἀγορᾷ marketplace ἀργούς idle, καί and ἐκείνοις to them εἶπεν· he said, Ὑπάγετε Go καί also ὑμεῖς you εἰς into τόν the ἀμπελῶνα, vineyard, καί and ὅ whatever ἐάν if ᾖ might be δίκαιον right, δώσω I will give ὑμῖν. you. οἱ - δέ And ἀπῆλθον. they went. Πάλιν Again δέ then ἐξελθών having gone out περί about [the] ἕκτην sixth καί and ἐνάτην ninth ὥραν hour, ἐποίησεν he did ὡσαύτως. likewise. Περί About δέ then τήν the ἑνδεκάτην eleventh, ἐξελθών having gone out, εὗρεν he found ἄλλους others ἑστῶτας standing, καί and λέγει he says αὐτοῖς· to them, Τί Why ὧδε here ἑστήκατε stand you ὅλην all τήν the ἡμέραν day ἀργοί; idle? Λέγουσιν They say αὐτῷ· to him, Ὅτι Because οὐδείς no one ἡμᾶς us ἐμισθώσατο. has hired. Λέγει He says αὐτοῖς· to them, Ὑπάγετε Go καί also ὑμεῖς You εἰς into τόν the ἀμπελῶνα. vineyard.’ Ὀψίας Evening δέ then γενομένης having arrived, λέγει says ὁ the κύριος master τοῦ of the ἀμπελῶνος vineyard τῷ to ἐπιτρόπῳ foreman αὐτοῦ· of him, Κάλεσον Call τούς the ἐργάτας workmen καί and ἀπόδος pay αὐτοῖς them τόν the μισθόν wages, ἀρξάμενος having begun ἀπό from τῶν the ἐσχάτων last ἕως unto τῶν the πρώτων. first. Καί And ἐλθόντες having come οἱ those [hired] περί about τήν the ἑνδεκάτην eleventh ὥραν hour, ἔλαβον they received ἀνά each δηνάριον. a denarius. καί And ἐλθόντες having come οἱ the πρῶτοι first, ἐνόμισαν they thought ὅτι that πλεῖον more λήμψονται· they will receive, καί but ἔλαβον they received τό those ἀνά each δηνάριον a denarius καί also αὐτοί. themselves. Λαβόντες Having received, δέ now ἐγόγγυζον they were grumbling κατά against τοῦ the οἰκοδεσπότου master of the house, λέγοντες· saying, Οὗτοι These οἱ the ἔσχατοι last, μίαν one ὥραν hour ἐποίησαν, have worked, καί and ἴσους equal ἡμῖν to us αὐτούς them ἐποίησας you have made, τοῖς those βαστάσασι having borne τό the βάρος burden τῆς of the ἡμέρας day καί and τόν the καύσωνα. scorching heat.
