Πάλιν Again ἀμήν truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ἐάν if δύο two συμφωνήσωσιν might agree ἐκ of ὑμῶν you ἐπί on τῆς the γῆς earth περί concerning παντός any πράγματος matter, οὗ that ἐάν if αἰτήσωνται, they shall ask, γενήσεται it will be done αὐτοῖς for them παρά by τοῦ the Πατρός Father μου of Me τοῦ who [is] ἐν in οὐρανοῖς. Διά Because of τοῦτο this, ὡμοιώθη has become like ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν heavens ἀνθρώπῳ to a man, βασιλεῖ, a king, ὅς who ἠθέλησεν desired συνᾶραι to settle λόγον accounts μετά with τῶν the δούλων servants αὐτοῦ. of him. ἀρξαμένου Having begun δέ then αὐτοῦ he συναίρειν to settle, προσηνέχθη was brought αὐτῷ to him, εἷς one ὀφειλέτης a debtor μυρίων of ten thousand ταλάντων. talents. μή Nothing ἔχοντος having δέ now αὐτοῦ he ἀποδοῦναι to pay, ἐκέλευσεν commanded αὐτόν him ὁ the κύριος master πραθῆναι to be sold, καί and τήν the γυναῖκα wife καί and τά the τέκνα children, καί and πάντα all ὅσα as many as ἔχει, he had, καί and ἀποδοθῆναι. payment to be made. Ἐξελθών Having gone out δέ however, ὁ the δοῦλος servant ἐκεῖνος same εὗρεν found ἕνα one τῶν the συνδούλων fellow servants αὐτοῦ, of him ὅς who ὤφειλεν was owing αὐτῷ him ἑκατόν a hundred δηνάρια, denarii, καί and κρατήσας having seized αὐτόν him ἔπνιγεν he was throttling [him], λέγων· saying, Ἀπόδος Pay εἴ if τὶ any ὀφείλεις. you owe.’ Πεσών Having fallen down οὖν therefore, ὁ the σύνδουλος fellow servant αὐτοῦ of him παρεκάλει was begging αὐτόν him, λέγων· saying, Μακροθύμησον Have patience ἐπ ̓ with ἐμοί, me, καί and ἀποδώσω I will pay σοι. you. ὁ - δέ But οὐ not ἤθελεν he was willing, ἀλλά rather ἀπελθών having gone, ἔβαλεν he cast αὐτόν him εἰς into φυλακήν prison, ἕως until ἀποδῷ he should pay τό that which ὀφειλόμενον. was owing. Τότε Then προσηνέχθησαν were brought αὐτῷ to Him παιδία little children, ἵνα that τάς the χεῖρας hands ἐπιθῇ He might lay αὐτοῖς on them, καί and προσεύξηται· He might pray. οἱ - δέ however μαθηταί the disciples ἐπετίμησαν rebuked αὐτοῖς. them. ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν· said, Ἄφετε Permit τά the παιδία little children, καί and μή not κωλύετε do forbid αὐτά them ἐλθεῖν to come πρός to με, Me; τῶν of the γάρ for τοιούτων such kind ἐστίν is ἡ the βασιλεία kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν. heavens. καί And ἐπιθείς having laid τάς the χεῖρας hands αὐτοῖς upon them, ἐπορεύθη He departed ἐκεῖθεν. from there.

Καί And ἰδού behold, εἷς one προσελθών having come αὐτῷ to Him, εἶπεν· said, Διδάσκαλε, Teacher, τί what ἀγαθόν good [thing] ποιήσω shall I do, ἵνα that σχῶ I might have ζωήν life αἰώνιον; eternal? ὁ - δέ And εἶπεν He said αὐτῷ· to him, Τί Why με Me ἐρωτᾷς ask you περί about τοῦ what is ἀγαθοῦ; good? εἷς Only One ἐστίν is ὁ - ἀγαθός· good. εἰ If δέ however θέλεις you desire εἰς into τήν - ζωήν life εἰσελθεῖν, to enter, τήρησον keep τάς the ἐντολάς. commandments. Λέγει He says αὐτῷ· to him, Ποίας; Which? ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν· said, Τό - οὐ Not φονεύσεις, shall you murder, οὐ not μοιχεύσεις, shall you commit adultery, οὐ not κλέψεις, shall you steal, οὐ not ψευδομαρτυρήσεις, shall you bear false witness, Τίμα you shall honor τόν the πατέρα father καί and τήν the μητέρα, mother, καί and Ἀγαπήσεις you shall love τόν - πλησίον neighbor σου of you ὡς as σεαυτόν. yourself.’ Λέγει Says αὐτῷ to him ὁ the νεανίσκος· young man, Πάντα All these ταῦτα things ἐφύλαξα· I have kept. τί What ἔτι yet ὑστερῶ; lack I? Ἔφη Was saying αὐτῷ to him ὁ - Ἰησοῦς· Jesus, εἰ If θέλεις you desire τέλειος perfect εἶναι, to be, ὕπαγε go, πώλησον sell σου of you τά the ὑπάρχοντα possessing, καί and δός give τοῖς to the πτωχοῖς, poor, καί and ἕξεις you will have θησαυρόν treasure ἐν in οὐρανοῖς, [the] heavens; καί and δεῦρο come, ἀκολούθει follow μοι. Me. Ἀκούσας Having heard δέ now ὁ the νεανίσκος young man τόν the λόγον statement, ἀπῆλθεν he went away λυπούμενος· grieving; ἦν he was [one] γάρ for ἔχων having κτήματα possessions πολλά. many.

ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said τοῖς to the μαθηταῖς disciples αὐτοῦ· of Him, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that πλούσιος a rich man δυσκόλως with difficulty εἰσελεύσεται will enter εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τῶν of the οὐρανῶν. heavens. πάλιν Again δέ now λέγω I say ὑμῖν, to you, εὐκοπώτερον easier for ἐστίν [it] is κάμηλον a camel διά through [the] τρυπήματος eye ῥαφίδος of a needle διελθεῖν to go, ἤ than πλούσιον a rich man εἰσελθεῖν to enter εἰς into τήν the βασιλείαν kingdom τοῦ of Θεοῦ. Ἐμβλέψας Having looked on [them] δέ now, ὁ - Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Παρά With ἀνθρώποις men τοῦτο this ἀδύνατον impossible ἐστίν, is, παρά with δέ however Θεῷ God πάντα all things [are] δυνατά. possible.

Τότε Then ἀποκριθείς answering ὁ - Πέτρος Peter εἶπεν said αὐτῷ· to Him, Ἰδού Behold, ἡμεῖς we ἀφήκαμεν left πάντα all things καί and ἠκολουθήσαμεν followed σοι· You; τί what ἄρα then ἔσται will be ἡμῖν; to us? ὁ - δέ And Ἰησοῦς Jesus εἶπεν said αὐτοῖς· to them, Ἀμήν Truly λέγω I say ὑμῖν to you ὅτι that ὑμεῖς you οἱ - ἀκολουθήσαντες having followed μοι Me, ἐν in τῇ the παλινγενεσίᾳ, regeneration, ὅταν when καθίσῃ shall sit down ὁ the Υἱός Son τοῦ - ἀνθρώπου of Man ἐπί upon θρόνου [the] throne δόξης of glory αὐτοῦ, of Him, καθήσεσθε will sit καί also ὑμεῖς you ἐπί on δώδεκα twelve θρόνους thrones, κρίνοντες judging τάς the δώδεκα twelve φυλάς tribes τοῦ - Ἰσραήλ. of Israel.
