Εὐλογητός Blessed [be] ὁ the Θεός God καί and Πατήρ Father τοῦ of the Κυρίου Lord ἡμῶν of us Ἰησοῦ Jesus Χριστοῦ, Christ, ὁ the [One] εὐλογήσας having blessed ἡμᾶς us ἐν with πάσῃ every εὐλογίᾳ blessing πνευματικῇ spiritual ἐν in τοῖς the ἐπουρανίοις heavenly realms ἐν in Χριστῷ, Christ, καθώς just as ἐξελέξατο He chose ἡμᾶς us ἐν in αὐτῷ Him πρό before καταβολῆς [the] foundation κόσμου of [the] world, εἶναι to be ἡμᾶς for us ἁγίους holy καί and ἀμώμους blameless κατενώπιον before αὐτοῦ Him, ἐν in ἀγάπῃ, love προορίσας having predestined ἡμᾶς us εἰς for υἱοθεσίαν divine adoption as sons διά through Ἰησοῦ Jesus Χριστοῦ Christ, εἰς to αὐτόν, Himself, κατά according to τήν the εὐδοκίαν good pleasure τοῦ of the θελήματος will αὐτοῦ, of Him, εἰς to ἔπαινον [the] praise δόξης of [the] glory τῆς of the χάριτος of grace αὐτοῦ of Him, ἧς which ἐχαρίτωσεν He has freely given ἡμᾶς us ἐν in τῷ the Ἠγαπημένῳ. Beloved [One], ἐν in ᾧ whom ἔχομεν we have τήν - ἀπολύτρωσιν redemption διά through τοῦ the αἵματος blood αὐτοῦ, of Him, τήν the ἄφεσιν forgiveness τῶν - παραπτωμάτων, of trespasses, κατά according to τό the πλοῦτος riches τῆς of the χάριτος grace αὐτοῦ of Him, ἧς which ἐπερίσσευσεν He lavished εἰς upon ἡμᾶς, us ἐν in πάσῃ all σοφίᾳ wisdom καί and φρονήσει, understanding, γνωρίσας having made known ἡμῖν to us τό the μυστήριον mystery τοῦ of the θελήματος will αὐτοῦ, of Him κατά according to τήν the εὐδοκίαν pleasure αὐτοῦ of Him, ἥν which προέθετο He purposed ἐν in αὐτῷ Him εἰς for οἰκονομίαν [the] administration τοῦ of the πληρώματος fullness τῶν of the καιρῶν, times, ἀνακεφαλαιώσασθαι to bring together τά the πάντα all things ἐν in τῷ - Χριστῷ, Christ, τά the things ἐπί in τοῖς the οὐρανοῖς heavens καί and τά the things ἐπί upon τῆς the γῆς earth, ἐν in αὐτῷ. Him, ἐν in ᾧ whom καί also ἐκληρώθημεν we have obtained an inheritance, προορισθέντες having been predestined κατά according to πρόθεσιν [the] purpose τοῦ of the [One] τά - πάντα all things ἐνεργοῦντος working κατά according to τήν the βουλήν counsel τοῦ of the θελήματος will αὐτοῦ of Him, εἰς for τό - εἶναι to be ἡμᾶς us εἰς to ἔπαινον [the] praise δόξης of [the] glory αὐτοῦ of Him, τούς the [ones] προηλπικότας having first trusted ἐν in τῷ - Χριστῷ. Christ, ἐν in ᾧ whom καί also ὑμεῖς you, ἀκούσαντες having heard τόν the λόγον word τῆς - ἀληθείας, of truth, τό the εὐαγγέλιον gospel τῆς of the σωτηρίας salvation ὑμῶν, of you, ἐν in ᾧ whom καί also πιστεύσαντες having believed, ἐσφραγίσθητε you were sealed τῷ with the Πνεύματι Spirit τῆς - ἐπαγγελίας of promise τῷ - Ἁγίῳ, Holy, ὅ who ἐστίν is ἀρραβών [the] guarantee τῆς of the κληρονομίας inheritance ἡμῶν, of us, εἰς to ἀπολύτρωσιν [the] redemption τῆς of the περιποιήσεως, acquired possession, εἰς to ἔπαινον [the] praise τῆς of the δόξης glory αὐτοῦ. of Him.

Διά Because of τοῦτο this κἀγώ I also, ἀκούσας having heard of τήν the καθ ̓ among ὑμᾶς you πίστιν faith ἐν in τῷ the Κυρίῳ Lord Ἰησοῦ Jesus καί and τήν the ἀγάπην love τήν - εἰς toward πάντας all τούς the ἁγίους saints, οὐ not παύομαι do cease εὐχαριστῶν giving thanks ὑπέρ for ὑμῶν you, μνείαν mention ποιούμενος making ἐπί in τῶν the προσευχῶν prayers μου, of me, ἵνα that ὁ the Θεός God τοῦ of the Κυρίου Lord ἡμῶν of us Ἰησοῦ Jesus Χριστοῦ, Christ, ὁ the Πατήρ Father τῆς - δόξης, of glory, δώῃ may give ὑμῖν to you πνεῦμα [a] spirit σοφίας of wisdom καί and ἀποκαλύψεως revelation ἐν in ἐπιγνώσει [the] knowledge αὐτοῦ, of Him, πεφωτισμένους being enlightened τούς the ὀφθαλμούς eyes τῆς of the καρδίας heart ὑμῶν of you, εἰς in order for τό - εἰδέναι to know ὑμᾶς you τίς what ἐστίν is ἡ the ἐλπίς hope τῆς of the κλήσεως calling αὐτοῦ, of Him, τίς what ὁ [are] the πλοῦτος riches τῆς of the δόξης glory τῆς of the κληρονομίας inheritance αὐτοῦ of Him ἐν in τοῖς the ἁγίοις, saints, καί and τί what τό [is] the ὑπερβάλλον surpassing μέγεθος greatness τῆς of the δυνάμεως power αὐτοῦ of Him εἰς toward ἡμᾶς us, τούς those πιστεύοντας believing κατά according to τήν the ἐνέργειαν working τοῦ of the κράτους might τῆς of the ἰσχύος strength αὐτοῦ. of Him, ἥν which ἐνήργηκεν He worked ἐν in τῷ - Χριστῷ Christ, ἐγείρας having raised αὐτόν Him ἐκ out from νεκρῶν [the] dead καί and καθίσας having set [Him] ἐν at δεξιᾷ [the] right hand αὐτοῦ of Him ἐν in τοῖς the ἐπουρανίοις heavenly realms, ὑπεράνω above πάσης every ἀρχῆς principality καί and ἐξουσίας authority καί and δυνάμεως power καί and κυριότητος dominion, καί and παντός every ὀνόματος name ὀνομαζομένου, being named, οὐ not μόνον only ἐν in τῷ the αἰῶνι age τούτῳ this, ἀλλά but καί also ἐν in τῷ the [one] μέλλοντι· coming. καί And πάντα all things ὑπέταξεν He put ὑπό under τούς the πόδας feet αὐτοῦ of Him, καί and αὐτόν Him ἔδωκεν gave κεφαλήν [to be] head ὑπέρ over πάντα all things τῇ to the ἐκκλησίᾳ, church, ἥτις which ἐστίν is τό the σῶμα body αὐτοῦ, of Him, τό the πλήρωμα fullness τοῦ of the [One] τά - πάντα all ἐν in πᾶσιν all πληρουμένου. filling.

Καί And ὑμᾶς you, ὄντας being νεκρούς dead τοῖς in the παραπτώμασιν trespasses καί and ταῖς the ἁμαρτίαις sins ὑμῶν, of you, ἐν in αἷς which ποτέ once περιεπατήσατε you walked, κατά according to τόν the αἰῶνα age, τοῦ the κόσμου world τούτου, of this, κατά according to τόν the ἄρχοντα ruler τῆς of the ἐξουσίας authority τοῦ of the ἀέρος, air, τοῦ the πνεύματος spirit τοῦ - νῦν now ἐνεργοῦντος working ἐν in τοῖς the υἱοῖς sons τῆς - ἀπειθείας· of disobedience, ἐν among οἷς whom καί also ἡμεῖς we πάντες all ἀνεστράφημεν lived ποτέ once ἐν in ταῖς the ἐπιθυμίαις desires τῆς of the σαρκός flesh ἡμῶν of us, ποιοῦντες doing τά the θελήματα things willed τῆς of the σαρκός flesh, καί and τῶν of [its] διανοιῶν, thoughts; καί and ἤμεθα we were τέκνα children, φύσει by nature, ὀργῆς of wrath, ὡς as καί even οἱ the λοιποί· rest. ὁ - δέ But Θεός God, πλούσιος rich ὤν being ἐν in ἐλέει, mercy, διά because of τήν the πολλήν great ἀγάπην love αὐτοῦ of Him ἥν with which ἠγάπησεν He loved ἡμᾶς, us, καί even ὄντας being ἡμᾶς we νεκρούς dead τοῖς - παραπτώμασιν in trespasses, συνεζωοποίησεν made [us] alive with τῷ - Χριστῷ— Christ — χάριτι by grace ἐστέ you are σεσῳσμένοι— saved — καί and συνήγειρεν He raised [us] up together καί and συνεκάθισεν seated [us] together ἐν in τοῖς the ἐπουρανίοις heavenly realms ἐν in Χριστῷ Christ Ἰησοῦ, Jesus, ἵνα in order that ἐνδείξηται He might show ἐν in τοῖς the αἰῶσιν ages τοῖς that ἐπερχομένοις [are] coming τό the ὑπερβάλλον surpassing πλοῦτος riches τῆς of the χάριτος grace αὐτοῦ of Him ἐν in χρηστότητι kindness ἐφ ̓ toward ἡμᾶς us ἐν in Χριστῷ Christ Ἰησοῦ. Jesus. Τῇ - γάρ For χάριτι by grace ἐστέ you are σεσῳσμένοι saved διά through πίστεως· faith, καί and τοῦτο this οὐ not ἐκ of ὑμῶν, yourselves; Θεοῦ [it is] of God τό the δῶρον· gift, οὐ not ἐκ as a result of ἔργων, works, ἵνα so that μή not τὶς anyone καυχήσηται. may boast. αὐτοῦ Of Him γάρ for ἐσμέν we are ποίημα, workmanship, κτισθέντες having been created ἐν in Χριστῷ Christ Ἰησοῦ Jesus ἐπί for ἔργοις works ἀγαθοῖς good, οἷς which προητοίμασεν prepared beforehand ὁ - Θεός, God, ἵνα that ἐν in αὐτοῖς them περιπατήσωμεν. we should walk. Διό Therefore μνημονεύετε remember ὅτι that ποτέ formerly ὑμεῖς you τά the ἔθνη Gentiles ἐν in σαρκί, [the] flesh, οἱ the ones λεγόμενοι being called ἀκροβυστία [the] uncircumcision ὑπό by τῆς that λεγομένης being called περιτομῆς [the] circumcision, ἐν in σαρκί [the] flesh χειροποιήτου, made by hands — ὅτι that ἦτε you were τῷ at the καιρῷ time ἐκείνῳ that χωρίς separate from Χριστοῦ, Christ, ἀπηλλοτριωμένοι alienated from τῆς the πολιτείας commonwealth τοῦ - Ἰσραήλ of Israel, καί and ξένοι strangers τῶν to the διαθηκῶν covenants τῆς of the ἐπαγγελίας, promise, ἐλπίδα hope μή not ἔχοντες having καί and ἄθεοι without God ἐν in τῷ the κόσμῳ. world. νυνί Now δέ however ἐν in Χριστῷ Christ Ἰησοῦ Jesus, ὑμεῖς you οἵ the [ones] ποτέ once ὄντες being μακράν far off ἐγενήθητε have become ἐγγύς near ἐν by τῷ the αἵματι blood τοῦ - Χριστοῦ. of Christ. Αὐτός He Himself γάρ for ἐστίν is ἡ the εἰρήνη peace ἡμῶν, of us, ὁ - ποιήσας having made τά - ἀμφότερα both ἕν one, καί and τό the μεσότοιχον barrier τοῦ of the φραγμοῦ fence λύσας, having broken down, τήν the ἔχθραν hostility, ἐν in τῇ the σαρκί flesh αὐτοῦ, of Him, τόν the νόμον law τῶν - ἐντολῶν of commandments ἐν in δόγμασιν ordinances καταργήσας, having annulled, ἵνα so that τούς the δύο two κτίσῃ He might create ἐν in αὑτῷ Himself εἰς into ἕνα one καινόν new ἄνθρωπον man, ποιῶν making εἰρήνην peace; καί and ἀποκαταλλάξῃ He might reconcile τούς - ἀμφοτέρους both ἐν in ἑνί one σώματι body τῷ - Θεῷ to God διά through τοῦ the σταυροῦ, cross, ἀποκτείνας having slain τήν the ἔχθραν hostility ἐν by αὐτῷ. it. Καί And ἐλθών having come, εὐηγγελίσατο He proclaimed the gospel: εἰρήνην peace ὑμῖν to you, τοῖς the [ones] μακράν far off, καί and εἰρήνην peace τοῖς to those ἐγγύς· near. ὅτι For δι ̓ through αὐτοῦ Him ἔχομεν we have τήν the προσαγωγήν access οἱ - ἀμφότεροι both ἐν by ἑνί one Πνεύματι Spirit πρός to τόν the Πατέρα. Father. Ἄρα So οὖν then οὐκέτι no longer ἐστέ are you ξένοι strangers καί and πάροικοι aliens, ἀλλά but ἐστέ are συμπολῖται fellow citizens τῶν of the ἁγίων saints καί and οἰκεῖοι of the household τοῦ - Θεοῦ, of God, ἐποικοδομηθέντες having been built ἐπί upon τῷ the θεμελίῳ foundation τῶν of the ἀποστόλων apostles καί and προφητῶν, prophets, ὄντος being ἀκρογωνιαίου [the] cornerstone αὐτοῦ Himself Χριστοῦ Christ Ἰησοῦ, Jesus, ἐν in ᾧ whom πᾶσα the whole οἰκοδομή building, συναρμολογουμένη being fitted together, αὔξει is increasing εἰς into ναόν a temple, ἅγιον holy ἐν in Κυρίῳ, [the] Lord, ἐν in ᾧ whom καί also ὑμεῖς you συνοικοδομεῖσθε are being built together εἰς for κατοικητήριον a habitation τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God ἐν in Πνεύματι. [the] Spirit.

Τούτου Of this χάριν for reason, ἐγώ I Παῦλος Paul, ὁ the δέσμιος prisoner τοῦ - Χριστοῦ of Christ Ἰησοῦ Jesus, ὑπέρ for ὑμῶν you τῶν - ἐθνῶν— Gentiles... Εἴ If γέ indeed ἠκούσατε you have heard of τήν the οἰκονομίαν administration τῆς of the χάριτος grace τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God, τῆς - δοθείσης having been given μοι to me εἰς toward ὑμᾶς, you, ὅτι that κατά by ἀποκάλυψιν revelation ἐγνωρίσθη He made known μοι to me τό the μυστήριον, mystery, καθώς just as προέγραψα I have written before ἐν in ὀλίγῳ, brief, πρός by ὅ which δύνασθε you are able, ἀναγινώσκοντες reading [it], νοῆσαι to understand τήν the σύνεσιν insight μου of me ἐν into τῷ the μυστηρίῳ mystery τοῦ - Χριστοῦ, of Christ, ὅ which ἑτέραις in other γενεαῖς generations οὐ not ἐγνωρίσθη was made known τοῖς to the υἱοῖς sons τῶν - ἀνθρώπων of men, ὡς as νῦν now ἀπεκαλύφθη it has been revealed τοῖς to ἁγίοις holy ἀποστόλοις apostles αὐτοῦ His καί and προφήταις prophets ἐν in Πνεύματι, [the] Spirit, εἶναι are τά the ἔθνη Gentiles συνκληρονόμα joint-heirs, καί and σύσσωμα a joint-body, καί and συμμέτοχα joint-partakers τῆς of the ἐπαγγελίας promise ἐν in Χριστῷ Christ Ἰησοῦ Jesus, διά through τοῦ the εὐαγγελίου, gospel, οὗ of which ἐγενήθην I became διάκονος servant κατά according to τήν the δωρεάν gift τῆς of the χάριτος grace τοῦ - Θεοῦ of God τῆς -, δοθείσης having been given μοι to me κατά according to τήν the ἐνέργειαν working τῆς of the δυνάμεως power αὐτοῦ. of Him.

Ἐμοί To me, τῷ the ἐλαχιστοτέρῳ very least πάντων of all ἁγίων saints, ἐδόθη was given ἡ the χάρις grace αὕτη, this: τοῖς to the ἔθνεσιν Gentiles εὐαγγελίσασθαι to preach τό the ἀνεξιχνίαστον unsearchable πλοῦτος riches τοῦ - Χριστοῦ of Christ, καί and φωτίσαι to enlighten πάντας all τίς what [is] ἡ the οἰκονομία administration τοῦ of the μυστηρίου mystery τοῦ - ἀποκεκρυμμένου having been hidden ἀπό from τῶν the αἰώνων ages ἐν in τῷ - Θεῷ God, τῷ the [One] τά - πάντα all things κτίσαντι, having created, ἵνα so that γνωρισθῇ should be made known νῦν now ταῖς to the ἀρχαῖς rulers καί and ταῖς the ἐξουσίαις authorities ἐν in τοῖς the ἐπουρανίοις heavenly realms, διά through τῆς the ἐκκλησίας church, ἡ the πολυποίκιλος manifold σοφία wisdom τοῦ - Θεοῦ, of God, κατά according to πρόθεσιν [the] purpose τῶν of the αἰώνων ages, ἥν which ἐποίησεν He accomplished ἐν in τῷ - Χριστῷ Christ Ἰησοῦ Jesus τῷ the Κυρίῳ Lord ἡμῶν, of us, ἐν in ᾧ whom ἔχομεν we have τήν - παρρησίαν boldness καί and προσαγωγήν access ἐν in πεποιθήσει confidence, διά by τῆς the πίστεως faith αὐτοῦ. from Him. Διό Therefore αἰτοῦμαι I implore [you] μή not ἐνκακεῖν to lose heart ἐν at ταῖς the θλίψεσιν tribulations μου of me ὑπέρ for ὑμῶν, you, ἥτις which ἐστίν is δόξα glory ὑμῶν. of you.

Τούτου ... of this χάριν for reason κάμπτω I bow τά the γόνατα knees μου of me πρός to τόν the Πατέρα, Father, ἐκ from οὗ whom πᾶσα every πατριά family ἐν in οὐρανοῖς [the] heavens καί and ἐπί on γῆς earth ὀνομάζεται, is named, ἵνα that δῷ He might give ὑμῖν you κατά according to τό the πλοῦτος riches τῆς of the δόξης glory αὐτοῦ of Him, δυνάμει with power, κραταιωθῆναι to be strengthened διά by τοῦ the Πνεύματος Spirit αὐτοῦ of Him εἰς in τόν the ἔσω inner ἄνθρωπον, man, κατοικῆσαι [for] to dwell τόν - Χριστόν Christ διά through τῆς - πίστεως faith ἐν in ταῖς the καρδίαις hearts ὑμῶν, of you, ἐν in ἀγάπῃ love ἐρριζωμένοι being rooted καί and τεθεμελιωμένοι, being founded, ἵνα so that ἐξισχύσητε you may be fully able καταλαβέσθαι to comprehend σύν with πᾶσιν all τοῖς the ἁγίοις saints τί what [is] τό the πλάτος breadth καί and μῆκος length καί and ὕψος height καί and βάθος, depth, γνῶναι to know τέ then τήν the ὑπερβάλλουσαν surpassing τῆς - γνώσεως knowledge ἀγάπην love τοῦ - Χριστοῦ, of Christ, ἵνα so that πληρωθῆτε you may be filled εἰς unto πᾶν all τό the πλήρωμα fullness τοῦ - Θεοῦ. of God.
